Something to think about. Ancient Egyptian Pyramids like Giza as well as other massive sculptures cannot be duplicated right now with our technology. The top Architects have said they cannot recreate the Sphinx. The only way to get such precision shapes in Granite are with top of the line industry level drills. Stonemasons have said they can't make duplicates with their own hands. Each block used for The Great Pyramid of Giza weighed up to 80 tons or 160,000 pounds. The strongest tractor or crane in the world cannot lift that much. The wheel was not even invented or in use at that time. So the question is... how did men move stones that big up to 500 miles from rock quarries?

Current dating methods actually point to the possibility that maybe the true age of Giza and other great Pyramids is around 10,500 BC. BEFORE the Egyptians.

Some say the Egyptians did not build the pyramids and the age of the pyramids is older than we think. Throughout history, there have been references to "sky gods" and flying machines. Many people think there is a possibility the builders of the pyramids either had help from extraterrestrial beings or were at least helped by them. It is inconceivable mere muscle power could have transported those huge stones and lifted them hundreds of feet in the air. Some say they stones were placed on huge wooden rollers, but there are not many trees in Egypt.

Certain facts point to external influences. One fact is the pyramid is exactly lined up with magnetic north, but the Egyptians did not have compasses for this. Another factor is that it supposedly took hundreds of thousands of workers to build it and that many people were not available at that time. Also, there is mention of the pyramid in early hieroglyphic writings that predate the time we assume it was built.

Early writings also mention beings coming from the sky. Egyptians were very good about keeping records of everything they did, from wars to construction, but there are no writings about them building the pyramids.

nothing would suprise me, i'm with you. as a former construction supt. and carpenter, i can add some clarity to this. when i finished a building project, we didn't leave any tools or unfinished material around. and we certainly didn't write a story about it on the side of the building we just built! and until just 50 years ago, astronaut wasn't even in our vocabulary of regular items to understand. so i don't understand why the so called "experts" think they know better and what happened, since they were'nt there when this happened to begin with! it's all their spin on things, and now that we have more tech. savy than ever, people are finally getting the picture that something else must have been in place for them to have built what they did, but with what is the biggest question remaining.

Loyal thanks for the insight. I think it's just awesome how much we don't know. I'm amazed at the fact that 3000-10000 years ago things were built that we can't do today to the same scale.

I think the government plays a big role in this. If the pyramids were really built by a non-human source, don't you think Egyptologists, who practically spend their entire lives trying to figure this stuff out, would have already found this stuff out? With the technology we have now nowadays, some scientific breakthrough must have occurred. If scientists did discover that the pyramids were in fact not built by the ancient Egyptians and by aliens, I think the government would try to cover it up. The government tries to cover up everything alien related and what not.

My thoughts are that yes, the pyramids could have possibly been built by aliens because a lot of scientists say happened, doesn't add up. But what if the Egyptians were really that intelligent and crafty enough to really build these giant structures that modern construction workers who have all these tools, can't build? I'm flabbergasted at how the strongest crane or tractor in the world can't lift these 80 ton stones that apparently men back in the Egyptians times, could.

Government has no reason to randomly cover up the 7th world wonder of the world. It was there before modern government. Besides they know we don't have evidence of anything like supernatural assistance in the building of the pyramids, so no need for a cover up. I think within the next 10 years the truth on these things will come out.

Oh come on, the government has every right to try and cover up something that could possibly have to do with extraterrestrials or something supernatural. When people can't piece information together about certain things, they speculate around aliens. Don't ask me why but the government just loves to cover up anything alien related. Area 51, pilots seeing odd objects in the sky, UFO's in Mexico, the list goes on. That's just my opinion. I mean, whenever I see or read something that is pushing aliens into the equation (such as this) I think "Oh that makes sense. Maybe the government is trying to cover it up."

But you know what, you have been on this earth longer than I have so you probably have a much better understanding of this than I do.

If I may ask, did you read, hear, or see something that sparked your interest in this or is this something that has always boggled your mind and you wanted others thoughts on this?

Also, CF86, do you believe in aliens?

I started a Paranormal research group and have been studying them for 5+ years extensively so yea. As for the coverup... the ONLY time you see coverups taking place is when you have multiple eyewitness accounts they need to hush. All of the events from Roswell... to Mexican UFO's... to Area 51 have witnesses. Nobody alive today has extraterrestrial proof related to the pyramids and obviously no eyewitnesses remain from 10,000+ years live today.

BTW these are just my opinions. Hopefully I don't come off as arrogant. If so sorry 8)

I just looked it up and it seems like a really good book. The author's name is Erich Von Daniken. I am going to rush to Barnes and Noble as soon as I can to get it. I love to read and I'm constantly looking for something new so thank you.

Lol, you've never come off as arrogant. Well to me at least. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone should respect others opinions even if they don't agree with them. That's how I see it.

I love this show, I think I've seen every episode. As far as the ancient astronaut theory and aliens goes, there truly isn't any definitive proof that aliens exist, but its ancient structures and sculptures, sightings and stories throughout the millenias that really have to get the question in your head, what if?

the thing is, the pharaohs wanted these pyramids built, no matter the cost. they spent years, and MILLIONS of people building these. 24/7 there would be work going on. the people would usually die in a couple of days ( because they never got any rest), and so the pharaoh would send in new workers, and that cycle went on until it was completed.

also, the thing with this is that the earth has changed so much from the ancient Egyptian times, that for all we know, there could have been trees there. and why is it that they had to move the big blocks? they could have taken the building material to the locations that they needed to build the blocks, and just built them right there on the spot, no need to move anything.

