Looks like the Nets are out of the running for Dwight Howard if Lopez was the centerpiece of their trade offer. They are saying that Brook Lopez may not play again? Wow, that's a tough blow.

Andrew Bynum is looking better and better for the Orlando Magic.

Ouch- that is tough for them. But I'm sure he'll be back, probably late in the season.

Yep, it could take longer to heal, but I think he'll be back late in the season.

Good "break" for the Lakers???

not really. i still think the nets acquire howard. look at it from this standpoint. if brook lopez is gone the nets will end up in the lottery. that means their first rd picks become more enticing. brook lopez and two high first rd picks in a deep draft is a better deal than bynum and gasol for howard.

Seems like he'll be back sometime in Feb. Plenty of time to get back into game shape before the deadline.

I don't understand your rationale.. If Brook Lopez is gone, that means that the Nets would have acquired Dwight Howard in the context of this conversation. Thus, that pick would not be a high first round pick, presumably.

I heard on 710espn that the nets signed okur from the jazz now since lopez is injured.

i was talking about the high likelihood of the nets struggling without brook lopez due to his injury, which would make their own pick a potential top 5 pick. cuz even if lopez comes back in mid to late february im sure the nets will be out of playoff contention. by the time lopez gets into shape again he will be able to be put into a package of lopez and the 2 first rd picks, their own pick and the nuggets pick in order to get howard. i was not talking about struggling if they had howard.

I'm not sure Dwight Howard OK's a deal to the Nets if they are out of the playoffs by the trading deadline. In addition, Deron Williams will likely be gone at years end as well. Draft picks in return for Howard are not as valuable because Orlando knows that Howard will make whatever team he goes to a whole lot better. This all works in the Lakers favor IMO as far as making the Bynum for Howard deal. Maybe the Orlando Magic want to make the trade after Bynum serves his suspension or something.

If this deal can get done, then we will have Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Kobe Bryant, and Dwight Howard all in LA.

but the laker deal for howard would also have to involve gasol. it wont be bynum for howard straight up. it would be too little to give for howard. unless they are gift wrapped howard like the paul gasol deal they pulled off with the grizzlies.

Either Dwight gets traded to the Nets at the deadline or they both stay put until they become Mavs next season.

its funny how everyone assumes that the flakers are front runners for howard. in the end, money talks and howard will probably end up on the nets or with the mavs.
