It's looking like the Western Conference All-Star starters are going to be mostly Lakers and Clippers. Most of these guys have big leads in their respective positions so it's looking like the starters will be:

PG - CP3

SG - Kobe Bryant

SF - Kevin Durant

PF - Blake Griffin

C - Andrew Bynum

In addition, DeAndre may make it due to the lack of real centers and Pau Gasol is likely to make it. So that is about 1/2 the team that are playing in LA. Too bad Durant isn't demanding a trade to one of the LA teams too.

Wouldn't bet on Pau for the coaches vote, there are a lot of other more worthy West forward candidates that should get the coaches pick over Gasoft, namely LaMarcus and Love. DJ is a reasonable shot as the backup center, really depends if the coaches have been more impressed with his defense and athleticism over what Gasol and Nene contribute to their teams.

FYI, just because the Lakers and Clippers are in the same town and arena does NOT make us family.

Amen to all of that, ESPECIALLY the last part.

Sorry, but as much as I love DJ, there is no way he makes the All Star team, and in no way does he deserve it. His defense has been good(not great though), and while those 3+ blocks per game are great(and league leading) 8 points and 8 boards don't make you an All star. Gasol is definitely more deserving as the backup center, especially if you give LMA, Love and Dirk the forward spots. And if you want a "true" center on the team? I'd say that Marc Gasol (15 pts, 11 rebs, 2.5 blks) is more deserving for what he has done for Memphis, especially in Randolph's absence. You could also make a case for Al Jefferson(18 ppg, 9 rebs, 1.8 blks), Marcin Gortat (14 pgg, 9 rebs) or Nene(13.5 pgg, 9 rebs). I really love DJ, and I'm hoping he can get better, but it's a stretch to say he's All Star worthy.
