How old is Bobby now? What were his stats in the D-League?

I know when he won most improved with us he fell off big time after that season. Not sure he is the answer. But hey worth a shot i guess. March 1st is the key deadline for us.

Pass. We need someone young and athletic that can play D on guys like Ginobili tomorrow.

Bobby played great D on Griffin last season for the Spurs. In fact he gave Griffin a bad bloody lip. Super physical, strong defensive minded player. He can't hit open shots anymore it seems... but he will be a defensive force which is what we need most. If Gomes gets minutes that's when I'm unhappy.

Looks like he was shooting well in the D-league from the 3 point line:

I definitely remember his days as a Clipper- he had a great breakout season and then signed a huge contract with the Bucks. He played solid defense and could hit the midrange jumper and 3's. He could be an upgrade over Gomes.

The Knicks are going to release Balkman...he'd be a good pick for his energy and defense/rebounding @ a relatively low cost.

Funny thing is his game has always reminded me of a less offensive minded Caron Butler too. They are also both built similarly and they love the physical game.

32 isn't so bad. Especially for a bench guy. Bobby's last year as a Clip was my first as a fan. I guess it'd be nice to see him back if Vinny and Olshey think he can still bring something to the table.

I remember his last year with us, he was a real crowd favorite. If memory serves, he demanded a max contract which he got from the Bucs and he never returned to his full glory.

I havent heard his name is probably 3-4 years, if he could shoot threes again at 75% of what he did in his prime with us I'd say give him a shot at a ten day.

We need to get a little younger an explosive slasher off the bench would be a boost we have enough jump shooting

When he was with the clippers he was originally brought in as a defensive stopper and ended up getting a good shooter in the processes.....lets be honest Simmons would be an upgrade over gomes regardless lol

Nothing of significance is coming until 3/1....everything else is just patchwork stuff. Try Bobby, maybe his legs will hold up for 2 weeks...maybe. I'd take Balkman over him easily.

would be interesting. I was a big fan of his when he was on the team but he really struggled after he signed that big contract with the Bucks. If he still has more in the tank lets give him a shot

waive cook/gomes. take simmons & balkman. these are brief solutions for LAC. they won't be there after the deadline. i hope Olshey is doing his homework. he's done an excellent job so far. Smile

I'd rather give Gerald Green a chance.

Gerald Green Sucks! At least Simmons at one point made an nba team and did well enough to receive a max deal.....gerald green never made it past his rookie contract.......they straight cut him.

Gerald Green is a really great talent he's just really immature. He can score all day but isn't a team player at all.

We couldn't definitely use Simmons defense, lets just pray that the Clippers red white and blue are his lucky colors and he finds his jump shot again. Dude killed for us after Richardson Left.

Bobby Simmons, I love that guy when he play for us. The time of our big 3, Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, and Bobby Simmons. A great season that was.

Bobby played great when he was with us. But that was his only good year in the Nba. He got a huge contract. I thought he traded shortly from bucks to Toronto and was a huge disappointment after he left the Clippers. Seems to me he was only looking for a nice contract. Maybe he'll play well now because he is trying to get back in nba. I would give him a 10 day contract and test him out first.

When was the last time Bobby did anything? At least Gerald has upside and athleticism.

See what the kid can do in 10 days. Or we can pick some random Asian guy and see if he can be our Jeremy Lin. Haha

Green was player of the week in the Dleague. In the last 10 games or so he is averaging 25ppg while shooting something lik 55% from the field and 50% from the 3. Remember Jeremy Lin was nowhere right before he...........

went crazy.

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nba/story/2 ... on-costner

Green is ranked as the #1 propect in the D.

I also read the write up on Blake Ahearn. He is now considered the most prolific scorer in the history of the D League. He is really lighting it up. 32ppg I think and shooting percentages that are unheard of.

ahern is a great shooter, but not a good defender. simmons can take a 10 day contract and see where it leads. its a low risk signing. if hes good then we are good. if hes bad, then its only a 10 day.
