The Clippers' Blake Griffin is one of Denver's dream targets in an Anthony trade, but sources told ESPN.com that those overtures have been consistently rejected. The Nuggets have also made numerous attempts to acquire the comparatively unheralded Nicolas Batum from Portland but have been repeatedly rebuffed.

So now that Denver has less leverage, they want a greater return? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Gordon, Kaman, and Aminu's names floating around in trade rumors? And now after seeing what Blake can do, they want him? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Its pretty laughable. We we're saying no on Griffin before the season even started, so I sure as hell can't figure out why Denver might think he's available now.

when i receive offers in 2k11 association mode, it's something laughable such as jonny flynn for blake griffin straight up or evan turner and elton brand for EJ and griffin. i'm thinking, of course this is only a video game so the computer is going to ask for dumb trades. but now, i am convinced it doesn't only happen in computer simulation.

and why are all posts on ESPN about blake griffin leaving in 3 years or that he's upset being on this team? makes no sense. i don't remember exactly, but i'm sure when lebron came into this league, all they talked about was him turning the cavs franchise around. it's pretty sad that ESPN remains to be very much biased and against this team even when we have a once in a generation player trying to turn this thing around. my respect for ESPN lowers each and every day.

These rumors are going to really scare me for the next several years, no matter how laughable they are. It's just natural.

Griffin Is Denver's *Dream* Target in Melo Trade

DREAM is the operative word.

That's funny- why would anyone think the Clippers would trade Blake Griffin? There's no one in the league right now the Clippers would trade him for- no way.

i say keep our team now and give aminu some time to develop to his nba body. i see a lot of potential with what we've got now.

I hope nobody bails out Denver so they lose Melo for nothing and begin their journey to the bottom of the West.

As for Blake, I can't stand it when any team thinks they have a shot at him and when Laker radio hosts, especially Mason and Ireland (arguably two of the biggest idiotic Laker homers), talks about how they can see Blake in a Laker jersey in the future.

Was this even asked solely because they thought the Clippers might actually listen to something like this? I certainly don't think so, but it's in my Clipper soul to wonder.

I AGREE... I was just talking about this. The damn laker media sayin that when Kobe and his ailing knee's contract is up in 3 yrs is when Blake will be available for purple and gold. Along with Bynum contract is done when Dwight Howard is avail.

Most of the reason I can't stand hearing it is because it is actually conceivable:(

I hope we do something in the next couple of years to at least have something to negotiate with!

For now lets just focus on Blake staying healthy!

1.) If that's what Denver wants, tell them to enjoy the bottom of the standings for the next few years and hang up.

2.) Why does everyone think LA gets everybody? Contrary to popular belief, the entire world does not want to play for the Lakers. Remember how LBJ and Bosh were supposed to go to the Lakers? How did that turn out? The Howard/Griffin rumours are even funnier, not only because the Lakers lack cap space, but because the sound of the overinflated ego of LAK fans deflating is going to taste so sweet when Howard or any other "big name" FA does not sign there. Hell, I'll even go on record saying the Clippers have a better chance of landing him than the Lakers do.

^ #2. I too am sick and tired of every Faker fan in the world and all the radio homers talking Griffin to the Lakers. They just can't stand the fact the our team has landed one of those rare talents that come around every decade or so and they think he automaticlaly wants to go there. All MLB players do not want to be Yankees so as ClipYOurWings said, not everyone wants to be a damn Laker.

Carmelo anthony is a cancer...and while i think we would be better with him AND blake i dont think we could be better with him by himself...he has demonstrated time and time again that he cant lead a team

...actually, Howard very well could end up with the Lakers (they seem to attract these HOF centers) if the Magic don't win the big one (and he's hinted at that). He has a player option in 2012/13...and Bynum has a team option in the same year, so.......

First of all, Clippers would never trade Griffin. Second, why would Melo sign an extension with LAC if Griffin goes to Denver?

They'd have to offer not only Melo, and multiple 1st rounders but Ty Lawson and Arron Afflalo just for starters, and Chris Andersen. Griffin could pull more weight in a trade than anyone in the league right now.

What has Howard himself said? The rumours are he might end up in LA. Two teams here, my friend. A lot changes in two years. Again, it's the usual "Warning: Player wants to go somewhere, LA MUST BE AN OPTION!!" crap we've been hearing for 2+ years now. It happened with Chris Paul, it happened with Chis Bosh, it happened with LBJ, and now it's happening with Howard. Hell, it's even happening with Carmelo Anthony at the moment.

So you'll have to forgive me for being skeptical, at best.

These two morons will never give the Clippers any props. Finally the Clips have something going for them with Griffin, and all they want to do is have the Lakers steal him. They will never give the Clippers the spotlight or even share it.

I remembered before the season that Ireland proposes that the Clippers should trade Griffin, Kaman, and Aminu for Melo because he says that the Clippers are unwatchable with their current lineup. Now Ireland is singing a different tune how he can't wait for Griffin to become a Laker when his contract expires. It seems to me someone needs to deflate the helium out of Ireland's Jimmy Newtron bloated head.

Mason is just bitter that he used to work for the Clippers, but they canned his ass. He says that he's officially "divorced" himself from the Clippers which is why he always disrespects them, or maybe he needs to change his tampons once in a while.

It is slowly dawning on the league just how transcendent a talent Blake Griffin is. Obviously he was immediately recognizeable after the initial barrage of stupendous dunks. They brought him to the national... hell, given the immediacy of media, the international stage. And for good reason. Griffin's dunks combine an almost effortless grace, with the sensation of his being able to somehow suspend himself in the air ala Kobe or Michael, followed by jaw dropping power finishes that have inspired head shakes, wide eyes, open mouths, high fives, yelps of shock and the generally widest possible....

Melo needs to wise up. I hate when players say they won'tplay here they won'tdo this. It's a job, and your getting paid 10's of millions of dollars to do it. It's a GAME!!!! Christ if i got paid for playing Playstation 3 I'd be richer than Bill Gates!

Kaman, Aminu + 2-3 first rounders would do it, that's more than fair, and that's more than plenty. However, if Melo wereto come here and sign an extension, I could part with Eric Gordon, Kaman and a 1st rounder. They'd just have to send over someone else of value like Afflalo or Andersen to help sweeten the pot. Maybe JR SMith

Really, all you have to do to subscribe to that logic is find a team with sufficient cap space and something noteworthy about that particular franchise and say "LOOK! Player X wants to play here because of Y. OMG RUMOUR."
