Kevin Love is currently putting up 25ppg 14rpg. Is there evidence that this power forward is the best all around player in the NBA. There is no one guy who dominates the stats page. But Love seems to do the best in many different categories overall.

Love is #2 in the Efficiency rating. He is #1 in double doubles. He is #2 in scoring. #2 in rebounds. #2 in Reb/Pts/Asts average.

Now Kevin just won the 3 point shooting contest by beating out Kevin Durant.

When was the last time a Power Forward/Center has done that?

Some fans will say the best player in the world in Lebron James. Others Kevin Durant. And none of these 3 have won a ring yet.

Love seems to be the best around player in the NBA statistically?

So the question is, does that make him the overall best player?

Dwight Howard received the most votes for All Star?

Lebron seems to be the most dominant? But is he clutch? Does he win you games in the 4th quarter...consistantly? Or is Kevin Durant that guy?

Really......zero post game.....can't guard anybody? In the last game against the Clippers he guarded DJ...2 points! The coaches voted him an All Star when they had lots of other choices. But I guess they don't know anything.

How do many NBA coaches quickly evaluate a player's game performance? They check his efficiency.

NBA.com evaluates all players based on the efficiency formula: ((Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks) - ((Field Goals Att. - Field Goals Made) + (Free Throws Att. - Free Throws Made) + Turnovers)).

Love's post game is as good as Blake's , his defense is average not very good but not to bad either.

JamFan

I agree with most of your post , though there's one thing you forgot athleticism which is Love's main weakness if he had half of Blake's athletic ability he would be hands down the best player in the league and would be pushing for greatest power forward of all time , unfortunately he doesn't.

Though I still think by the time it's all said and done he'll have an MVP trophy and a hall of fame career.

omg he guarded dj Shocked he's such a beast stopping dj from scoring 8 points. what's his post move again? no hook shot, no spin move, no fade away. most of his moves starts facing up. he gets his points in put back.

here's where it gets interesting. his own gm doesnt even believe he's the franchise player they want to build around. the gm didnt even want to give him the max contract with max year

no his defense is weak. something that would make blake's defense last year looks like a dpoy candidate.

what's his post move again?

if blake got love's shooting range, he'll be mvp... see we can do that to all nba players down to the 12th man on the bench. if bledsoe has rondo's passes and court generalship, he'll be an all star. see what i did there

No, I wouldn't put Love in the discussion for best player in the league. Best PF, sure. Best player, no. He's an amazing rebounder and a great three point shooter, but IMO, all the other aspects of his game are just good to average. He's not a great defender -- holding DJ to 2 points is not much of an accomplishment.

And if Love was really the best player in the league, I question whether the T-Wolves would be struggling to be .500, since there's now decent talent surrounding Love.

As much as I have my issues with him, LeBron is the best all-around player in the league. Great scorer, great passer and great defender.

Not sure if you've heard of this guy LeBron. Points/Rebounds/Assist, a playmaker and a shutdown defender.

Makes his entire better. Does KLove make anyone better?

Love? Lmao wow. He is not even top 10 players

No disrespect but he shoots under 45%! thats bad for a big man.

& he is the only one that can rebound & score on that team.

But no he is not best all-around player. Lol

Love is pretty darn good. But the best player in the league probably doesn't shoot 45% from the field. Otherwise, he's got a nice all around game. Certainly the best rebounding power forward in the league (well, starting power forward). Also the "best all around" player is probably going to have to be a better ball handler. Sad, but true...because my favorite players tend to NOT be ball handlers as I always appreciate a good center or power forward.

He may be the best power forward in the league (MAY, I say). But, as I've suggested before, he's just keeping the seat warm for when Blake takes over in the future. Razz

Best all-around player aka mr "I can do it all" has to be Wade. But one LeBron learns to work that post, it's over.

It's LeBron and all the numbers prove that out.

Odds on favorite to the MVP award again.

Most sportscasters annoint Lebron as the mid season MVP. Personally, I think they are confused about who is the best and who is MVP. Its Funny, when I went into NBA stats looking for the best all around player I was surprised to see what I saw. Lebron is not the leader in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Field Goal %, FT %, or 3PT %. He wasn't #1 at any of the top 9 categories they list. Among sportcasters, Kevin Durant gets the second mosts mentions as the best. Surprise, Kevin doesn't lead in any....

If I had to pick a player to start a team with, I'd pick Lebron James #1. He is just hard to stop and such a good ball handler, and very good passer too. Defensively he can pretty much guard any non-center. He just has the whole package, maybe except free throw shooting at crunch time.

LBJ is the best player in the NBA, hands down. people just like to talk S*** because he doesnt take the last shot in games, but hes a facilitator ala magic. he will never be MJ, kobe. lbj is more dangerous as a playmaker than a scorer. plus he is a great defensive player. anyone who can shut down drose for 4 games and make him look ordinary is a great defender.

Lebron is a monster and as someone said earlier more of a facilitator than a last second shooter guy. But, I will continue to let the world keep forcing him and critisizing him for not taking the last shots so he continues to choke and the Heat don't win a title.

I like Durant better because he can actually make a big shot at the end of a game unlike Lebron.
