Hear me out before you bite my head off here. I love the Cippers, and they will always be my favorite team. But as I live right on the boarder of Orange County and Los Angeles County I feel it acceptable to be a fan of both teams. I live in Whittier which is about 30 mins from LA and 30 mins from Anaheim. I am a former season ticket holder for the Anaheim Ducks so I have ties with the Honda Center. I have been attending games at the Honda Center and Staples Center since I was a kid. I dont see a problem with supporting 2 NBA franchises (unless of course they are playing the Clippers). So my question to you, how will you feel about the Anaheim Royals if this does go down and where will your stance be as a fan on this matter?

So with that said, Go Clips Go Royals!

Post this again in a year when they are really here.

I might watch a few games, attend a few, and gripe about the how they might be champs if they can get a player like Baron.

Everyone has a 2nd team they like or at least enjoy watching play, you guys don't have to lie.... There are plenty of laker fans on this board but u don't give them sh*t for it. Im just as loyal as the next clippers fan and they will always be my team

I am a hardcore Clippers fan but i would have a hard time not becoming a Royals fan as well if they came down to the Pond (Honda Center). I live in south Orange County so its a haul even to the Pond, but to have a team that much closer would be awesome.

Also, the Clippers and Kings never have had a real rivalry or animosity between them, so that makes it easier.

If it was the Lakers moving down, that would be a no brainer... hell no!

I root for the Spurs during the playoff as my team is not there (well once ). I am not a SPurs fan nor do I root for them at any other time (well that is a lie,,against the Lakers I do) but the reason I picked them is first,,,Silver and Black baby,,,,second, I liked Robinson.

The answer to the OP question is no. I probably live as close to both places (perhaps a bit closer to Staples) but if I wanted to be a Kings,,,,err,,,Royals fan I would already be one.

I don't think so, I may watch a couple games on TV. I'll stick with the Clippers and then the Thunder during the playoffs. I'm still surprised that the Maloofs wouldn't consider other places in Northern California like San Jose.

The only teams I sort of care about in any fashion outside of the Clippers are the Raptors and maybe the Magic, or whoever Courtney Lee plays for because I have a personal connection with the dude and he's awesome. So I guess right now that would be the Rockets.

Would I care for the Royals? Assuming they're in our division.....no.

I dont really have a 2nd team. I just root against the team I like the least. I'll always go against the Heat thought.... DAMN YOU LEBRON!

Only reason I'll be rooting for the Kings to move here is so we get 2 more games we can watch. Knowing the Kings, they're basically 2 extra home games for both the Clips and the Lakers.

Will Fox Sports add a Sub Prime for the Royals?

if the franchise keeps the Kings name in Sac then those fans should be glad. Evans, and Cousins are both overrated and that team is terrible!

if the Kings come back in a few years and start a OKC type thing then they should be fine.

can't say the same for Super Sonics after losing KD lol

It's funny I did a little browsing and they already have a few Anaheim royals forums up.

BTW, I think the fact that this thread even exists is probably part of the reason people think Clipper fans suck.

They're gonna have to until the Lakers leave for their own network after next season; even if they can an over-the-air TV partner (I put my money on KDOC Channel 56, since Ducks owner Henry Samueli owns part of the station), there might be nights where the Lakers, Clippers, Royals (or even hockey or college sports) are playing at the same time.

DirecTV has alternate feed set up for Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket, but it's been never used.

As to original question...not a chance in hell I'll become an Anaheim Royals fan. I'll watch a few games here and there simply because I'm a basketball fan, but if the RoyalKings are bringing their crybaby broadcasters with them, I'm definitely staying away.

There's absolutely no point in he** in being a Sacramento Kings fan. That's what they are, the Sacramento Kings, disguised as some new team in Orange County, still 35 miles away from Staples.

Any team that doesnt have DTS as owner will have a good chance at success here in socal, even with 2 other teams already here.

I would route for them, until their fans start acting like laker fans. That being said, id only have one team, my beloved torture of a team, the Clippers. But i dont see any problem if people like them as a second team. As a matter of fact, if Gordon leaves, Griffin leaves, i wouldnt be suprised if people gave up on this team and became Royals fan. Could happen...

Nah, probably not. I don't really love the current Kings team. They have a couple of nice players, but nobody that gets me too excited. Given that, along with the fact I have no real connection to the O.C. (I am from and live in L.A.), I can't see myself becoming much of a Royals fan -- even as my 2nd team.

But I have no problem with someone who want to root for more than one team -- as long as they pull for the Clipps when the two teams play.

Sacramento has a deal in place to present to the maloof's brother. The kings might not be leaving after all. we'll see!

Since I will never go to any of the games and will never buy any of the Clipper or Royal consumerism items or pay to watch either on TV or any other media, I'll welcome another FoxSports game to record.
