Several other athletes have also taken part, but Thomas is believed to be the first person associated with professional basketball to become involved with the effort. On his Twitter account, Joshua Thomas wrote that his father was the first Hall of Fame athlete to stand up for NOH8. Legendary U.S. Olympic diver Greg Louganis, however, had previously been....

sorry bro, i dont want to get into it but im against gay marriage. I feel they have to righ to be together but they shouldnt call it marriage. I dont agree with changing the definition of a word that is very sacred. Marriage means the union of a man and a women to create life. Man and man cannot create life. women and women cant either. But i do belive thy have the right to be joined but not as marraige.

That's fine. I'm just giving props to Thomas for at least taking a stance when he could have said nothing. A former hall of famer gives his opinion, people listen.

This is the everything else section. This topic involves an NBA Hall of Famer, so it's sports pertinent. But yes, it is political. I'll give you that. On the other hand, no one is forcing you to post here if you'd rather avoid the subject.

Putting aside the message, it begs the question whether any sports celebrities ought to use their fame towards political views (for instance, what if he had the opposite opinion?)
