I know most of us are proud of the way Bledsoe has been playing throughout the playoffs. That is why I got to thinking last night about our future at the PG spot. I was one of the few Bledsoe critics here that didn't think he would amount to much...Boy, was I wrong!

I'm at the point where I think Bledsoe has had more of an impact on both ends than CP3 has. Not saying CP3 sucks, just saying Bledsoe has stepped up more than CP3. If for some reason, CP3 decides he wants to go elsewhere, I have no problem with Bledsoe leading our team. That's how much I NOW believe in Pitbull.

Last night, I saw a player rise from obscurity, to a young man making a name for himself. Bledsoe is making everyone around him better now, something he did very little last season. Watching EB set up BG where he loves the allyoop ( turn around) was a thing of years past. Watching him set up Martin on that behind the back pass was also what we missed from last season.

CP3 is a monster in his own right, but his way of doing things, is different than what we saw last season. Bledsoe brings back the things that made our team exciting last year. In that respect, I love that. That is going to make BG and DJ happier. He'll bring back our identity but hopefully, with a lot more wins.

Keeping Bledsoe has turned out to be just as great as bringing in CP3.

*****Sorry guys, no spellcheck. wrote this up quickly cause I have to leave to see a doctor.

I agree. CP3 walks... Bledsoe is good insurance. Only thing I'll regret at that point is letting Gordon go. This is exactly why Olshey refused to let Bledsoe go in CP3 deal. He believes in Bledsoe just as much as we do. Bledsoe's defense was predicted by all of us. We all knew he was going to become an elite defender and surprises none of us. What we DIDN'T expect was the significantly improved ballhandling, playmaking, shooting etc he's shown in the playoffs. I thought for him to develop the offensive side of things would take 3-4 years. Something else is amazing is he's been clearly learning CP3's tricks with that back leaning up against defender move! Makes me laugh! No better PG's in the game to learn from that CP3+Billups.

ive always been a ebled supporter. there was a reason he was seen as kentucky's best player even when john wall and demarcus cousins got the spotlight. i was ecstatic when we traded for him in the draft. like i said if cp3 were to walk, then ebled would not be a bad replacement. if cp3 stays, we can use ebled ala bobby jackson with shutdown defense. that is a scary thought for opposing teams.

The exact reason why Olshey would not send Bledsoe in the trade deal. If CP3 decides he wants to leave for somewhere else, Bledsoe can take over. That was the entire plan of why we drafted him in the first place. I however whole heartily feel that Bledsoe will not be a great starting PG in this league and would be best served as a 6th man or a 25+ MPG bench player. He needs a lot of work on setting up plays, passing better, showing patience, scoring in general, free throw shooting but his D is really on point and it's his biggest attribute next to his blowout speed.

I think the big difference in bledose this year from last is Cp3. He is sitting behind the best pg in the league and obviously learning a hell of a lot. His passing has grown leaps and bounds from last year as well as his decision making. I dont see Cp3 leaving we have a great situation here and plenty of cap room with mo going to opt out. Yes guys he will his minutes are diminishing every game with the play of bledsoe and young.

Thanks to olshey who should have been executive of the year not bird he has positioned us very well. We have cap room with a good young core of paul, griffin, bledsoe, and dj.

Bledsoe his ceiling his so high its crazy. He can be like a gary peyton a great pg that can completely shut down and player he is guarding.

I see him doing some moves that CP3 does. Like when a defender is behing him and putting on the brakes to get the foul. If he can take some of the CP smarts with his skills he will be very good.

I'm proud of myself for believing in Bledsoe. He's one player on our team that I've NEVER turned on and always defended. Unlike DeAndre who looks so mentally weak, scared and shaken. Bledsoe just has this special confidence and heart to him. He's got as much heart as Reggie Evans and won't back down from anybody and I love that. Dude never looks scared. It's why he's been my favorite Clippers player this year.

