No, the point is we get to KEEP a lottery pick over RENTING an all-star guard... maybe we should offer them the pick for Fisher now, huh?

And that is why this organization will always be the second banana at best in this town. Had a chance to step up, risk a little for maybe a big payoff, but no. They stepped up because the FO wants win championships. We on the other, are happy to play .500 ball or maybe make the playoffs at best.

If the Lakers get Howard too (and it's probably a 60-70% they do.) the divide between us and them will just get that much wider.

Oh yeah, we took a risk...and got the oft injured Butler today..sigh

We could have traded the entire team but the guy didn't want to be with the Clippers. It's not the FO's fault.

Its just funny how everyone is saying the lakers got the bad side of the deal for trading Pau Gasol and Odom... Its CHRIS PAUL! lol the Guy DTS was trying to recruit 3 years ago on the sidelines... the clippers simply tried to LowBall the Hornets by offering basically nothing.. not even a draft pick lol... Oshley did a Horrible job of negotiating ... DTS is probably Furious haha

Yeah, if we traded Gordon and the Minny pick for Paul without an extension and he bolted at the end of the season, it would be a major step back. To me, that's not worth the risk.

And, IMO, this the Paul trade is only good for the Lakers if Howard follows. And I am, again, a huge CP3 fan.

i say we match.. we have to.. he is ower center of the future.. u gotta give up a bit.. we all have a little donald sterling in us... all these other teams are offering players good money while we only pay what there worth.. in this game u gotta give what there worth and a little extra... thats the diffrence between good teams and great teams..

But most seem to be happy Because we get to watch young talent turn into Superstars because thats what us clipper fan do Very Happy and oh yeah, we also get to sit and watch the 2012 NBA Draft and project who we will be getting like every year... Whos throwing the Draft PARTY this year!!! Very Happy (sarcasm intended)

It's possible CP3 made a secret comittment to the Lakers for a maybe. We still shouldn't over pay for Dj. He may have maxed out. This is such a f**king crap shoot with loaded dice.

Have you seen a Chinese finger trap? We've got our wee-wee stuck in one. We've got one but can't use it.

Every single motherf**ker on this forum said us trading for CP3 was contingent on him signing an extension. Now, because he's going to the purple and piss, some people are wringing their hands and acting like chicken little.

There's a reason they play games on hardwood and not paper. There is a way to negate any offensive threat... it just has to be found. Even if they get DH, they will have zero depth... throw scrubs at him and get him in foul trouble. Gordon always pretty much negates Kobe, and EJ is getting better whereas Kobe is getting worse. CP3 is a great talent, but tell Bledsoe to run him into the ground. That kid is one of the fastest there is and your offense will suffer if you try to stay in front of him.

My favorite matchup of all is VDN versus Mike Brown. Admittedly, Brown has the edge when it comes to acting. He's managed to Bullsh!t the world that he can actually coach.

My point is we spanked Miami last year with no SF because our TEAM got behind each other and refused to lose. We have a team that already has chemistry and that we've added a significant piece to where we sorely needed one.

The Lakers?

We'll sh!t 'em.

I can't even imagine the backlash of trading Gordon, the Minny pick, etc for a one-year project on CP3...having a few injuries, finishing 12th place and watching CP bolt away in the blink of an eye. People would be clamoring for Olshey's head for making the deal.

I hope that the deal does not go through. Not only would it be dissappointing to see Paul in a Lakers uniform - the fact that the NBA owns NOH and may potentially trade Paul in a lopsided deal (argueably) would make numerous of teams and fans feel like they are getting screwed over. If it does not go through, I hope it will bring some disarray within our rival teams wink
