With the trading deadline looming, everytime players suddenly disappear for a couple of days with mysterious injuries or the "flu," there is always the speculation that they are not on the floor so they do not get hurt right before being traded. Corey Maggette has often been on the trade rumor watch due to the fact that he could leave the Clippers empty handed this summer . Chris Kaman could be trade bait mostly because the season he is having makes his value now very high and it takes that kind of player to bring a top player in return. Are these boys really sick? Or are one or both of them about to get moved right before the 2/21 trade deadline? And if they are gone, for who?

Yea, Dunleavy said he isn't taking a chance on taking both on a airplane (confined area space) and risk getting the others sick. He also said they would probably join them sometime during the road trip. I wouldn't worry too much about this.

Ever here of flu shots and vaccines. Why wouldn't the clippers have flu shots considering when they miss a game that cost the team like 300,000. There mights be a trade in the works.

I just say that if we trade Kaman there are only few names I could accept in return...And of course, they are all AllStars. No way Jason Kidd!!!!

Trade Kaman? After just recently signing him to a huge contract which he maybe didn't really earn last year but that he's been worth every penny of this? I don't think so. In fact I would be shocked if CK isn't the center of the Clippers present and future for some time. All-Star caliber middle men don't just fall into your laps every year. Unless there's some specific problem (read: personalities) I don't see LA giving up Chris anytime in the forseeable future. Why would you? If you don't have a good center, you're looking for one. We now have one. Pair him with a healthy EB and add Corey and/or Al and you've got one of the most dynamic frontlines in the league. I should repeat that for the benefit of those shell-shocked by the way things have gone this year. With CK, EB and Al or Corey the Clippers will have one of the BEST frontlines in the whole league! Bar none! 'Course nothing is ever perfect and the backcourt still needs shoring up. Much depends on how healthy Shaun is coming back. If (BIG if) he's ready then we can concentrate on the 2, maybe picking up one of the hot youngsters via the draft, Gordon and Batum spring to mind, or if not, then there are the raft of good points available with Rose being the... er, rose of the group. Or if trading Corey is the way it has to go then obviously he would bring a strong player or extremely enhanced draft position in return. That player in either case being a 1 or 2 depending on which need seemed most crucial to fill. Either way it seems like keeping CK and EB is hugely important to the team's future, and coupled with Thornton, who looks like he may be the real deal, would form a strong core to build around.

You are all right in that they wouldn't trade Kaman unless getting a very special player in return. And usually that move would be made when you have a up and comer to fill his shoes, which we do not. Having said that, I am also amazed that so many NBA players are coming down with the flu right in the middle of the season and making their fellow players sick as well. I started taking flu shots 10 years ago and haven't had the flu since. I think they can afford it since it only cost ab $25. I wonder how much it costs to have your key players out for 3 games. Hek, I will even pay the 25 to have Corey and Chris healthy.

there is NO WAY Kaman is going to get traded...he is untouchable!
And these players don't sit out unless they can't play...I don't question Maggette's work ethic as well as Kaman's..... |

Guys there is a nasty strain of flu going around that's resistant to the flu shot (and chicken soup). I was literally flat on my back for four days. After a week I'm still not 100%. If this is what they've got understand I why they're out
