I think the Clips play a form of D that is just soft. They don't body up guys. They play off and play guys to drive. But they are slow on the perimeter and they still get beat even while playing off. Guys feel like they can get in a rhythm and on most nights appear to be very comfortable.

It all goes back to Vinny Del Negro. Look at Tom Thibodeau. It all goes back to the coach.

Beasley and Williams are not bums. They were both #2 picks.

TWolves exposed our weakness: perimeter defense.

Caron had an off night offensively and it seemed to affect his game defensively. He got torched. Kenyon got torched too.

We are in desperate need of stoppers. As much as I hate to say it, VDN should have tried Gomes on those guys last night.

Ah....had to bump this thread. JJ Hickson playing like Karl Malone against us today.

And dont defend him. He is a bum like another poster said. BUM. But he always seems to play like this against us it blows my mind.

Jumpers, highlight dunks, rebounds, I mean really.....

Ahhh......this thread makes its return so I can say "The Hornets went off against us" because they are all bums. No one can or should defend them or us for sucking. They had lost 7 in a row. 7!!!!!!! AND THEY PLAY LIKE THE 96 BULLS AGAINST US.

Vasquez made 5 3s. 5!!! HE will probably not do this again all season. He played like an All Star.

The BUm center Guy was making fadeaways in the paint, jumpers...

That generic guy from Orlando who shoots 3s was playing like if he was Larry Bird

Aminu scored double digits really? He only missed 5 shots?

Rivers even scored.

Roger Mason Jr even made a 3. Him? yeah? He is still in the league apparently.

Jason Smith the generic Center had 17 points. 17 !!!!!

TWo guy I have never even heard of contributed 13 Points.

The Hornets shot 50% and 60% from 3. (Seemed like in the 90%s to me)

I am mad. and the thing about it is that nooooooone of these guys are going to do this eeeeeever again. It is one thing for ONE bum to go off against us like that generic rookie from the Cavs who played like Jordan against us.

Against the Thunder Kevin Martin scored how many? Thabeet shot 100% and shot his career high I mean really?

The Hawks suck and we let all of their bums score double digits.

We let Brook Lopez play like Kareem against us. I mean dagger after dagger like he was some unstoppable force. We let Joe Johnson make clutch shots. We let their Bum bench contribute like what 20 points?

These last 4 losses have brought out the worst in the Clippers. The Clippers in these last 4 losses are the same ole Clippers everyone made fun of for 20 years.

Bums going off nightly against us, us missing wide open shots (Matt Barnes I am talking to you) and just overall pathetic efforts. Something happened. Something is up. I dont know if they went to the club and got alcohol poisoning, if they are beefing, if they are having baby mama problems...but something happened. It is one thing to be pathetic on the road but when you lose to one of the worst teams in the NBA who is in a 7 game losing streak I am sorry but something is wrong.

We are not the Clippers of old. It used to be bum players who went off against us... these days it's bum teams.

^^Yeah he's pretty good. He reminds me of Marco Jaric but with better shooting and handle. And he used the screener exceptionally well tonight.

Out strategized. Monty Williams is one hell of a coach, in fact perfect fit for the Clippers Smile

^ So his strategy was Vasquez dropping 30-footers with a hand in his face?

Genius.

Actually it was an ignorant post, I didn't see the game being on the east coast and thinking it would be an easy peezy victory so didn't bother staying up for it. Yeah I'll take the heat on making a bad comment. I couldn't see it any other way with the talent disparity. Once I checked the box scores and read some comments they had an efficient shooting night.

Add Evan Turner onto the list, dude has been underwhelming so far. They are not bums but most have expected more from all three.

He is. But he played like a Superstar. He is no superstar. He made 5 3s. 5. He was making contested shots. Contested 3s. Watch him any other game this season and he will not do what he did against us last night.

Williams... I tend to exaggerate the bum thing but I will stand by what I said. Last season Williams scored 27 against us and shot 90%. 90%. Only one other time all last season he scored 27 but that game he took 20 shots to do it. Against us he made 9 out of 10. He shot 90%. Not only that he made dagger after dagger after dagger.

Beasley only score more points than the 27 he did against us a game last year ONCE. He made 11 of 15 shots and again dagger after dagger after dagger. I mean he shot like 70% for petes sake.

You say people expect more from them cause they have all been pretty mediocre or sorry even. But watch Evan Turner come in here or we go on the road and play them and he score 30. Embarassed

He is average. We made him look like a superstar. Even Chris Paul said he is an all star but for some reason I hope he was being sarcastic.

I'm speechless on our performances the last 4 games... No comment, if I actually vented my thoughts and feelings I would probably get a lot hate mail and probably get banned from CTB... So I will restrain myself...YOU'RE WELCOME!

Not sure how the group feels about this but........just seems we have shown a consistent pattern this year of shutting down teams best players (most of the time), but we allow the scrubs/2nd/3rd unit players to have All-Star type performances. Recent ones that come to mind, like last night, Ajiinca---14pts 11 rbs, Miller 16pts???????????

Another game that sticks out is when we played the Spurs and Patty Mills went off and cost us the game. I could go back through the year and list many, many other similar instances but.......I'm fairly certain those of you that watch every game like I do know what I'm talking about.

I'm at a loss trying to determine why this is? Is it a lack of a scouting report? Is it us playing down to the competition? Do they feel its not necessary to actually focus and play hard against scrubs?

On a night where CP goes 0-12 & Grainger goes 0-4, it makes the above scrub stats sting even harder. I know I will catch heat for this ,but, I question their heart the last couple games. Detroit, Bucs & Pelicans. We had no business playing our starters for a single minute after the mid way mark of the 3rd quarter in any of those games. Perhaps that answers the question for me, its the 2nd unit. I don't think its that easy though, as both Ajiinca & Miller were scoring at will late against our starters. Doc has made it clear, when our shots are not falling we can still play great defense. We seem to be picking and choosing the times down the floor when we want to show our defensive teeth.

With expectations running so high in a conference that's as competitive as I can recall we can ill afford these type of mental lapses. I have to place some blame on Doc for the last three games as well. Maybe Grainger, Big Baby & CP took all the guys out for a raucous good time in the French Quarters on Tuesday night. Quite honestly, I wouldn't be so pissed about the loss if that were the case. At least it would explain why we never showed up last night.

All it would take is us to dump a few more games against, Houston, Mav's & Phx and voil, we find ourselves in the 4 seed or worse a 5 seed. Our window is now, to squander home court this late in the year would be a travesty.

We watch all or almost all Clipper games, but if we watched all games of some other team then we would also be more aware of the "scrubs" that are going off against them. Usually teams get these players that just seem to perform well against them, Ajinca seems to like playing the Clippers.

NBA is full of talent. Each team makes a plan before a game and part of that plan is to shut down the opposing stars. Therefore one of the non star talents have an opportunity to go off. Like Agent says it is probably not just us but a common phenomena across the association.

Bums are gonna go off and I'm not surprised at all. What surprises me is how little we've seen it from the bums at the end of our bench.

Barnes has his nights going off. Collison does it sometimes. Crawford does it all the time. These are all bench guys for us. The reason we notice it on other teams is bc its teams with out super stars that have these bums going off. we have our main guys that get theirs every night theres not a lot of room for the surprise star to jump out all the time. CP3 went 0-12.... that will never ever ever happen again! let it go clipper nation
