Just wanted to say i'm happy this place is jumping again. I personally welcome all the new members who have come here over the last week. To all the veteran posters it's good to be back here in the full swing of things again. There hasn't been this much passion, energy and debate in the entire time i've been on this board. So again thanks everyone for contributing and keeping things interesting (even the knuckleheads I hope get banned lol).

The board does seem much livelier and the overall optimism is a lot more pleasant to read. Hopefully I'll feel a bit more at home and post more, since I do read it practically everyday. LOL. I just haven't felt comfortable with any other board since ***** went down.

LOL there is way less optimism even now then when we went into last season with guys like ricky davis and no blake griffin. Id have to agree that this one is really active....but i disagree that there is optimism on this board. All optimism seems to just be shot down. Not to mention any and all threads seem to just turn into baron and kaman bashing...I love that everyone is so active, but i guess that just comes with more negativity. roll

To me, there is more optimism here than the other board I was on, *****. The board crash the year after the playoff run and i've been trying to find a home since. LoL. I wouldn't necessarily call the atmosphere here full of negativity, but moreso strong differing vocal opinions. It makes the board more fun though. What's the point of discussing things if everyone is always agreeing with each other? The back and forth banter is what makes things interesting.

JCDigital-

More losses = More Negativity

More wins = More positivity

If you want an ALL positive board, than you sheould creat an all postive THREAD

I think you just have to accept the good with the bad, and at this point in time, there is more bad than good in Clipper land, but I will say that there are ALOT of "positive upsides" to take away from each game as we seem to be progressing.

It's not positivity or negativity that makes this place lively, it's respectful discussion. Whether you want to say things are great or things are bad, it's easier to do so when you don't have people name-calling and derailing the topic. JMHO.

As one of the more pessimistic members of the site, I have to say that since Baron has been out I've been brimming with optimism... I've always said I didn't need wins to keep me happy... I needed a team that I could root for and players who really brought their best effort.

With Baron out and Bledsoe starting the make a mark, we have that... A few years ago we had Baron, Z-bo and Ricky Davis, three of the five players that I considered the biggest dogs and most over-rated players in the league. Hopefully Baron is now on his way out, or has at least been marginalized.

Z-bo, I must admit has turned himself around, getting in great shape for the first time in his career... And has gone over a full year now without an arrest... Impressive.

But bottom line is, I will root passionately for a team I like, if it has players that are worth rooting for...

I've actually been on ClipsNation for years, but did not know this place existed until there was a fanpost linking to this site....

Same Here! The games have been exciting and played much better than the last few years. I am really excited right no and see great growth each game from the team. I am just dying with anticipation in between games now.

^^^Yep... I was jumping out of my chair in that Utah game... When they went south in the third, I hung in there are hoped they'd turn it around. With Baron in there, I know they would have used it as an excuse to quit. Instead, they worked hard and made it exciting as hell.

When the game was over and they lost, I didn't get down or say, "This team sucks," or my usually rant about how much I hate watching Baron Davis play, and wished I hadn't bothered to tune in... I started looking forward to the next game. I was glad I spent two and a half hours watching the Clippers.

With Gordon, Griffin and Bledsoe, we have a young nucleus that is worth watching even in a loss. Kaman will come around... We are a SF away from being a playoff calibre team... Put Rudy Gay with this group and we'd be an incredibly tough out. So long as Baron stays out of the picture, I will be a happy man and loyal fan.

We are on the verge of something special here. We have the nucleus of a great contender to come. I think Clippersfan86 got it right when he said that the current Clippers roster reminds him of the San Antonio Spurs. I pray that Baron stays out of the line up and that we decide to trade Kaman for some draft picks. Lastly, I hope we can start Aminu and let him run with this team. This will be a great season that is not going to be reflected in the win-loss column.

Absolutely, I think things will change once the team shows progress. Just look at all the positive reaction after the Utah double overtime game. We are not all pessimistic because we want to be, we are pessimistic because there are elements on this team that are bringing it down (cough...Baron).

I am very optimistic of our appraoch, but will not be completely satisfied until we commit fully to developing a young team. I love Kaman, and have confidence in him, but he doesn't fit with this young nucleus. Also, we drafted Aminu, so play him. Bledsoe and Griffin are amazing, and Gordon looks like he can be our closer...what a showing he had in Utah. Mr Olshey, if you're reading this stay the course...go young, and keep em once their contracts are up for renewal.
