WAIT! Before you go all nuts on me like WTF are you talking about Kaman & Aminu hater... here's the twist...

In other major sports, players with team or player options tend to opt out of their contracts, to re-sign with their current team, for a long term deal, that is cheaper.

Mo has a player option this year, and next seasons as well. If we can convince Mo were winners, and we will sign him for say, 5 years 33 mill, or something like that... and tell him we will need the extra cap space from his 9 mill + a year salary to retain DJ, give Gordon, Griffin, Bledsoe, Aminu & Kaman new contracts, maybe he'd do it for the better of the teams sake.

Mo is a nobody if he isn't on a contender, or has a human highlight player like Blake on a team. A nobody in the sense, he won't get press coverage by being on sports show highlight reels, and he'll just be wasting away in a place like Milwaukee, where he was before.

Mo has a chance here to do something great for himself ( securing a long term contract by opting out, re-signing for a bit cheaper, but maintaining a stable job for the next 4-5 years ) and something great for the team, cutting his salary = being able to pay Gordon, Griffin and the others the big money they deserve and we will need to retain them, without going too far over the salary cap, and breaking the bank.

It's a dream, but a good one and I think this would be highly awesome if this happened. Would make paying DJ and other players high salaries easier to swallow.

Mo doing this isn't as unrealistic as trading for John Wall. Dream scenarios would be to somehow get CP3 here while keeping Gordon N Griffin, as well as DJ so someone can play the 5 spot.

This isn't uncommon in the sports world, recently AJ Hawk's contract wasn't picked up by GB, instead he signed a 5 year long-term deal ( I believe it was like 5 years 35 mill ) so it's a bit cheaper for the Packers, and allows them to keep a key player on their team.

Actually, since olshey was SO HAPPY that he got mo and he was so confident that mo was a perfect fit, that he waived off mo's player option for this year

-_- enjoy

Lisa Dillman's Tweet:

Reported on day of LAC-CLE trade that Mo Williams waived his ETO as part of deal. Williams said today waiver is for this season only.

  • this was posted a few weeks after the trade.

imho gordon is affected of mo's style of play if you all notice. gordon losing his fire and seems dis-oriented for the past games. but i noticed he plays well with bledsoe. this team, with blake and gordon in the floor needs a PG like kidd or CP

Bledsoe is the PG of the future. Did you see him goaltend! His passes are becoming crisp and his decision making is better over the last two games. In two years we'll want to move Mo'

[quote="ekker3"]thereExactly you can find a mo williams. It would be a blessing for him to opt out. That trade with Cleveland would be one of the best trades ever actually if mo opts out. We would have so much salary cap available. Mo is just a stop gap from our future point guard, nothing against bledsoe but im still not sure if he will be that or a really nice change of pace guard for the clippers. Also I would rather have mo on this team then baron. With gordon as our 2 guard for hopefully many years I would want a bigger point guard.

A Kobe jersey bet that Bledsoe isn't a monster 2012-13. And I mean wearing it in public.

People are huge on bledsoe and for the most part down on Aminu not sure why. This year all you need to see is glimpses of Aminu freakish talent. If he gets stronger which he will. He can shoot threes which have fallen off but you can see the potential there. He plays solid D and rebounds very well with his gumby arm length. His handles would improve with his strength. If he works hard he has all the upside in the world. His work ethic shows based on his shooting with ben gordon to all hours of the night during the summer league games. PLus he is a chief

so whats that mean

it means he has a guaranteed contract for the 2011-2012 season, and he cannot opt out. He can only opt out for the 2012-2013 season

Mo is with us for the duration of his deal. Two more years is a good amount of time to measure Bledsoe's ceiling.
