Call me crazy, but I think we should bring him back. He was an excellent defender. I don't think he's on any team right now.

Yeah I was wondering about Q Ross too- he would be great as a defensive substitution here and there. Same thing with Shaun, though Shaun obviously has better skills. I still remember the great D those two played vs Phoenix in the 2006 playoffs.

that was 6 years ago.......is there seriously a quinton ross thread?

his skills (limited) are gone..........just like 59.2% of all the players involved in the finals that year.

Players in the 2006 Finals (Mavs vs Heat)

(16 out of 27 total player) ARE NO LONGER IN THE NBA!!

Darrell Armstrong

Adrian Griffin

Jerry Stackhouse

Keith Van Horn

DJ MBenga

Derek Anderson

Shandon Anderson

Michael Doleac

Earl Barron

Alonzo Mourning

Shaq O'Neal

Gary Payton

James Posey

Wayne Simien

Jason Williams

Antoine Walker

Aint trying to diss but this is exactly why our team gets clowned on every year. Fans need to move forward and keep the winning momentum going. Looking back at all these guys who had losing seasons with us but yet good hearted people aint gonna help our team now. It's just going to make us look like the same old Clippers. Sorry but I get a laugh when u guys want players like Q.Ross, Shaun Livingston and this is the one that gets me everytime....SOFO! Seriously? Get over him he was never or will ever be a good NBA player. Let the past be the past...

Its Q Ross who cares. At least livingston had some talent and still does. Q ross was a marginal NBA player at best. This thread should be taken away what a joke. Whats next james singleton he would be fantastic I heard he can jump and thats it

Posey is with the Pacers and Stackhouse is a member of the Hawk. Barron, Mbenga teams are still looking at them.

Anyways, there's nothing wrong with a Q Ross thread since he's was playing B-ball until this year, but I do agree with you that it was 6 years ago and his skill are limited and he's not the same player.

We don't have a single player on this team that can guard a SG without leaving a gap at SF. We are getting lit up by every decent SG in this league (Manu, Hamilton, Crawford...). We need a defensive presence at the 2 to use when necessary.

Desiring Q.Ross has little to do with nostalgia. It has to do with having no options in the FA pool besides Bogans to sign at that position and for that purpose. If the dude is still NBA ready and can play D like he used to (He's only 29), why not have him around?

Haha. Remember the announcer: "Jumping James Singleton". I think he even said once that he hated the nickname...

Seriously. Let's bring Bobby Simmons back while we're at it.

He could definitely help us when we face the high scoring wings like Kobe and Wade. Q is horrible on offense but he can guard anybody in the league. Sign him to a non-guaranteed contract like Jones and put a suit on him until the time comes. We get injuries in the frontcourt or we move Mo, just waive him to make space.

livingston wouldnt be so bad. hes actually a role player who can defend. hes no longer the guy who was a marvelous passer and long, but couldnt shoot or defend. now he can still pass but he can actually defend and shoot mid range jumpers.

Here's an article by a Mavs fan site on wing players still available, and it mentions Q Ross:

I'm sure he'd sign for the vet minimum.
