I can understand from Olrando's perspective. I think they knew that the roster they had couldn't really compete with the Celtics and the Heat for the top spot in the East. Orlando definitely has a lot of firepower now by adding Richardson, Hedo and Arenas. They are really think up front though. If they lose Howard for any extended period of time, they're going to be in trouble.

I really don't know what Phoenix is going for. At this point in their careers, I think J Rich is just about as good as Vince Carter. I don't think it really improves the Suns and makes them older.

^ I think the suns were going for carter's expiring contract, along with dumping hedo's contract

I think orlando improved talent wise but im not sure what they were thinking by trading their better defenders (petrius, gortat). Im curious how hedo will play after sucking everywhere else too...

I thought that might be it, but I wasn't sure if Carter's deal was up this year.

yup it is, I guess they're just cutting costs, and getting ready to rebuild. OR maybe they'll move that carter expiring to build a contender? we'll see... Very Happy

The Magic likely increased it's scoring potential, something that was sorely needed. Their new group can deal more readily with the Miamis and Chicagos of the world when it comes to putting up points, but when the playoffs happen and they're banging inside with Boston's deep front line the deal may not look so good. I agree with CfS88... certainly against the Celts at least, DHoward goes out and they've got real trouble. They may not be finished with their team's realignment.

yeah I think they'll try and make another trade for an average starting PF or an above average back-up center

I think the trade was great for all teams involved. Helps the Magic, helps the Suns and helps the Wizards.

I'm thinking we need to work some sort of deal to bring in Gerald Wallace.
