hey guys, I'd like you to read my friends article/discussion on 'Who is the Best Player' in the NBA that my friend Joe wrote. Any comments, positive or negative, are certainly appreciated. Thank you if you take the time to read it! in this article he ranks the best NBA players at their respective position Joe makes several points, so you will likely disagree with some of them. he praises Chris Paul over Derrick Rose. But says Blake Griffin is nowhere near Kevin Love or Dirk Nowitzki in short, "Lebron is the best player at ANY position," "Even mentioning Kevin Durant in the same conversation as Lebron is ridiculous." "Kevin Durant isn't a better player or teammate than Lebron." "Dwight Howard is the second best player in the league." "Kobe is one of the most overrated players in NBA history and I tell you why." "Sportscenter prefers Derrick Rose, but Chris Paul is significantly better." "Dirk Nowitzki is still way ahead of Kevin Love and Blake Griffin." (the reasons are given in the discussion below) Lebron is BY FAR the Best Player in the NBA, Durant, Kobe, Rose Can't Even Carry Lebron's Man Purse --- Ranking the best players at their positions It's that time of the year when people in the media start talking about the NBA MVP race. The award itself doesn't seem that important to me. It's another subjective award that has as much to do with public relations as it does with quality of play (Rose over LeBron last year is a perfect example). The debate about where basketball players rank against other basketball players is an interesting topic that generates a lot of conversation though, so below is my ranking of the best players at each position, ranked numerically in order starting with the best. Note that I'm not ranking who has had a better regular season this year. I'm ranking who the best players in basketball are at each position and how they rank overall against each other. Joe ESQ's All-NBA Team PG- Chris Paul (4) SG Dwayne Wade (3) SF Lebron James (the best overall, by far) PF Dirk Nowitzki (5) C Dwight Howard (2) Again, I'm ranking who the best players in basketball are at each position and how they rank overall against each other- #1 LeBron James (Miami Heat, SF) Best Player in the NBA By Far. "Lebron, best player- BY FAR." - Joe ESQ This one's easy. LeBron is head and shoulders above everyone else in basketball. He's the most physically gifted player in the league, and is the best or among the best in every single aspect of the game: on-ball defense, help defense, ball-handling, passing, scoring efficiency, rebounding, penetrating and even post offense. "Everything you can do I can do better"-LeBron can truthfully say that to everyone else on Earth about almost any basketball skill. As a result, LeBron puts up better stats than anyone. More important than any of his stats though is the fact that his presence on the court immediately makes everyone around him better. While that isn't really quantifiable, we have pretty solid proof of it based on his success....

"Lebron is the best player at ANY position,"

-Agree. Lebron is the most complete player in the NBA.

"Even mentioning Kevin Durant in the same conversation as Lebron is ridiculous."

-I wouldn't say ridiculous buy I'd say Durant still isn't a great defender or passer like Lebron.

"Kevin Durant isn't a better player or teammate than Lebron."

-Agreed.

"Dwight Howard is the second best player in the league."

-Disagree. Dwyane Wade/CP3 IMO are second best.

"Kobe is one of the most overrated players in NBA history and I tell you why."

-Agreed, I don't want to explain, I have too much to say.

"Sportscenter prefers Derrick Rose, but Chris Paul is significantly better."

-Agree. Derrick Rose is not a pure point guard like CP3 and many may not agree with me but i personally think Iverson in his prime is better than Drose today.

"Dirk Nowitzki is still way ahead of Kevin Love and Blake Griffin."

-Yes he's ahead but i wouldn't say ''way ahead'' of Blake and Love because even though he has gotten a championship hes been in the league for over a decade.

I've been reading these boards a while, clipper fan. Love CP3. But this **** made me have to join and make a post.

Now wait a minute, Kobe is NOT one of the most overrated players in the league. It's clear your friend is a Lebron/Wade or more specifically a HEAT fan, so they are trying to discredit everything Kobe has accomplished. First, let me state Lebron is the best player this year, but NOT by as much as yall claim he is. Kevin Durant is JUST as good in my opinion. Head to Head stats this year are virtually the same and Thunder has a better record that Heat does.

Let's look: Durant averages 27.9 ppg, 8rpg, 3.5apg, 50%fg, 85%ft, 38% 3pt.

Lebron averages 26.8ppg, 8rpg, 6.5apg, 53%fg, 78%ft, 36% 3pt.

So how is Lebron far better? Only thing he has ahead of Durant is field goal percentage, and when you take into account how many of those are easy layups and dunks, of course his FG% would be higher.

When OKC first played Miami in OKC, Durant DEMOLISHED Lebron. His team won by 16 points. Durant had 28 points on 55% shooting, 9 rebounds and 8 assist. Close to a triple double. Lebron had 17 points on 44% shooting, 3 rebounds, and 7 assist. And his team won by 16 like i said. Durant clearly beat him head to head in all aspects.

When OKC and Miami played in Miami, Durant had 30 points on 52% shooting, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Lebron had 34 points on 50% shooting, 7 rebounds and 10 assist. His team only won by 6 points. Although Lebron outplayed him in Miami, it was not by as much as people think it was.

Clearly everyone wants Lebron to win the MVP this year, but don't act like he's miles and miles away from Durant. As you can see, the stats are closer than alot of people think. Okay Lebron outplayed Durant in Miami, but Durant outplayed him in OKC, plus Durant's team won by more! Not to mention Durant's team has a better record. I see no reason why Lebron should get it over Durant to be honest. Of course your friend says Lebron is a more efficient scorer, hell i would be too if i got alot of my points outta transition and driving to the rim for fancy sportscenter dunks. Rebounding is about the same, as you can see from the stats, both average 8 rebounds per game.3. I'll give you defense maybe, and passing, but like i said, Lebron is not the clear cut MVP this year.

Now back on Kobe. I'm not even gunna go into detail about why he's wrong on so many of his points. It's clear he's a Heat fan/Kobe hater, so it's no use. Next time he writes an article, tell him to be a little less bias.

the thing when talking about durant vs LBJ is that you have to factor in that lebron is an elite defender. the way he shut down drose in the eastern conference finals was epic. he isnt extremely ahead of durant, but he is probably the most likely player to win mvp. imo, tony parker and cp3 should also be given consideration. you want to know whats an example of a player being ahead of his so called contemporary? jordan vs kobe. jordan was by far a more efficient scorer. better passer, more clutch and a legendary defender. kobe is a volume shooter, great scorer slightly less clutch, and an overrated defender. i never saw jordan allow players like gilbert arenas and michael redd to score 60 and 57 on back to back games respectively. whats worse is that kobe tried to justify himself getting torched by saying their shots were crazy shots. lmao. put it this way, if jordan had shaq, he would have matched bill russell's consecutive titles. just saying.
