The Lakers couldn't handle the Warriors in two attempts in Hawaii, losing both contests. That didn't deter the Clips from going into their turf and stealing a victory. Al Thorton, off the bench, only scored 24 points, 5 rebounds (3 offensive), and 1 block in only 26 minutes. He only hit 11 of 14 shots. He is a scoring machine. Patterson showed his promise with 19 points and 11 rebs. Maggette had an off night with only 18 points and 14 rebs. He He.

The Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors, 99-89, at Oracle Arena on Sunday for their first exhibition victory. Cassell, Corey Maggette, Josh Powell, Quinton Ross and Chris Kaman started. Al Thornton made his first eight shots and finished with a game-high 24 points. Maggette added 18 points and 14 rebounds.

See what's possible when the young guys step up, the new guys step up, and the Clipper leading scorer of a couple years ago, decides he is a stud rebounder. Thorton, Patterson, and Maggette provided an unusual combination to lead the team to victory. What will happen next? I know, Chris Kaman is going to decide he is a PG and dish out 11 assists in the next game!

Very nice win! I tried to listen to it but an archived game was played instead.

Great job by the Clippers on the boards as they crushed the Warriors 59-42 in that statistical category. Maggette had 14 rebounds while Patterson had 11. That's the way it's gonna have to be with EB out- different guys picking up the slack. And yeah great job by "The Thorn" with 24 points on 11 of 15 shooting. Nice to see Kaman back even though he didn't play well. Here are the box scores:
