I think there'd be more chance of us trading Kaman.

Since DJ has responded well to being a starter, there should be a lot of teams that would say they are interested in him. Doubt the Clippers let him walk the way they used to let players walk in the past. Hopefully DTS is prepared to spend money this summer and not be the tightwad we all know him to be.

Not much of an epiphany to hear the Knicks want Deandre. There's about 15 other teams that want Deandre.

He's gonna be a millionaire in 6 months, his best buddy is a rock star, he starts for the most exciting team in the league, and he gets to live in L.A.

He'll be ecstatic when we match the offer he gets.

It's going to suck for us. I have a feeling he's going to get a huge inflated contract like an Andre Blatche or Brendan Haywood because we all know talented 7 footers are rare and overpaid. I hope this doesn't happen or it may not allow us to keep the entire core. We may end up losing Aminu or Bledsoe due to cap restrictions down the line.

I'm not an expert but there is some kind of rule that limits what a 2nd round draft pick can be offered in his first contract after the rookie deal. Gilbert Arenas rule....I think the max starting salary is the mid level...From there, I don't know what kind of yearly raises are allowed or even if there is any governance of that but I don't it's possible to offer him a max deal.

Dude, unfortunately the "Gilbert Arenas rule" does not apply to DJ as he has been with us for more then 2 yrs ( see Ramon Sessions)....he can get much more then the MLE...

Until the new CBA is introduced all these talks about what can be offered and what can't be offered are subject to change.

When I read this i was think that maybe walsh is trying to threaten going after DJ to maybe back the clips into a corner so that they would have to help the knicks in the melo sweepstakes. They have been trying to get some picks and we know what picks denver wants.

They want picks from a team that gonna finish low. We know most teams covet the minny pick. I think it's a bluff.

If we took on one of their players they get melo and that takes a huge chunk of their money and a potential suitor out of the running. The Clippers are pretty slick thou when it comes to the logistics of the NBA, and not ending up on the bad side of most trades.

Just a thought.

Think this may be possible they could just want our first rounder this year.

I hope that the reason our payroll is 27th in the league is there is cushion built in for when our kids grow up and demand big bucks. I am a Dodger fan too and I ssee that hapenning now with that team. OUr Dodger kids are all grown up and into the part of thier careers where they all need raises and can be paid because of the low payroll. I hope the CLips are low for the same reason (I doubt it but I can dream,,right?).

So there's going to be a lockout starting the day after the finals...Doesn't that mean DJ will be a restricted free agent only after the new CBA is in place? Gotta believe that would be good for us....

Knicks probably want him to trade him to Denver as part of a deal for Melo. I doubt he leaves LA to go to New York. 1, the Knicks are never going anywhere. 2, it'snicer in LA. 3, we have Gordon and Griffin, and have posted a winning record since I believe Dec 1 on. Our team has nowhere to go but up. New York will continue to hover around mediocrity for years until Amare starts fading out of the picture. I doubt the addition of DJ propels the Knicks past, Boston, Orlando, Atlanta, Miami or Chicago. Would you really wanna be on a 6-8 seed team that is more than likely going to get swept every year? Or would you wanna stay on a team that seriously has more potential than any team in the league to rise to the top? You've also got a giant fan base surrounding you, loads of press and will more than likely be our starter for years.

Agreed. What a glorious pick that was for Memphis.

I think if DTS makes him a decent offer, he would prefer to stay with the Clips and his buddy Blake. He fits well with the Clippers.

DJ was one of my favorite Clippers when he rode the bench, I would be hot!!! He's not leaving though BG is his best friend. It's the NBA "where playing with your best friends happen" haha.