^ thats what i like, his fearlessness. bledsoe has balls. if only DJ had those balls as well, he would be a monster inside. then again bledsoe looks like he lifts weights and never gets pushed out of position for lacking strength. maybe DJ should start lifting with bledsoe. that wouldnt hurt Dj

bled's been playing very well since he came back from injury, and has shown he's mentally composed when it comes to playoff pressure. (yall remember how erratic he was his rookie year?). its a good thing we have him locked up on a rookie contract till 2014 (potentially 2015)

and can you imagine if OKC never gave up his rights? wow

lets not get ahead of ourselves, though. CP is the purest PG to EVER play the game. lets not forget how much his leadership means to any team he plays on. lets not forget how he's essentially the most clutch player in the league today.

is bled showing signs of dependability? yes. he's an absolute BEAST on defense but he lacks the intangibles and shooting ability CP has. there's not a lick of leadership that exudes from bled. maybe this comes with time?

nick young described bled as a pitbull and my proposed nickname spread like wildfire. love it.

Disagree Ekker. Lately I've seen Bledsoe commanding the floor quite a bit. Yelling at teammates the way CP3 does. No doubt CP3 is rubbing off on him.

If u remember when cp3 came into the league, he was not a great shooter, definitely not as good as he is now. In order to stop him, ppl would always go under screens cuz he could get in the lane at will if they didnt. I think bledsoe can become a better shooter, but the main thing that will hold him back is that he only shoots set shots which are not as effective in a pick and roll setting.

The playoffs are where names get made and Bledsoe is emerging more than any other player has this post-season. It's like each game he's in, he continues to exceed expectations. With that said, we all know we want/need Chris Paul to be a successful franchise now and in the future. Best case scenario IMO is Bledsoe as backup PG/6th man, who will learn from CP3 over the next few years, and hopefully get lots of playing time with him on the floor.

It's going to be exciting watching Bledsoe develop.

Bledsoe is going to be a Bobby Jackson type but with less outside shooting and a lot more defense. A fan favorite and elite 6th man for years to come.

man if only odom was still effective and if we had him at the 3, its one of the few ways we could start both bled and cp.

odom doesnt need to hit the 3, we just need his length for the defensive end.

too bad odom has never played a lick of defense. we can start cp and ebled by having ebled run the show at times and allow cp to play sg. they would pressure a lot on the defensive end. they are exceptional defenders. but i think i like ebled off the bench more. i would put young as the starting 2. but yeah, watching ebled develop will be fun.

CP3 odds of staying with the Clippers IMO are +90%, so are pg situation with Bledsole starting to develope into something good speaks volumns for the future of this team.

Paul, the future HOF'r just makes everyone better and thats a rare thing thats very hard to replace...and here's hoping we won't have to for a long time.

This is absolute crazy talk. Chris Paul is a hall of fame player. He is an MVP candidate year in and year out. He made mediocre Hornet teams into scary playoff teams. The day he left the Hornets, they became a lottery team. The day he came to the Clippers, they stopped being a joke. He has carried this team this far, and now he is playing injured against the best and smartest team in the NBA which has no doubt designed its entire defense to stop Chris Paul. He has a bad game because of it, and his backup steps up and plays great. This is ONE game.

Don't get me wrong, I love Bledsoe. I think he deserves more playing time, and I love when he plays next to Paul. But this is ONE GAME. At most, he has played well the last 3 playoff games. Does nobody remember the 66 game season this year when Chris Paul carried us? Bledsoe was great in the 4th quarter of game 7--but does anyone remember the first 6.5 games when Paul carried us?

Bledsoe is also not a starting quality point guard. He is great as an energy player off the bench who can play great defense and get offensive rebounds and do other energy things. But to run an offense? To lead a team? To play against the other teams' starters for 36 minutes a night? Part of what makes Bledsoe so good is that he is a bench player, so he can exert crazy amounts of energy since he doesn't play big minutes. Last game, he was going so hard that he had to ask out of the game. You can't play that style of ball as a starter or someone who plays a lot of minutes. Bledsoe just would not be that good as a starting point guard.

People have such terrible memory here. Chris Paul has done incredible things for this franchise, and he has one bad game playing hurt and everyone jumps on the Bledsoe bandwagon. The minute Paul leaves and Bledsoe starts, we're a 30 win team at best(in an 82 game season).

CP3 is the best PG in the game...

Bledsoe is emerging as a good NBA player with unlimited potential... What this really does is make Mo Williams the expendable one. There is no way we need or want 3 guards at 6'1" or less. CP3 is irreplaceable... Bledsoe has too much potential and is on his rookie contract, which makes him an incredible bargain only a fool would trade.

