They can facilitate a Sign & Trade with J. Rich. I think they might actually entertain an offer like the one posted above, definitely a lot of value going to them. Dwight and Blake would be an insane combo! I do think the Magic might be more interested in Deandre instead of Kaman.

It would be insane if we could facilitate a deal like that and then trade Kaman for Iggy. I know, I know I am nuts, and its ridiculous, but seriously that would be amazing.

I'd suspect if we attempted to trade Kaman for Dwight Howard, it'd be easier to incude DeAndre in that package as well, he plays a lot like Gortat whom the Magic really liked. + if we can get a guy like Keith Benson in the 2nd round this year, we'd be able to have him study under Howard which would be nice. And it may cost us a bit less if we tossed DeAndre AND Kaman at them in return. They'd shed cap with kaman's contract coming off the books and would be able to get some assets in return. All speculation but I fully suspect Orlando to pull out anything they have to surround Howard with talent. I'd hate to see him leave Orlando, even for our team. It'd be Lebron 2.0 all over again. Theres 2 guys I don't wanna see leave teams, CP3 and D12. CP3 is EVERYTHING to New Orleans outside of the Saints.

Lakers trading Kobe and their entire team to do so? Cuz it won't fly otherwise. Bynum, Odom, Gasol, Artest would easily all be gone along with many draft picks, Shannon Brown etc.

I don't know why, but the Lakers have a way of pulling off ridiculous trades that has everybody but the team that the Lakers are trading with shaking their heads. As unrealistic as it SHOULD BE, the Lakers are the only team I could see getting away with landing both CP3 and D-12.......and I literally can't envision how they'd do it........but something in my brain won't let me say that it's not possible for them.

ummm what trades have they made? only the pau gasol trade was the one that makes all the laker fans think they can get everyone. and the trade actually worked out for memphis since gasol was gonna leave their asses anyway. the odom trade? they had to give up shaq which helped miami to their first championship. and the lakers actually went from championship contenders to mediocre with that trade. and why do they think everyone wants to be a laker? who have they signed to warrant such confidence? wow ron artest and steve blake. what a signing!!! i'd say they got those players for what they're worth maybe cheaper. their success is basically all Kobe dragging the team to success. if you ask me the team that always makes good trades are the Mavs they make me so jealous with such an active owner Mad

I suggest you look at their history on major trades...it's more then just the Gasol trade

I think their renown history as one of the most storied franchises in the NBA ( and all professional sports) attracts a lot of players.

The Lakers got the draft pick used to obtain the rights to James Worthy for Chad Kinch and Don Ford. They got Magic Johnson in a trade for with New Orleans when they let a fading Gail Goodrich go for draft picks... They got Kareem for a group of solid, but unspectacular NBA players. Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac.

The Lakers have outwitted a number of teams, as did the Celtics in the days of Red Auerbach.

They've blown a few too... Caron Bulter for Kwame Brown to name one.

Teams that have the highest payrolls usually win. Not always but usually they do. Lakers,Mavs,Yankees etc.

Lakers got Kobe for Vlade and Eddie Jones, both players were All-Stars, and the Hornets were in their what like 7th year as a team and wanted to maintain a winning team. Remember the glory years in Charlotte when they had Mugsey, LJ, Gill and Alonzo Mourning?

Kobe could have gone in any direction, HS players at that time were as risky as they would be drafted today. Lakers gave up a LOT risking everything on Kobe.

NVM they didn't get Eddie Jones in that trade I was thinking of something else. Regardless, trading an All-Star C and easily the best passing big man to ever play the game for a HS rookie was a big gamble for the Lakers.

Looking back on that draft, how many of you can clearly remember that draft? And thinking Steve Nash, whose that? Took him years to find his place in the NBA. That 1996 draft that Kobe came out of is labelled as perhaps the best NBA Draft ever. Lakers would have looked good trading for just about anyone in the 1st round of that draft.

as much as i hate the lakers they have made too many right moves to call them coincidences or luck. You always have to take a gamble, no risk no reward right?

No, the Lakers got Kobe buy trading the Vladic Divac for the 13th pick in the draft.

Eddie Jones and Elden Campell were traded to charlotte for Glen Rice.

Kevin McHale and Robert Parrish traded to Boston for the rights to Joe Barely Cares (aka, Joe Barry Carroll)... That might be the biggest steal in NBA history... Two top 50 all-time players for a dog.

Go read more on JBC and you will see he put up pretty good numbers and a lot of why he is considered a bust is the fact that Parrish and McHale were part of that trade to acquire the #1 pick so the Warriors could take Joe Barry Carroll. McHale hadn't done anything at the time as he wasn't even drafted, thus a risk, and Parrish was a fine player, but the Warriors prob figured Carroll could give them more than The Chief would have.

We could easily see Kyrie Irving turn into the greatest PG of all friggin time, smash records, win MVPs and championships and the trade we made could be called the dumbest trade ever.

Fact is, Boston and the Lakers have had some good trades go their way throughout the years, just like the Yankees and other big clubs in other major sports. Its a bit of luck but it's also because they have a few things most franchises don't have, whether its a combination of a good front office, trainers, talent scouts, the lure of the franchise, the history of the franchise etc there are other reasons why the trades they make work out so well.

Kobe may not have been the same player he was if he stayed with the Hornets or was drafted somewhere else. Who knows what if we didn't draft Olowokandi who was projected #1 by just about everyone and we picked someone else instead, and he ended up getting double doubles and being a beast.

Things play out and happen for a reason. Blake Griffin could easily not have had quite as big of an impact as he did had he been on a different team. Maybe he wouldnt even avg a double double you just dont know.

You never truly know, yet what we do know is that the teams that spend the most money usually win.

JBC was a B- center at his best (IMO 82-83)...Parrish was the better C when the trade was made and even better after that. JBC wasn't much after he left the GSW. McHale was Bostons choice from the pick they got from GSW....yep, one big deal for Boston.
