| It's hard to go uptempo when you don't have a fast point guard who can shoot and finish at the basket. Knight is quick but because of his size he has problems finishing. Dickau is not fast and is not a good finisher, and I even question his decision-making on the break sometimes. Cassell is anything but fast. Also to run you first have to get rebounds. With the way the team is getting out-muscled on the boards there's barely any opportunity to run. |

| Honestly, I hate it when people question clippers inability to play like other teams. Seriously, are we trying to copy someone here? Use our strengths and try to put emphasis on those factors, not try to run when we don't even have fast players. why bring up ridiculous ideas like trade for kobe or bet arenas via freeagency. Cmon guys, focus on the team. I just realzied why kaman gets 15 boards a game. it's because no one else helps him! good point david. we need bigger bodies down in the post. i can't wait for brand to come back. |

The Clippers don't have that kind of roster to play an up and down tempo. We barely have any shooters or offense to keep us in the games.
At this point, i am willing to take Wally Sczerbiak, becuase nothing is going to happen overnight. |

Well, in response to that....Im going to disagree with you. You don't need to have a fast point guard to have have an uptempo style.....its all about ball movement....When they started out 4-0 they were up tempo and who was running the show? Good ol' Sam I Am....The slowest PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE...And they were scoring over 100 points a game....has nothing to do with speed (it helps)....but it's mostly ball movement...
Dickau is NOT slow....go look at footage of him when he was a Hornet....he took over! I will not stop saying that I think Dickau should be starting over Brevin Knight....
I respect Knight as a player but I don't think he was a good addition for this team. He was successful as a Bobcat because the players they had were athletic....the clippers are not the most athletic team in the league....I really thought the Clippers should have went after little Earl Boykins, but going back to memory lane is not going to change things right now....
Point being is they can be run and gun, play Suns, Nuggets, whatever you wanna call it....they can play run and gun without a extremely fast point guard... |

Definitely you need ball movement, but a fast point guard is favorable in a run-n-gun offense. I mean if you take Steve Nash or Barbosa out of Phoenix and plug in Sammy in his place, do you think they'd be as good? The Clippers were scoring over 100/game because they were shooting well from the outside + they were getting easy hoops off of turnovers. Just because you win 4 games doesn't mean it's the way you should play the entire season. I mean we saw the results of what happened when they kept trying to run & gun- there aren't enough bullets!
While the run-n-gun offense is great fun, with the Clipper personnel at this point it's better to play half-court a la the Spurs. You have an All-Star caliber center and you want to get him the ball instead of just jacking up shots quickly from the outside. Of course whenever they have an opportunity to run they should take it, but otherwise run the offense and don't settle for a long jumper early in the shot clock. |

As some of you say I think we don't have the players to play a run and gun style and still more more important: we don't have the coach to play this way. We aren't enough quick to think that we can play this way, specially at the PG position and the center position. I'm with David that our game is more similar with the spurs style although is obvious we don't have any Tony Parker nor a Tim Duncan nor a Manu Ginobili, nor a Greg Popovic.
And about Dickau I think he's playing well in the minutes he has but we can't think he will be the turning point when he was the 4th guard in Portland last year behind Roy, Jack and Rodriguez. |

| Sam and Cat are too slow. I don't think we can run and gun without Brand. Also Thornton has to step up and Corey has to take care of the ball, not play like a rhino. We need Dicacu to step up because Knight has no offense and they have to collapse on Dan when he drives. - Ye of little faith! Also we need CK to be able to keep up the pace (remember he played almost the whole game once.) Hopefully he can make a lot of bigs gas. Will our new guy be able to hit from outside? Will Thomas at least attempt to run? A tall order but guess what. It can be done if we get the majority. |

David nailed it. I was one of those that rooted for the fast paced offense early on but i have to admit i was wrong. I never thought Kaman would be the monster that he is and since he is, I say stick with the old game plan till further notice.
When you run n' gun you end up losing your defensive edge and in our case we have no edge. I say concentrate on the D and use the low post just like last year. Now that Brand is able to shoot around in practice, all is not lost. Considering everything that has happened with injuries we are not that far off. Just look at the overall standing in the West. Some of the contenders are having their own problems as well and some of them teams have no injuries.
I still see this as manageable so let's just hold on tight and hope Brand returns on schedule. Who knows maybe we get an early Christmas gift and get him back in early February...only 45 + days till then. Hey, wishful thinking never hurt anyone. |

| Yup I agree guys- we just don't have the personnel and maybe even the right coach (as Miquel alluded to) to run. I like your optimism CJ- I just hope the Clippers can pull out some close games against +.500 teams and take care of business against weaker teams. It's going to be tough, but getting guys like Cassell & Thomas back will definitely help replenish the bullets. |

Not being that optimistic. I am just looking at the other teams like Denver and Houston and maybe the Hornets
who have also endured a losing streak. I am being more optimistic in hopes the good teams keep falling up until we can get our guys back. I know it's wishful thinking but as long as they keep losing, our hopes are still alive. |
