We pick up Iguodala, sign Prince to a 3 year MLE (if it's still an option), and I will feel very confident going forward with our 3 rotation.

i feel better now with andre at the 3 with prince behind him... just seems like we could play both of them together on the feild at the same time at times and it would just work wonders for us

even though neither of these guys are very good, and neither of them are the type of SHOOTERS we need....I say that would be a pretty good upgrade over Gomes/Aminu

I hope the Clips do get Prince because it seems that the Warriors are trying to do a trade for Iggy in exchange for Ellis according to Ric Bucher.

With Iggy's fat contract and mediocre outside shooting it might not be terrible if we miss out on him. I still like him a lot but first priority would be a decent defender who can knock down outside shots or just someone who can knock down outside shots and play better than Kyle Korver DSmile

I'd rather have T.Prince than Iggy really. He's a proven winner and I think brings better D and leadership. I think we can do better for 14 mil. a year.

yeah $14 million is nearly the top 30 salary bar and I dont think he quite makes the cut.

The chances of getting Prince are much greater IMO, then acquiring Iggy.....don't think the FO was ever going in that direction....just my 2 cents.

Why don't we mix it up for Ellis. Can't we offer something better than Iggy? How about Kaman and Aminu for Ellis.

I think they'll take what they can get. Signing Prince would be a move made after the lockout. Fall back option according to Olshey's talks with the STH's. He said he wanted to do something before July. Can't sign Prince before July. He's talking trades as the primary goal.

We are NOT GETTING ELLIS...we do not need a player like that and we have no place to play him! Basically it is 90% sure we are getting Prince as our starting SF...and with him we are heading for another 35 win season as he basically offers nothing but some D and occasional 3ptr!

I can't wait to see him put up those ''massive'' 15pts 1rb 1ass 1st in 35 min.

Signing Prince has to be a secondary move. Hopefully after we sign a serious PG

mo will 14-16

ej 22.3+

tay prince 14-16

blake 22+

kaman 13+

dj 7-8

thats almost 90 pts a game from our starters (if you include dj haha) we don't need someone to put up big numbers, we need someone who can score when he needs to, play d and get a couple boards and assists, all of which Prince will do, i think he's exactly what we need. stop being so negative

There are no "serious" PG's to sign this year.

He's maybe talking trades...just don't think Iggy to the Clipp's is going to happen was my point.

Why are you being such a negative nancy? do you know how many games we lost by under 10pts while getting absolutely nothing from the SF position? 15 pts would be amazing while getting good D out of him! add in his career average 4.7 RPG and 2.7 APG and were its like having 8 Gomes' out there!

id settle for 15, 4, and 3 of 0, 0, 0 any day of the week!

Actually the SF position was ranked 26 and produced: 14.6 PPG, 7.4 REB, FG% .399, 3PT% .338 in 51.6 min....not good.

I have read from a reliable source that warriors is going to trade MONTA ELLIS and they want a big man in return.I'd much rather do a 3 team trade and have the team receiving Ellis send him to the Clips.

uhhm...., thoughts?

*cough* Er|c &ord0n*cough* excuse me.

Even tho that would be a good deal offc, EJ for ellis, not that awesome, but good, i don't think it will happen, as the clips want to show Blake that they are building a team around him. I think a defensive SF would be a great asset, but yeh prince shouln't be our first option, but its definetely not our worst.

I am no negative, I am being realistic...you guys went from wanting a shooter at SF from being excited about Rudy Freaking Gay to being happy with Prince. Prince is a veteran leader, but he is not even a 3rd option shooter! That leaves us with what we had last year - Blake, EJ, Mo!

Tayshaun would be a good fit for this club because he brings much more than scoring. If you look at his stats last year sure his scoring was only 14.1 PPG, but he posted 4.2 RPG, and a very decent 2.8 APG. Those numbers are not whoping, but they sure are better than what Aminu, Gomes, or anyone at the small forward position we currently have on the roster are capable of.

What really stands out are his rebounds and assists, so his lack of offensive production will be offsett by his ability to keep the ball in our posession through rebounds as well as his ability to create for others through his assists.

Also, he doesn't have to be great scorer because Blake will no doubt average 22 PPG, EJ will also have similar numbers, and Mo will probably chip in somewhere between 14-16PPG. We need to bring in guys that can do more than simply score. Tayshaun can provided a lot of fundamentals, and he is a really good fit here

Which is pretty damn close to what Prince's career averages are... add on a few more stats from aminu or gomes(if he can figure out how to play basketball again) and we would be solid at the SF position

I agree...plus Prince is a much better shooter.

Prince with an MLE for 3 years.

Kaman + Gomes for Iguodala and Speights.

We all win.

^ very true, and his experience will be huge!!! between him and Mo both having been to the finals and played the whole distance, we would have people on the team that know what it takes to make it.

Bringing in a guy who has a ring will be huge for us! (think sam cassell)

^^^ I think we would have to add a sweetener to pick up Iggy in that kind of a deal. Speights would be a huge pickup though, good offensive player and can play C or PF.

just put ej at 1, dre at the 2 and prince at the three, ej and andre are undersized for the 2/3 respectively anyways Wink

IF we get Iggy from the sixers would we still have the cap space to sign prince? if we did we would have

Mo/EB/EJ

EJ/Foye/Iggy

Iggy/Prince/AFA

Blake/Prince/Rhino or Ike

DJ/Rhino or Ike/Blake

we'd have a young athletic starting five, well minus mo, and then we could have Tay come in as a 6 man to play D and lead the second unit. It seemed to work pretty well with battie on the Grizz. then we'd still get his experience and leadership even though he'd be coming off the bench. sounds pretty deadly to me Very Happy

What the hell would the point of getting Prince and Igoudala bring us? Sure Iggy can play the 2, but he'll be our stating SF. Tayshaun can and will play close or more than 30 minutes a game the next few years for any team in the league. IF we got both, Gomes and Aminu would like never play at all. I know a lot of people here, and even myself a proclaimed doubter of Aminu would like to see Aminu get some decent minutes so we can see where he's at and how he's coming along. Tayshaun and Iggy BOTH come here, it ruins it and he's just going to be known as another lottery bust unless we somehow trade him to somewhere for something.

It is funny everyone is discussing Prince even Igoudala...ignoring the fact that what exactly are these two going to do if they were to be wide open? Since neither can shoot, they would probably drive get cut off and reset the offense....then what? Shot clock violations? haha

Shooter, Shooter, Shooter...Danny Granger would be so perfect...he is a SHOOTER, 3 pt shooter even better

Tayshaun Prince can't shoot? He's got a career 46.5 FG%, 37% 3pt %. And when would Iggy or Tayshaun be taking the majority of the shots? They would be the 3rd option behind Griffin and Gordon, playing comfortably on the wing. Iggy is a 46 or 47% FG shooter career as well, and a 33% 3pt shooter, both %'s I would expect to rise if he came here due to better shot selection from open / good looks he'd get from the pressure put forth on Gordon and Griffin.

I guess real numbers aren't factual to anyone. So for those of you that think Tayshaun Prince can't shoot and want some video evidence, here's a video of Tayshaun in college

Haahaaa!! College defenders are so worthless!!

I'd like to see Prince with the team next season. He'd be a good addition, and speaking of stat sheets.........Tayshaun's best attributes won't necessarily be found there.
