WTF is up with this guy? First he insults the Bulls and says "Derrick Rose is the Bulls. Without him they aren't sh**".

Now after tonight's game he had this to say about our team.

"It's a game we had to win," Terry said. "They're a bad team. They're not a good team. "It's a good team (Thursday)."

I don't understand the last sentence. He's contradicting himself. But we ARE a bad team record-wise...

He means a BAAAAAD team.

One of my favorite quotes which I'll use in another post applies to Terry. If you don't remember Leon Spinks he was the guy who beat Ali and spoiled his retirement. He was straight out of the slumiest part of the ghetto and had the IQ and breeding of a shoelace. Somebody mentioned to Richard Pryor that Spinks wasn't real smart. Pryor repiled in his usual Pryorness something like

"His job is to hit a MF in the head, not be smart." Terry's job is to put a leather sphere through a metal hoop, not be smart.

Oh he also said this about the Suns "this team is not good at defense, we need to punish them".

And... He said "The Spurs will be easy to catch" in regards to this years standings.. as well as when asked about the Lakers "We aren't worried about the Lakers". He's just a di** basically.

Whatever, I like that attitude. As an NBA team, you should have that attitude. We're the biggest baddest team in the NBA, we don't worry about anybody, everybody should worry about us.

clippers definitely need a talker like that. although, tough talk doesn't equate to toughness as mavs were called soft by jim carrey, their head coach.

If we're such a bad team, you shouldn't need the refs' help to beat us.

God, I hope Dallas doesn't get Portland in the first round, because I wouldn't know who to root against!

I'd be rooting for some kind of natural disaster to destroy the arena...

He's just bitter because he went 2 for 11 tonight. There is one more game against them this season. Let's hope the Clips set them back from taking the 2nd spot in the playoffs.

Obviously, the refs did not want the Mavs to lose this game.

It's an opinion, so take it with a grain of salt

But at the same time, why get offended?

He's right.......If Derrick Rose wasn't with the Bulls, where would they be this year?

PHX doesn't play defense and we are a bad team.

What's to argue?

If a Clipper were to say that about his team, you'd agree, but if it's an opponent, y'all get offended.

I cant say I'm thrilled with what he said, but our front office is more to blame here. Every year they assemble crappy teams, and until we get a good team that can produce wins we will continue to be the laughing stock of the NBA. This is why Im so critical of the front office, and it's exactly why I get angry when we bring in guys like Gomes, Foye, Cook, Steve Blake, Outlaw..etc. These are moves that realistically will make no impact, but yet the front office makes them...

Im not angry for people criticizing our team, but I am angry that other clipper fans don't hold our front office accountable and call an acquisition as it really is. In fact the consensus that I've seen is that many clipper fans are very loyal and chose to support the moves...I remember when we picked up Gomes, Foye, and Cook last summer..I was furious, but the overwhelming majority here were content and supportive of the moves.

It would be nice, but let's be honest this Dallas team is not the same one that started red hot with Caron Butler, and now even San Antonio is without Tim Duncan...how is it that everything always works out for our cross town rival.

Its fine...his team will get booted out in the playoffs again like they have for the past 11 seasons....11 seasons in a row with 50+ wins and NO championship, talk about choke artists.

Sorry, I don't pay attention to comments from a guy who only scored 6 points and 2 for 11 shooting in the game.

glad you said yet because we suck right now. but we are right on the cusp of being a good team. then in a few years, IF we can keep this group together, we can even be a great team.

Just jealous that our team has a true budding NBA superstar and they don't. I expect the hate to be spewn by all the losers that don't have a Griffin on thier roster.

I was thinking the same thing a lot last night when I had to sit in front of a family of Dallas fans (who were constantly talking **** throughout the game), but then I realized that's similar to what Laker fans tell other fans after the Lakers lose and the other team has no rings...

I'd gladly have Dallas' post season appearance frequency any day of the week with our team.

At least the Lakers have rings. If their fans are cocky take it with a grain of salt because they are proven. Fans of the Mavs, Jazz.. Thunder etc that are unproven teams or choke teams need to STFU and not talk smack. In fact I get into it more with these fans than true contending fans like Spurs, Lakers and Celtics fans. The bully is always the bullied kid. Meaning the fan of teams that get punked by the biggest fish in the sea always want to try to punk the ones under them.

I don't think its a big deal. Maybe his word choice could have been better, but he's basically saying that, they're in a race for playoff position, so they can't afford losses to teams with losing records - especially with the Lakers coming up the following night. We have a losing record -- and by a pretty wide margin. It it what it is. But I do agree with the people who say the Mavs aren't going anywhere. I'm not a believer in that team. They're purely a jump shooting team. They may have improved inside defensively, but they have no offensive low post threat whatsoever. That's not going to cut it in the playoffs.

Not that it's a big deal but it's something worth talking about considering how abrasive it was. Not to mention he's dissed like 7 other teams this year in this fashion. He hasn't done sh** lately. Even Mavs fans are sick of his playoff disappearing act.

I hear you. I just think Terry's one of those dude's with no filter between brain and mouth. He just says whatever he thinks and doesn't chose his words carefully. But let him keep running his mouth. He's the one the ends up looking dumb when the team loses or he underperforms.

Very true. I guess I have an old fashioned mentality. I'm big on respect and sportsmanship. I love honest, blunt players but you gotta know limits. For example I love KG's and Noah's honesty. They rarely go into personal attacks on teams/players but tell it like it is. Terry instigates opposing teams and trashes their players which is completely different.

I like Jason Terry, he's a great player. I've always been partial to him since his coming into the NBA. Not exactly sure what he means as his grammar and use of proper english seems to elude him. I guess that Arizona education hasn't paid off.

Terry is lucky to be on a team like Dallas. I think more players need to come out and say that they are lucky they are part of a team full of great players, that has great coaching and great front office management to help this team be a winning team.

Are we bad? No. Are we great? No. Are we good? I'd say were good, but we don't have a good record. We've got 2 giant burning bright spots, 2 former All-Stars, and a slew of young talent. We'll be better next year.

And if D Rose is the Bulls, then Dirk Nowitzki is the Mavs. SORRY JASON, if Dirk missed the year, you'd probably miss the playoffs.

He maybe a douche bag, but he's right. Look at our record. Until that changes, we are still the losing Clippers we always were. New coach, new jersey new team and we still havent gotten nowhere. Our team is currently bad. Until we prove otherwise we shouldnt put ourselves in the level of any of these pkayoff team. Not opinion, just fact. We suck. Every other team fan can say that, we just ignore it. If u wanna know the truth ask someone that isnt bias and not a clipper fan.

We're definately not a good team, and we're defaintely a team with very good players. I feel VDN is the key and we will always massively underachieve under him, just like the Bulls. Our coaching just isn't there. You look at teams with realtively weak rosters like the Rockets who have had to deal with ridiculous injuries and they're always a threat. It's got so much to do with the coach.

This was definitely just a thread where I got a bit defensive and I can admit that. Like you guys are saying it's pretty much true. I thought about it for a while and like Dunc is saying... we are a bad team with very good players. In this league to be able to say you have the talent to beat anyone.. and not do so is a negative, not a positive. I'm personally getting sick of having to justify to myself and others that the Clippers SHOULD or COULD be better than they are. I'm sick of excuses and making them myself. This team better make progress next season or I'm going to need a long break. It's starting to wear on me.

I don't expect wins at this point in the season but I sure as hell expect our guys to fight.. play with sense and look like they want to win.
