Hopefully Keith Bogans is there. Smart veteran, great defense, can hit three's: exactly what we need from the starting 2-position

We can win with our guards. We need a backup big. When Cook is in there no one is afraid of him and drives to the basket that usually ends up in an and 1.

We need both a backup center and a backup defensive wing.

Bogans makes sense because Gomes is a disaster and VDN doesn't seem to trust Leslie just yet.

I'm not surprised. CP3 has been missing free throws.

Twitter according to:

BA_Turner Brad Turner

Clippers had in 7-0 D.J Mbenga, 6-11 Hilton Armstrong, 6-10 Solomon Jones and 6-11 Dan Gadzuric. They are in need of another big man.

Well, I thought we were going to have 6 or 7 players. With Evans who is 6'9" already here and capable of back up PF, I think we need another guy with length. So I hope we find a 7' guy. Gadzuric or Mbenga would be my choices from the group. But none of these guys are going to make a big impact on our roster. But as backup centers, they would work for cheap.

I could see Mbenga fitting in well, think he's improved since being w/ the Lakers, and would like to see what Armstrong has. I wonder if CP3 is lobbying for any of his old teammates?

Armstrong or Mbenga. I could careless about those other stiffs.

gadzuric would be a solid backup. hes always been gritty and hustles everytime he is in the game. mbenga could fit in as well.

but so is someone like przybilla who people wanted to get as a backup center. gadzuric is far from soft. but whoever we get is better than having brian cook as the backup center.

I think that reggie evans is better than all those players the clippers are trying out but if i had to choose one I'd go with Mbenga because of his energy and hes a former teammate of chris paul.

IMO, the best of the bunch is Gadzuric or Armstrong.

armstrong is young, athletic but a lil bit lanky for a center in the western conference. gadzuric is a tough vet who can be a solid backup center. especially on our team.

clippers signed Solomon Jones! most upside and has the body we need. His defense is supposedly on par with that of armstrong's. Great pick up for a back up by the clips

I know anybody can be made to look good in a highlight video/mix video, but he seems solid. I remember watching him play for the hawks.

he's 6'10, but just like evans, he's a pretty big body.

now watch as people start complaining that he's not a 7 footer so we shouldn't have signed him lmao

Don't know about his strength though.

Hilarious! I guess none of us know much about him.

Looking at his career stats, he looks like a solid rebounder, shoots a decent %, but doesn't take many shots, 0.6 blocks pg in only 10 minutes.

He doesn't look like he's had much of a shot so far and it's 6 more fouls and another big body up front, so I'm all for it.

I bet the kid's thrilled to be on the most talked about team in the NBA. Maybe that will motivate him to work his nuts off!

i'm sure in around 15-20 minutes a game, he can get us like 2 points, 4-5 rebounds, and a blocked shot. that's all we need from him

I'm pretty sure he won't see more than 10 minutes...

But I'd say 3 or 4 points, 3 or 4 rebs and 0.5 blks pg. He's also 71% career from the line, which can help us if anyone employs the hack-a-DJ.

^well, right now DJ and BG play too many minutes, imo. they get gassed out in the 4th (kinda), so I can see evans and jones playing around 15-20 minutes a game so DJ and BG won't be playing as much.

Yeah, but they're young enough to handle it. Just like everyone, their conditioning will improve in a few weeks. Plus we have to develop Trey... by all accounts he was a 2nd round steal like DJ.

If DJ gets in foul trouble (which he's been great at avoiding so far... his biggest growth), then Solomon will see more minutes. If he's got good hands, he's gonna love playing with our guard lineup!

there's no doubt they can handle it, BUT wouldn't you rather have them completely fresh at the ends of games?

Not sure we'll have that luxury, but let's call it 12-14 minutes pg and just be happy we have a little more depth up front. Very Happy

Ok, on the downside his EFF is only 4.8 and he didn't even play in half of the games last season by Coaches Decision. But I guess we only need a backup center for a few minutes per game. Can he hit free throws?

^ Yeah, but he was playing behind Hibbert and Foster in garbage time. Efficiency stats are worthless in blowouts.

FT's 71% career. Pretty good for a center.

Give the kid a chance, Jamfan Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_02

Nobody has yet.

He is a Clipper now, so we love him. I kinda like the tryout thing they did. Bring in some guys and let them compete mano a mano. After the battle, our guys chose Salomon. I kind of feel sorry for Trey Thompkins though, he is getting buried.

If anyone is getting buried, it should be Cook. Trey is consistently showing flashes of developing into a nice stretch 4, and has game both beyond and within the arc.

Our big men rotations depending on need:

Griffin/Evans or Trey/Cook

DJ/Jones or Evans/Cook

We are so deep w/ scorers at the guard position that it shouldn't be hard to get quality shots.

Agreed. I can't stand watching Cook. Even the way he runs, just looks too damn goofy out there. Rather watch Thompkins play ahead of Cook to get time in to learn the game.

Yeah, but check out the last sentence...

DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul had a spirited free-throw shooting contest at the end of practice with one caveat: Paul was shooting left-handed. Jordan said that he won.

Still.. keep practicing, DJ.