They showed recently that there was a possible port located very close to the Pyramids themselves, and with the Nile not flooding for a period of time, which eventually led to a massive downfall in ancient Egypt, the port/river/lakedried up and the few palm trees and potential shops, houses etc just turned to dust over thousands of years while the Pyramids stood strong.

I highly doubt it was a heavily wooded area. There'd be a lot more evidence. I'm not sold on ancient aliens but I'm also not sold that cultures way back when can move objects that big, carve objects and move them into precise spots and those building mechanics were lost and have NEVER been repeated in history. Even today the stones and blocks in different parts of the world that make up walls, perfectly fitted blocks, structures etc would be monumental tasks even with the modern day sophisticated equipment we have today, and they said it'd take them a lot longer than what, the 20 years it took to build the largest pyramid, the numbers we have from who and what and how long it took to build the pyramids dont add up at all. Let alone these other structures like those found in South America, England, India, etc etc.

Follow the money...

The group that stands to lose the most from a 'discovery' of this type is organized religion, not government. If there are creatures out there that are more intelligent than us (which they'd have to be to master interstellar travel) it stands to reason that we were not created in the image of god; that we are in no way 'special'.

Monotheistic religions date back in excess of 5,000 years and they hold documents almost that old. They only release and promote the ones that further their own stranglehold on humanity's curiosity of our history and purpose. There are literally hundreds of texts known as the apocrypha which were once considered to be just as holy as today's bible, that were banned and considered heretical by the first council of Nicaea, a meeting that was held in 325 AD, essentially to form a strong bond between the Christians and the Roman empire.

Other holy texts were found among the dead sea scrolls, but the Catholic church refuses to acknowledge them as legitimate. There have even been claims that the gospel of Jesus (in his own words) exists in the Vatican's vaults.

But why would they release a document that robs them of their power to interpret what is, at best, a very disparate collection of accounts of our past?

For my money, I believe that the hierarchy of organized religion breaks the most fundamental rule of spirituality - they claim they are closer to god than the rest of us. They take the moral high ground while completely ignoring their own tenets.

The Jesus that comes through to me from reading the new testament wouldn't stand for priests molesting children, would balk at the idea of the church being the wealthiest entity on earth and would be far more concerned with war and world hunger than gay marriage and abortion.

Help us little green men... you're our only hope!

Hopefully the little green......or grey, or whatever the hell colored little guys don't kill everyone. I watched every episode of Ancient Aliens, and the more I watched.......the more I kept staring at that Dec. 21st 2012 date in my mind. IMO, the Ancient Astronaut Theorists from the show almost seem to like the idea of these extraterrestrials being a race of evil malevolent beings. These fools need the suicide hotline bigtime. The show really seemed to focus on UFO sightings being more prevalent around natural disasters, the misinterpretation of religious stories based on the destruction of entire civilizations, and just.....death.

The show was like.......every modern discovery within the last 75 years can be almost directly related to a particular group of German Scientists from WWII, and they may have had help. Then they'd cue music like it's all mysterious or whatever. Then, suddenly, boom!! ANYWAYS, BACK TO THE FLOODS THAT NEARLY ENDED MANKIND IN WHATEVER THE HELL B.C.!! It's like, c'mon man! What about the help?!! Talk about the help!! Even though the show seems to cater to the idea of man's demise, I still love watching it.

I grew up Catholic, and a few years ago I dated a bible thumper Christian. I was never really into the church scene, but she convinced me to go with her a couple of times. The first time I attended her church she told some guy there that this was my first time at a Christian church. The guy asked me what denomination I was. I told him I grew up Catholic, and the guy said, "Oh.......I'm sorry." He was acting like my life started that very day, and everything that I ever stood for was some big sham. I thought it was only him, but EVERYONE there was just like that. I think more than anything........after remembering all of those BITTCSH mades and their stupid holier than thou attitudes.......I truly hoped that the Ancient Astronaut Theory would eventually debunk everything those clowns stood for. Every religious story I saw on the Ancient Aliens series that I saw made me chuckle a bit when I listened to those Astronaut Theorists talk about how off the interpretations were.

Those stones u are talking about weighed from 4 to 300 tons apiece. The masons might know but they aint telling because you don't want to know the truth about the pyramids. Masonry originated in Egypt so of course they know. Some things have to be kept sacred.

U were aware that they just discovered 17 more pyramids, correct.

Factoid: There are twice as many pyramids in Nubia than Egypt.

Factoid:There are twice as many mounds and pyramid structures in america than all of egypt.

I do believe that Aliens are really where we came from, but some of the things on that show kinda speculate too much about what they do. I don't believe they control the weather like they said in one episode and that guy Jonathon with the crazy hair says Aliens did everything!

There's this thing called the fermi paradox which raises many questions about extraterrestrial life and makes the whole "aliens helped build the pyramids" speculation doubtful.

The gist of the fermi paradox is that considering the age of the cosmos relative to the age of our own sun, if aliens or a form of life we consider intelligent exists, then we would already be colonized by them.

We as humans have become an "intelligent" species and thrive by a very very young sun. Therefore, taking into account the vast size and age of the cosmos, other "intelligent" species should have evolved and been around for a very very long time.

And it is certain that a percentage of these "intelligent" species would need a constant source of resources, like us. This would inevitably lead to colonization of other galaxies.

Since it can be almost certain that another "intelligent" species exists and is millions of years ahead of us in terms of technology, our galaxy should already be colonized, even taking into account the millions of years of travel required.

Since our galaxy is not colonized, the only other option would be that there is no other "intelligent" species, which logically couldn't make sense, but this is why it's called the fermi PARADOX.

And it would be outrageous for an "intelligent" species, who would have to travel for at least 50 million years just to reach us, to help us build some pyramids. If an alien race would travel that far just to "help us", they would definitely do more than help us lift some big rocks.
