You are aware the Rockets took the season series, right?

I agree that the Rockets are the most egregious abuser of the new touchy NBA rules, probably because they run a moneyball system that optimizes every possession (which in layman's terms mean they go for three or try to drive for the and-1 on almost every possession, taking no "inefficient" mid range shots). However, I don't really give a **** if they are likeable or not. The fact is, they are a tough matchup for the Spurs just like we are a tough matchup for them (we only won a couple o more games than the Rockets but they are probably our easiest opponent in the playoffs). So if we are interested in actually winning the chip, we need them around to give the Spurs a tough battle.

It's the Spurs. They don't give a **** about the regular season. They'll beat Houston with ease when it matters, especially since Harden and post-Orlando Dwight shrink in the playoffs.

Geez you let your hatred for teams and players cloud your thought process. The Spurs care very much about the regular season, which is why they had the best record in the NBA. Yeah, they play a deep rotation but they won't change that for the playoffs. The Rockets are a bad matchup for them because they don't have a good defense against Harden. They would probably beat the Rockets, but it won't be a cakewalk like it would be against the Blazers. That is, unless the Rockets are completely wiped out from a 7 game series and the Spurs are well rested.. which looks to be what is going on here. I hope both we & the Rockets backdoor sweep the rest of the games.

I disagree that the Blazers would be a cakewalk for the Spurs. Usually whenever they play in San Antonio, for whatever reason, they get insanely hot from beyond the arc and can't miss. It's been that way for years. Ask any Spurs fan, they'll tell you the same thing. But the Spurs would still take either team in 6 at the most.

Well, the bottom line is that the Rockets have a much better chance at upsetting the Spurs than the Blazers. BUT even if we forego that and assume that the Blazers beat the Spurs, I would still rather play the Rockets than either the Blazers or the Spurs. There's no reason for us not to want the Rockets to win this series, unless it's just for personal satisfaction of hating on them. What difference does it make? It's not like it matters for us if they go out in round 1, 2, or 3.

My Blazers will gladly do the honors. If we can, that is. I still think this series goes to 6 games.

If Beverley is seriously injured, the Rockets would REALLY have no chance against the Spurs. That's one of their only good defensive players - take him out and they're not stopping anyone.
