Man this guy seems like such a cool dude. I have never in my 14 years as a fan seen a player be this happy to be here. Everything about him is genuine and I hope his teammates take from that. As long as he keeps the same grateful and happy attitude he should be in a Clippers uniform.

Gill was too hard on this kid. He actually had 2 steals and 2 other deflections thank you very much.

As a bonus I included a new LA times article about Nick. "Nick Young ready to lend Clippers a hand". It includes a video about why he chose the Clippers.

It was so nice to see him take the ball to the hole and get to the free throw line(something our other guards and wings never do;Mo,Foye,ButlerGomes Simmons). I dont think people realize that's where Billups was so valuable he would always draw a foul to stop other teams momentum and judging by last nights free throws he got which helped us get over the hump and finally take the lead again It was bigger then people realize(and he shot 1 for 6 and hadn't played till Tuesday wow). His defence though is what made the biggest difference his length gave Stuckey and suprisingly Prince problems(conversly with Mo not in the game our D got better that's no coincidence).

I realize it and agree. Billups got to the line like 5 times a game. That was his biggest value besides leadership, 3 point shooting. Like you said nobody else can slash from wing and draw fouls at will. I love how he realized shot wasn't falling and slashed to rim for dunks. 8 free throws first game??? GREAT. 2 steals, 2 other deflections and active D? GREAT. The reason his shots were off was because he was nervous and with new players. Among that I feel like his teammates didn't use him properly.

The entire 4th quarter he was wide open from 3 calling for the ball and Chris Paul ignored him... instead choosing to pass to the ice cold Butler. That better change before the team creates a new chemistry issue. I thought Chris was smarter than that. He needed to help Young get going so he could loosen up a bit. That's his job as the PG.

I like how Cassell keeps repping the Clippers all the time in Washington. Young emphasized that in the Times interview.

I didn't notice this but if that's how teams react to our offense, Young is going to be huge for us. Much like how Billups was another deadly option at the perimeter, but Young also adds dribble penetration AND has some post game, and also draws fouls almost as well as Billups.

Blake inside and CP3, Young, and Butler on outside (I mean assuming Butler gets some of his shooting back), the opposition is going to have one hell of a day on defense, just like the Clippers pre-Billups injury Smile

id give cassell a chance to coach this team if vdn is canned after the season. young will help us indeed because hes the type of scorer who can light it up when hes on fire. plus he will get to the line, which will pressure the opponents who try to box us in. kendall gill forgets that young only dressed up to play about 45 minutes to game time. im going to guarantee at least 16-18 ppg from nick young when hes in our starting lineup. that would be huge.

I really like the acquisition... the only part that worries me is that Chauncey was a willing passer and very wise. Those are things that we are going to need to recover. With his veteran status he would figure how to guard all the prolific scorers and do a great job...

In a way, Mr Big Shot was the harness of this team, and although Nick is younger, stronger, faster... He lacks in experience and maturity.

Again, I LOVE the acquisition. He's motivated to play and the pressure is on to adopt the "winner's way", but I DO NOT think he will fill the void left by Billups.

I think he is a great addition and will cover up a lot of VDN's mistakes and stupidity. I think Young will be a big addition. There is no other Billups in the NBA. You can't really compare Billups to anyone. But Young will give us things Billups could not like. Speed, slashing, quickeness, exciting athletic plays. Opposing teams will have to guard Nick hard. This will free up the other players especially CP3 and if they don't guard Nick he will shoot the lights out. His addition I think will be huge since it will free everyone up. Great addition. Plus he really wanted to be here. I just hope he continues to defend and help on the rebounds. Like the kids smiling all the time hopefully it's infectious. BG really needs to smile like he did last year!!!

I agree. I would welcome Sam back to coach.

Its great to hear Sam talking about our team positively to Nick Young. I think Nick Young will turn out to be more of a steal than many of us think. While Nick Young and Billups both have different skill sets it will be nice to hopefully have both for at least a couple more seasons.

I would love to see Sam as coach. Since he gave us that miracle season. Back in 2006. Still stands as the best Clipper season. Until these Clips do something in the post season. That year still stands as my favorite team. I have more hope with thus squad. But so far I was expecting a lot more with this talented squad. So this year it still yet to determined in my books. Sam was the reason for us almost getting to WCF. Who know what had happened if dumb leavey wasn't coaching a lot like Vinny! I think Sam would be that miracle coach. I wouldnt mind seeing Sam coach this team. It would be like uniting 2006 with this squad. Plus Cassell won 2 titles as a player with the rockets. He played with the dream and could teach DJ some things. Then again at this point anyone would be a upgrade over Vinny the Idiot!

Young was passing great yesterday. 5 or 6 passes... wasn't ball hogging at all.

Funny how we had so many connections with former T-Wolves players: Sam Cassell, Ryan Gomes, Randy Foye, Craig Smith, Sebastian Telfair. Now, we're making connections with former Wizard players: Caron Butler, Randy Foye (still), and now Nick Young.

I'm excited about Nick Young because he scores in many ways and will perk up Vincenzo's muddled, moribund, predictable offense. Both Cassell and Chauncey had success here because they'd listen to their coaches and then do their own thing.

Randy Foye fades back into fourth or fifth guard status, which suits him well.

Nick Young can put it on the floor and slash to the basket. He's not afraid to shoot, because at 6'6" to 6'7", there aren't going to be many wing players out there who can block his shot. He takes his shots from the deep corner, from the top of the key, from the elbows, and pulling up in the paint for a mid-range shot.

With Caron Butler and Nick Young, teams can no longer put their small forward on Chris Paul or else either of those guys will punish the point guard, unlike Foye, who's happy of be there, lack of killer instinct, prone to stand statue-like, unwilling to take a shot, made him a liability out there.

I'm excited about the Clippers again.

This seals it for me. Neil Olshey as NBA Executive of the Year. No one else should be even close.

Ernie Grunfeld had a moment in the sun, but he had to fire Mike D'Antoni. Baron chirping about now playing and being a better suited point guard to feed the ball to Carmelo Anthony, who tried, but couldn't adjust to NY's successful offense.

I couldn't agree with you more Clippersam It's like were throwing away this year because of Vinny not being able to coach. The more disturbing thing about Vinny is he's about as clueless as Dunleavy that year none of us will forget. S**t I get the chills lately thinking as bad as Dunleavy's decision was putting Ewing in that critical inbound play to guard Raja Bell even though he hadn't played at all(If anyone's a clipper fan they should know that horrific playin that suns series) Vinny did almost the exact same thing this year by having Ryan Gomes inbound the ball against San Antonio even though he didn't play at all in the 4th that game.Scary...

He clearly fits in with the overall direction of the team. We clearly needed a pure scorer because Griffin and PAul are trying to hard to put up those points and thats not really what they should be doing. I just hoped that Kick would have had a better first game, but as long as he continues to get better and eventually gets to his 16PPG average
