So if we do try to get Kapono, what can we give them back? What are their needs? At first I thought those posts you guys made were just opinions but now it's true.

They'd probably make Elton Brand a mandatory part of any deal Twisted Evil

"Stein writes that the Clippers and Kings could have interest in Kapono's three-point shooting ability."

^Exactly... any team that has an SF in possible trades, our name pops up...now that either because we are very quick to the punch or it is because ppl just assume since that is the position we have a need at, we "could" have interest in them. I could see us pulling the trigger on something like this...but i couldnt see us parting ways with a young piece that we have to get him. The organization is too committed to rebuilding through the draft and our young players.

itd be nice to have a shooter like kapono but his contract is a little too hefty for my tastes

contenders trade for missing puzzle pieces like kapono. we're too young and have too many holes to contend this year. a trade like this makes no sense.

I hope Stein is just talking out his neck, he does often and charges people for it.

Title is misleading, Stein says Clippers and Kings could be interested... never said Clippers do have interest in Kapono...

Agree. Definetely he's not a SF starter which is what we desperatly need. Next

I like how it says the 76ers are open to trading Kapono. As if anyone actually wanted him. lol

Always liked Kapono. But with Cook, that would be a duplication. Course, if we could start again I'd much rather have Kapono than Cook, but what's done is done. This would render Cook a complete waste of a roster spot.

We don't even need Kapono with Cook and possibly McGrady on board.

Why would we even consider this?? This guy is even less athletic then Novak. I can't stand Kapono

If we trade for Kapono, I say we ask them to include Louis Williams in the trade as well, that kid is an absolute monster! Kapono would be a 1 year rental with cap space coming off the books next year, Louis Williams is as explosive and quick as Iverson was when he first hit the scene. He's got great scoring abilities, amazingly fast, can get to the line a lot and isn't a bad passer.

We could easily have him as our primary backup PG until Bledsoe is ready. I'd rather run Lou Wills as the PG rather than Foye or Bledsoe. Foye is more of a shooter, Bledsoe seems too inexperienced.

Oh, and I mentioned Kapono yesterday before this thread was created. If we do try to get Kapono, the entire purpose would be ( I think anyways ) that his what 6.5 mill contract would come off the books next year and we'd ship over or switch 2nd rounders one season, and use the cap space we clear next year to go after one of the players I mentioned in a previous thread.

The horrible thing is Kapono for nothing and the Clippers waiting 1 year to spend their cap space is actually a good idea.

BUT, with Tmac almost ready to sign for 20 to 30% of what he made last year OR a blockbuster trade for Chris Paul both possible I'd be SOOO SAD if Kapono is the deal that goes down!!!

Kapono is a complimentary piece that might be nice for the right price. He is an upgrade over Novak. Id offer them a future 2nd round pick, a box of crackerjacks, and a nosebleeds to a clippers game against Minny. Smile

Yeah, it sounds like Stein is simply speculating on what certain teams could use..
