I was watching the highlights of Blake's 47 points against the Pacers last year. Man, he was hitting a bunch of nice mid range jumpers. Mainly banking them off the backboard. To go along with a lot of nice inside plays. It would be nice to see those shots again.

It seems to me Blake is now getting the ball from 21 feet every time and shooting awkwardly. We need to figure out a way to get him closer to the baseline, like 18 feet or closer. And remember to use the backboard. He seems to have a nice touch with that, especially with some reestablished confidence. Not enough players use the backboard. I was watching some old Wilt Chamberlain footage. When Wilt wasn't dunking or scoring on finger rolls, he was tossing up bank shots with success. I think Blake could do the same thing.

^^^ Yeah, where did that bank shot go? He went to it fairly consistently last year with decent success. I don't know if I can remember him shooting once this season.

The best thing for me about that ESPN article was the link to Hoopdata

I don't know, but we need it back. LOL

Maybe the pick and roll plays is throwing it off. Just go back to sending it to him in the post and let him do his thing.

Heck I have no answers. Sad

He got caught up in the lob city hype, and would rather go for the crowed pleasing, spectacular dunks. That's what happened.

^idk about that. he seems to be trying to improve his game but the lack of practice time and training camp seem to have affected him significantly. it will be an ongoing issue the remainder of the season but hes still putting up 21 and 11 with defenders trying to literally r*** him in the paint.

Blake has never been like that. This team as a whole has never been hyping themselves as lob city. Blake said that in excitement when CP3 came and it has become a dark cloud over the team. They don't want that hype and neither do I.

On topic, I think VDN needs to seriously look at his offensive system with Blake and CP3 together in a room alone and figure out what works. Look at tape from last year's Blake and tape from last year's CP3 and make it come together.

CP3 has been great this year, but to be honest I think he played better and more rhythmically last year with a bunch of scrubs in New Orleans than he is now.

Maybe the front office should try trading Blake "Mr. Highlights- No Jump-shots" Griffin for Dwight Howard or Kevin Love... wake up people...he ain't that good.. I'm and LA sports fan i'm rooting for all LA teams, but Blake Griffin gets too much hype, understanding that hypes only remains in the regular season... Come play-offs time his air defying dunks will be less because of the more intense defense..

Seems like the stardom, the Kia commercials, the recent success has cut into his work ethic. He needs to go back to what has gotten him here. Good ol fashioned hard work and humility. I believe he will.

Yeah, definitely. Griffin needs to mature his game. If he can keep his athleticism and learn to shoot a nice mid-range jumper, he will be Shawn Kemp 3.0. D-West flourished with CP3 with the pick and roll. That is all they ran in NO. The downfall with D-West was his size and that he could not drive to the basket. If Griffin can learn some post moves and a consistent j, this offense will rocket.
