I probably would keep Maggette over Mobley, but it would be hard to let Cat go. He's a good shooter and poses an outside threat. The problem is that the teams has to be fiscally sound, and keeping both players does not make sense. I smell a trade before the deadline, possibly a three way deal where we get an expiring contract and a pick late in the first round.
I know Boston would love to have him and Cassel. Maybe even the Denver Nuggets who might want him too to add a shooter. I wouldn't want to give him away, but the fact is that we have too many players in the backcourt and front court (small forward). If we play Quiton Ross, the defensive stopper in the backcourt, when the hell is there going to be any playing time for Mobley or Maggette. Maybe we could trade Ross.
I wouldn't mind keeping him either. He is one of my favorites, but I don't see him touching the ball much. It's either Maggette or him. Mobley can hit three's. Maggette can too. But keep in mind, Maggette will want a big extension. Despite his contract, Mobley is still an asset. |

I believe we need to keep him unless it's worth our while. He is a great role player and does have a great outside shot. To me I have always seen him as a Michael Finley type player. He is a veteran, hits open shots, could go off, not really consistant (although playing pretty good this year). He is a great back up sg probably best in league but not the best starter or top ten in league. We need a top five sg if we want to make and win a play off series. Miller, Kmart....just hoping.....

I hope he's not going to be traded, unless it's for a better player! Cat is a dependable shooter and defender. I can see him doing some major damage next season coming off the bench like what he has done much of this season.

I can't see Cat moving this year. I think his new role is better than it was last yr, so if he improves, he'll be a pretty solid player

Nobody wants to give up players to get Cat. We got him probably until he retires. Let's hope he can still be a role player like he is this year.
