New free agent, clips have $$ to spend.

He can shoot a bit and could get Blake some scoring help.

This is assuming he is healthy.

maybe even dump Kaman for a draft pick

BLAKE

DAVID WEST

DEANDRE

GORDON

PG

He can score and move away from the basket. He's not going to make 3's but he would add some needed scoring, toughness and experience.

i would take him in the mix over the other options on the roster.

He's an allstar dont forget

no not at all. That would be an awful move. He is a jump shooter. we would be getting another big that likes to shoot jump shots (Kaman). No thank you

No unless he wants to be a 6th man, and I don't think he wants that. I think he wants to go to a team where he can be the starter

I think you've succeeded in mentioning the WORST possible fit for the clippers, of any player in this free agent class. oh me oh my....

No...!

All I know is if David West leaves CP3 will be looking for a way out of New Orleans too

How is iguodola, everyone's favorite rumor, a better fit?

he cant shoot, he is worse than even the current clips at the 3 ball.

West has a nice mid range game, he's tough and is an all around player.

I'm shocked clip fans wouldn't love david west in a clippers uniform.

Why be hung up on the pf or sf label?

Blake flashed some range last year, deandre has zero range and west has a mid range game.

2 allstar forwards on the clips, now thats something to see.

i rather spend 5 to 7 mil on:

-humphries or Big baby davis (championship experience)

then trade kaman for a sf

I was coming over just to see the "Chris Paul trade immanent. Will Olshey hit the home run?"

Instead we have "Let's spend 12mil per year on Blake's jock holder and have Ryan Gomes as the SF for another year."

Marco Jaric is also a good fit mid-range game ;')

If we didn't have Blake i would say maybe...

He wouldn't fit on this team, unless he plans to take brian cook type money, which he isn't than no we don't need him

He wouldn't fit with the Clips. When I look at Blake Griffin, I don't think on how another player will fit at his position unless it is a cheap back up. When I look at Gomes and Aminu, I try to plan on how we can solidify that position. This free agent class is going to be similar to the 2009 class where everyone is going to get over paid. A team like the Nets, who seem more worried about the Knicks do vs the rest of the NBA, will throw a lot of money at him (overpay him). He will command a 10+ mil a season for at least 5 years. Let's preserve the cap for opportunities that make the team better (SF, PG, Chris Paul and Dwight Howard, etc). As much as I like the idea of putting Blake at SF, that's not his natural position.

Can we please get David West?!! Let's do it, and be just as worthless as the Timberwolves!!

Oh, speaking of Minnesota.......he'll probably end up there. They're stocking up on PF's for the winter. If David West ever took a small contract, then I'd take him.........and move him somewhere that's willing to give us another 2012 draft pick in return.

The more 2012 draft picks you can stock up, the more good players you can give NO in a CP3 trade without selling the farm.

Why not, money/contract wise? Don't think its that bad of a trade for NO, they have to get something out of cp3 before he leaves via free agency. They would be losing an A pg and a C center and gain a B/B- pg and a A-/B+ center imo.

Trade doesn't work I believe because New Orleans doesn't have the cap room I believe. Secondly, Mo, Kaman ( a 1 year rental ) isn't going to get CP3 and Aaron Gray. Also Gray had a bad injury that took him out of the playoffs. Secondly, the Minny pick wasn't included.

Kaman to me isn't an A- Center, at best he's a Solid B or B+ but that's when he's healthy, motivated and in a good mood. Which is rare, making him a consistency issue. Going after CP3 and say Emeka's crap contract by trading Minny pick, Mo, Bledsoe, Kaman and perhaps Gomes or Aminu makes more sense since they are giving up easily a top 5 player in the league, Kaman could be gone after a year there, Mo is out of their future plans when his contract is up, so they'd be basically getting Aminu whose got a lot of work to do, Bledsoe who SHOULD be a starter some day and that Minnesota pick which is probably going to be top 10, where they have no clue.

And Paul is an A+ PG, easily the best in the league. Sad that New Orleans hasn't made more moves to surround him with better talent. I think they could have gotten a lot more for Darren Collison when they traded him. I think he's got more potential than Bledsoe and is better. We shoulda offered up a 1st rounder for him.

Mo + Kaman wouldn't even net us Iggy let alone CP3...don't think the NO GM couldn't hang up fast enough...or stop laughing.

Mo is basically trade bait for a PG because he's a good PG, not great but not bad. He can get you 14-18 a game, grab 4 boards and hand out 5-8 assists a game and shoot the ball fairly well. Prob is, he's like 28 or 29, and has 8-9 mill a year for the next 2 years on his contract.

But, a mid season trade next year makes Mo a decent trade asset simply because he'd only be owed his last year's salary, and the remainder of next seasons salary which would prob be half. That and he could take a potential buyout from the team he's traded to.

Kaman is a good C overall, and his big fat expiring contract is mouth watering to teams in the NBA. And if he's healthy and re-signs with the team he gets traded to and remains healthy, he'd be a great piece to be had.

But Philly or any other team taking on 2 guys that may just be rentals at a whopping 21+ million dollars next year is a lot of salary eating.

yeah, that's why i think kaman has huge value bc of his expiring contract. Not only will that give teams huge cap room, but players usually play their asses off in those scenarios.

I also think an A-/B+ rating for Kaman is 100% legit(yes when he's healthy like you would rate anyone else). He honestly may very well be the closest thing to Dirk when it comes to shooting for a big man (minus the 3pt), and his post moves are very underrated. He probably even plays better D than Dirk to.

How come everytime any player becomes available someone here wants him? You say why get hung up on labels? because those labels are positions where the players play! If you were playing chess you cant just move a pawn the way the queen moves and be like "who cares, its just a title. A pawn could learn the moves of a queen!" Its an amateur idea, something that Kahn would think was a great idea.

i would rather see an undamaged trey[rookie], go to this spot, and if we're going to spend money, i'd rather spend it on t. prince, thank you
