Al Thornton ties the Clippers rookie record for most points in a game. Al Thornton becomes only the third Clipper Rookie to get 39 pts in a game during his rookie season. He not only tied the record but got his career high. Way to go Al!
He was 13-23 for the day.

Tom Chambers
Terry Cummings
By the way, had he made the missed FT in the final 2 minutes he would have broken the record. You can't win em all but he is in good company. |

Yeah I wish he had gotten the ball one more time, but the Grizz were doubling him and denying him the ball. Aw well- heck he has 9 more games now to get 40+  |

| The fans were booing the team when they didn't get Al the ball those final minutes. Especially when he first hit the 39 mark and the Clippers were bringing the ball up the court. Man Al was running around everywhere with his hands up trying to get the ball....oh well maybe he can do it within the last remaining games. Really wish he would of hit 40+ |
