Notes: All-Star F Elton Brand, trying desperately to salvage something out of this dreadful season for himself and the Clippers, said he hopes to play sometime during the team's two-game trip through Seattle and Sacramento. Brand, who tore his left Achilles' tendon Aug. 3 during a daily workout, and underwent surgery four days later, has been cleared to play by the medical staff — but he's only had one full-court practice with the team because of a lack of healthy players. "We'll have a better feel for it Monday," he said of when he'll play his first game. ... Addressing speculation that he will opt out of his contract, Brand said: "I'm planning to be a part of this team next year. I'm not saying I'm not opting out or am opting out. But negotiation-wise, as long as everything is fair, I expect to be back here. My agent, David Falk, will take care of the arrangements, but that's the goal."

Good news on both fronts. I think he will opt out but is looking for love from this franchise. As long as he gets it, he stays a Clipper. I am almost certain it comes down to numbers & years. Good as gold he stays. |

| I'm pretty sure they wont but I really hope the organization doesn't do anything to lose Brand. He's such a key player to this team and with some players brought in through free agency and draft along with Mobley, Thornton, Kaman, and possibly Livingston and Maggette we are set to go. |

| I'm sure that they won't and I am sure they will be more than fair with the face of the franchise. If they do let him slip from their hands, I blame the Franchise and the people they employ. He will be here next season...no doubt. |

| Looks like thursday or saturday he'll be playing according to sources. Fazekas & Powell played tough tonight, but that's not a good enough tandem to replace Brand & Kaman. It will be great to have both back at full strength next year. |
