The Clippers will face a tough Bobcats team tonight at the Staples Center. Despite their 17 and 27 record, Charlotte is a pretty dangerous team. The Clippers will have to play great to win. Hopefully Chris Kaman will be able to go tonight, or else the Clippers may be overwhelmed by Okafor and gang inside. Go Clips!

Corey Maggette may not give it a go tonight. Both Maggette and Kaman have the flu. Kaman has a shin injury on top of the infirmity.

    Get well soon! (Before 7:30!)
If they are not able to play, Thornton is going to get some serious minutes!

59-49 at the half- it could've been worse- the guys were down as much as 16. Right now the defense is really suffering. The Bobcats are penetrating into the lane at will and hitting a lot of outside shots.

The guys had a nice comeback after going down by 18 with like 6 minutes to go, but it was too little too late. A terrific game by Tim Thomas with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sammy and Cat chipped in with 29 combined, but Thornton had only 8 before fouling out. Q Ross did step up with 14 & Josh Powell had 12, but there simply wasn't enough firepower. The Clippers really missed Maggette's ability to go to the free throw line as they only shot 15 total. And they definitely missed Kaman's interior defense for sure. Here's the box score:

wow.... Powell's follow up dunk was atrocious, almost as atrocious as Dunleavy's rotation. I thought he was bad when Wilcox was here...

Good things, Powell ain't half bad. Pretty athletic. Q finally got some points. Maybe they'll have to guard him

I feel sorry for the fans with handicap placards who can't find a blue spot to park 'cause they're all taken by Clipper players!

Did you see the bench? Only 4 players on the bench ! They were all spread out like they were in 1st class!

What a nightmare that was. So can yanything else bad possibly happen to this team?

I agree clipperfan714! There were more guys behind the bench in suits(Brand, Livi, and Davis) than on it! Really sad.

But it shows the team has tremendous moxie to play as well as they did. Think about the following:

    1) 4 of the projected starters out!
    2) Bench guys are playing 30 minutes (there's no one behind them).
    3) Continues the trend of healthy when playing top tier teams, not healthy when playing beatable opponents.

I didn't catch the game last night but looked at the box score and saw that Thornton only had 19 minutes of play. Was the because he kept getting called for fouls?

Yep, you gotta love that the young guys are getting some time and stepping up and that we're not giving up at all. This team has a bright future ahead if they make the right decisions come offseason.