If Mo exercises his option and stays, he should be traded. If he doesn't that money should be used on Nick Young and another piece or two. But Bledsoe stays...

He can relieve CP3 for 15 minutes a game and get another 10-15 as Young's backup... I'm assuming here that Young is our starter next year and Foye is gone.

Bledsoe is only going to get better. Look at the improvement he's made in one year... If at some point, he improves enough to rival CP3, then think of the players we could get for CP3... Maybe Gordon, Kaman, Aminu and a # 1 pick... Well, forget Aminu.

But the point is, we're not there yet. Nor might we ever be, but it would be a high quality problem to have. Being able to trade one of the best players in the game because his replacement is groomed and ready... A team doesn't get in a better situation than that.

Yeah, I love what Bledsoe has done. And I'll admit there are times I'm thinking, "Chris, stop slowly dribbling the ball down the court and RUN like EB!"

But having said that, Paul is a one of a kind, special leader. And as well as he's played this year...and as much credit as he deserves turning the Clippers around...he and the team are going to be so much better next year. A whole year and post season under their belt? Plus, a full training camp to start next season? Blake in his 3rd year? I can't wait to see what happens!

I personally say no. We need two units with power scorers in each unit,,right now EB is one and CP3 is the other. I would start CP3 and Young. Use Mo/Foye to rest Young, EB to rest CP3. Between Foye and Mo,,use the the one not being used to rest any of the four when needed. If Foye gets hot,,which he can do with the 3 ball,,,leave him in. In the 4th leave whomever is hot with CP3 to close the game.

Next year Mo is gone,,maybe Foye too. I had said at the end of the year when EB was getting a lot of minutes it was really his tryout for next year when the FO decides which guard to drop and I felt is was between EB and Mo. EB got hot, Mo is not. Mo gets crazy sometimes. Mo will be a starter on some other team.

In the +/- rating during the Memphis series, EB was +42 and Chris Paul was -9.

Eric is only 22 years old. Some of the things he needs to work on will come with hard work and experience. He certainly is getting valuable experience now during the playoffs.

Just imagine what he is going to be like at age 24. Wow!

If I'm the Hornets, I'm pissed they didn't get Bledsoe. EG is really good but he's injury prone. He played like 8 games this season and now he's a free agent.

Imagine how much sicker OKC would be if Bledsoe was never traded to us?

Anyways, we don't trade Bledsoe. He's our PG of the future, especially since CP3 hasn't extended.

no one is saying cp3 will leave. i personally think he will stay with the clips along with BG. but ebled makes other players expendable (foye, mo). in 2 years tops, the clips will have the best pg duo in the league. by trading mo, we might be able to get a good backup center and financial flexibility. cp3 is a hof'er when it is all said and done. he will retire as a clipper. it will be a great situation if bledsoe compliments cp3 for many years to come.

I like Bledsoe... I dont want to get rid of him. I think he is the pointguard of our future. He's strong, has springs surgically implanted in his knees, and he has heart... This guy will go up with anyone to the rim and try to block that dunk

I've loved Bledsoe since he started for Baron for that stretch very early in season. I saw a player who was so raw.. and so out of control but ALWAYS came up with a couple awe inspiring plays. Ones that left me surprised as hell. It's funny because last year it was Griffin I was glued to the TV for... but this year it's Bledsoe. When he's on the court I give 110 percent attention to the game. He's just so special and exciting. Watch all the subtle things he does that show great instincts and you'll be impressed. For example the guy RARELY gets caught up on a screen. He has such good speed+strength to where he will go THROUGH your center.

Huh? This is was Bledsoe validation thread. No one is scared, I'm juts saying that if it came to that, I'm happy we have Bledsoe. I glad not all Clippers fans interpreted it the way you did. But since you just came aboard, you get a pass.

Omg I had the same exact feeling, I like Cp3 and all but Bledsoe seems to play the Clipper way, the clipper style. Its hard to imagine how we would have been with an All Star Center in Kaman a top Tier Shooting Guard in EJ, Baron Davis and a number one draft pick that could have been irving or thompson.

I love Cp3 but I still miss Baron's play making and ability to get the ball anywhere on the court. I also notice a lot of times commentators usually get annoyed when one person dribbles the ball for almost the whole possession but we see Cp3 do it all the time.
