Hey all,

The Clippers need a small forward but more importantly they need a closer. Can Eric Gordon master that role? Can LAC land a superstar point guard?

Have a great weekend!

Geez, I have been saying this for years now. We haven't had that closer that brings the win home in the last quarter, the last 2 minutes, or the last 10 seconds. I think EJ has the potential to be that guy. Obviously if we could bring in a small forward who was also a closer, then that would be great.

thx Jamfan - the assignment was to do a "solving problem" series with Lakers and Clippers - I did LAL (pg) and then when it was time to do LAC - I had just written an article on getting the small forward so I looked a lil deeper.

Gordon needs to really grow in that area - it's really the key - unless they can add in someone else in that role - it's why someone like Manu might make sense - short-term

Gordon is already our go-to guy in the clutch, and he's only 22. Just look at the Utah game, he took over down the stretch. We also have Mo Williams who's made big shots in his career.

gordon has said he wants to be the closer, but it remains to be seen if he can take the pressure up a notch. i only remember the flubs he did at the end of games, like losing the handle on the ball or bouncing it off his foot, and ultimately, we lost the game because of his play. again, at 22, maybe this "goat" syndrome will go away with more experience and aging. but if gordon's game doesn't improve SIGNIFIGANTLY this year, then it's time to tap onto another player.

Significantly? He's already one of the top 2 guards in the league. If he improves significantly he will be the best 2 guard in the league.

Top 4 IMO. Maybe this year he moves up.
