Despite the culture shock of adjusting to a new country where few people speak English, Guillermo Diaz is playing very well for Nymburk in the Czech Republic.
The Clippers are hoping Diaz can improve his skills this season and so far, the combo guard is doing great, leading the team with 21.4 PPG, while shooting 55 percent from the field and 46 percent from beyond the arc. He's also averaging 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Diaz has been promised a chance to win a job with the Clippers next season.
Meantime, he lives in a world of people who speak Czech and no English. One recent report said that he subscibed to an English Soccer channel, not because he loves soccer, but because they speak English while calling the game.
I call on our Euro Clipper fans to dig in and give us a further update on Guillermo, because these latest reports are now about a month old. Moreover, how about an update on Baby Shaq, who lit up the World Championships this summer. If we do a 3 for 1 trade for AI, these guys might be needed sooner than we thought. Also, we will need guys we can sign to rookie contracts for cheep money. Sterling will be broke if he adds AI's contract. JamFan |
