anyone else notice this? There are games where he gets all or the majority of his points early in the game. I know he doesn't have much of an offensive game if any outside of dunking. But why is it whenever we start a ballgame he's on the board usually rather quick, then he's a ghost on the offensive end the entire rest of the game?

I'm not saying lets feed him the ball and let him shoot 10 times a game, but if he can score out of the gate, obviously that's a bonus weapon for us and not just a guy like Bruce Bowen or Ben Wallace who scored like 5-7 PPG and were literally non existent on offense, thus allowing more double teams and help D for the opposing team.

I am sure he can get open throughout the course of the game. I bet fantasy basketball owners get excited every time the Clippers game starts and see that DJ has like 6 points in the first 4 minutes while following stats, then to see he finishes with 6-9 points total and wonder what the hell happened. I don't own DJ in my league but I think you guys get what I am trying to get across here, maybe he should be looked at as a scoring option a bit more than he is. It's not hard to maybe run a play or two for him every once and awhile, heck he shoots like 65% from the field there's not much of a risk.

its strategy.. they get DJ involved in the game so the bigs have to play honest, and give the guards more freedom.

It's great if we can get a defense to key in on him early because it opens up our 4 BETTER offensive options.

Vinny's doing a great job of using DJ's 'great dane' like game to free up our 'terriers' to do some damage in the 1st Q. I think it'd be cool if he'd switch back to it when circumstances dictated, just to shake things up.

i noticed clips go to him to score the first basket. idk if you guys have noticed that as well. but they always give it to him in the paint to score. i think i've seen him once pass it back to cp3 and cp3 just makes a play. but lots of times it's dj with a dunk or dj with a miss. lol

as a fantasy leaguer, i do get happy when DJ scores cuz i have him on 2 teams. lol. i think DJ is showing that he is not as clumsy on the offensive end as everyone thinks. i know he missed it, but that running hook was nice. he is definately stepping up his game. and im happy to see that. the clips will be better off for it in the end. now, if the refs let him travel, walk with the ball and switch pivot feet ala bynum, i think he could easily score 15 to 18 points per game. lol.

DJ has always played well. It's hard to play better when your coach constantly takes you out in the 4th qtr the entire period. He is only avg 27 mins a game. Way 2 little for a 23 starting center. This goes back to a horrible coach.

I don't think it goes to horrible coaching, DJ wasn't a factor in Dunleavy's system and Dunleavy favors the post game and big men almost more than any coach I've ever seen in the last 10 years. I don't care what explanations people give. Yes I realize we have CP3, Griffin, Butler, Foye, Mo, Young etc to score on the team to surround DJ, and like I said I am not asking for DJ to get 10 shots a game or more, but it's a bit ridiculous that he does such a good job getting to the rim ( which we....

I'd also like to add the following, this forum has gotten a bit odd lately with actually having restrictions on being able to post. If I get thumbs downs on this post I won't be able to make a thread for like a month, but if I don't get any votes or if I get a few thumbs up on a post I've actually been sincere about and given statistical facts and sources I am free to post something that is, potentially worth reading down the line.

So if I made jokes or retarded statements on prior threads please put that aside. I am not asking for reputation votes or for you to thumbs up my thread, just don't be so hasty to disagree and flame me because I am making what I deem, a reasonable argument and statement. I may be hated, disliked or w/e by certain members and I can't fight that, nor do I care but I have waited a very long time to make a post in general, one that was at least worth a damn reading if I were a Clipper fan, rather than making some BS rant about firing Vinny, signing some jerk ass veteran like Allen Iverson or making a general complaint about how Griffin isn't putting up 27 and 15 a game.

Just get DJ the ball more he can just jump over people. And VDN play him in the 4th its getting ridiculous.

Oh and why doesn't Gomes play on the second unit as a 4 with KMart (our second units offense really can't get any worse. and if K mart is just fuc**ng around again bench him put in Evans

They give him the ball early so he'll be more involve in the game. They started doing this after he would take games off basically.

The footwork is getting better, but he still needs to improve his ball-handling. His defender easily tips the ball away.

DJ is still young and easily effected psychologically by the early involvement. For the rest of the team, this wouldn't seem to matter but I think it makes a difference for him.

This is a GREAT strategy. DJ should try this more often when a team is weak at C. He has the speed, hops, and touch to do something things. If he was as aggressive as Bynum (Bynum really sucks) on offense he would be a dominant big man. He actually finishes with authority and monster Jams near the rim (ala Shaq), he is way faster than Bynum down the court, DEANDRE ACTUALLY JUMPS unlike Bynum, Deandre does not get tired after being out on the court 30 seconds and Deandre is a better passer. Of course we do not NEED him to do these things...but it would make things easier for the rest of our guys if the other team has to worry about DJ doing something besides dunk. If DJ really wanted to he can be great offensively because of how strong he finishes. Lets hope he develops his offensive game in case we ever do need it.

And to summarize Bynum, I watch Lakers games to watch them lose, and it is sooo funny when Bynum gets the ball in the post, he backups up really fast REALLY QUICK like he is going to do something backs up backs up shakes left shakes right and bam he just loses the ball

ahahahhahahahhaaahahaha

Thats Bynum for you....

Yeah I noticed this...its almost like he gets nervous and he loses it. I also see him bouncing the ball it seems to HIGH and he just loses it that way. DJ has strength, speed, and if he works on his ball handling like you said

Shocked
