Lakers fans are seriously making TV ratings an issue? Can it get anymore petty?

Wow. I guess they are feeling a little threatened if they have to dig deep down there lint invested pocket to try and find an edge. lol

"ha! so much for star power. Lakers will always be Lakers. Name brand...it matters."

"(bleep) CP3 and Blake G

I still want to watch Kobe/Gasol/Bynum"

"See? told you they're loserds."

"Hell ya...

the lakers are the most popular team in the western hemisphere... and top 5 in the world."

Of course everyone watches their games...

Who wouldn't want to witness the slow, painful extinction of a despised former titan?

The ratings are skewed cause the game was on KCAL. Next year when Laker tv deal kicks in, I'd like to see how many of these losers actually pay to watch their games.

Grasping at straws. Faker fans do not want to hear that there may be competition in LA and they are pretty nervous about it. So they look to prove they are superior by grasping any straw they can find. Meanwhile, we remain cool and watch or team rise.

Next up will be: "Hey man, there are purple seats in Staples. You don't see blue seats,,,we rule !"

yea they were talking about that on Mason/Mark Willard and Ireland the other day. They were debating who is more popular based off the jazz/lakers and Clipps/Heat game ratings. Lakers of course had better ratings, But lakers were on Kcal (Regular TV) and the Clipps game was separated into two games on espn and prime ticket (Cable). Duh. It's very Strange how insecure lakers fans and analyst are acting. Lakers have 16 Championships they need not worry.

That's just because there are millions of Lakers/Raiders fans that spend all their money on jerseys, silver chains, and lowered 80's Buick Regals and don't have enough left over to pay for Fox Sports on cable/dish. Take that away and it would be a much more interesting number.

I could care less if we have less than a million viewers, so long as our Clippers are winning. Only reason why people watch them is either they are Laker fans or people just hate them so they like to watch them lose.

Even better, just shows the Laker bandwagon still looks like this:

Btw, can't wait to see their TV ratings when it's the postseason and... oh wait, the Lakers aren't there, never mind.

I was gonna say the same thing...they have an added advantage in having an over-the-air station in KCAL televising their games (one of the few teams left in the NBA with a combination of local OTA/cable telecasts). That said, you would think that being owned by CBS, the production value on Lakers (and Dodgers) telecasts on KCAL would be a lot better than they are, but it's bargain-basement quality. I know they hired an outside production company to produce those telecasts...but why, when you have CBS Sports right in the same corporate family?

Anywho, who really cares about TV ratings? The ratings system is skewed to begin...it doesn't accurately take into account how many actual people watch a program, or ones watching somewhere else other than a household.

It was also a home game for us so 20k people were watching it live instead of at home.

But I agree with you. Ratings are overrated. Everyone at work knows me as the clipper guy and the next day at work, everyone was telling me great game and great win for MY CLIPPERS. These are people who are either Laker bandwagon fans or non basketball fans that watched the game.

"You KNOW those rating systems are flawed. They don't take into account households that have more than two television sets and other.... um.....other things of that nature."

Rep for anyone that can successfully name the source of that quote.

Repped High Quality Post

Anchorman, Vince Vaughn's character, forgot his name.

Easy for me since I memorized half the quotes in that movie, 60% of the time, every time.

Vaughn's character's name was Wes Mantooth...I was actually thinking that too when I wrote my initial post.

Stu Lantz says it how it is watch the full game and Mcdonald is a tool but he gets equally excited for the other team so it balances out...I would have either of them over Mike Smith lmao -_-
