This game is one of the 2 games that I predicted the CLIPPERS would win the rest of the season.
But after watching the game last night against the LAKERS, these guys are young, fast, and they don't quit.
That has me wanting to retract my prediction, but lets see if the center position does prove to be a pivotal role and limit them to the penetration drives that they were able to cash in on last night.
This game will be also be used as an evalutaion for Mike Miller, and see what he has to offer should the Clips put him on or Christmas list. |

Thanks for making the game thread 714. Yeah I hope we play well- it's not going to be easy. The interesting thing is that if the Grizz win, they'd only be one game "ahead" of the Clippers for 4th place in the lotto. Knicks are one game ahead of us and Minnesota is only 2 games ahead in 3rd place.
So in theory if we keep tanking like this we could potentially get to 3rd in the lottery (if all the ping pong balls fall the way they should). I don't think we'll be able to catch Seattle or Miami. |

| Kinda ironic that we are still in a race...just not the one we wanted. Stay tuned for "tank" watch 2008.... |

| Shall we support for the Grizz???I hope a good game by Navarro with lots of 3's and impressing Dunleavy. Now he's coming off the bench but as I said he's playing as a microwave for the grizz |

| I hope we lose a close, hard fought battle. I'd like to be able to draft Derrick Rose. |

Didn't want to make a separate post so I thought I'd just throw this out there for you guys...whoever is around.
Just read a quick 5 Q & A with Sam Cassel and thought the last 2 questions where a bit interesting so I thought I'd share it.
Q: Were the Clippers just one-hit wonders?
A: That hurts. That would really hurt me, because I really enjoyed playing in L.A. I really enjoyed the fans in L.A. … I took 'em for one helluva ride. I took 'em somewhere where a lot of people didn't expect. We were one f---ing shot away from the Western Conference finals and having the opportunity to beat Dallas. And we split with Dallas [during that] regular season.
But I've been here three weeks and Doc [Rivers] and Danny [Ainge], you can see [they're] on the same page. They went out and filled in the pieces to make this organization be where it's supposed to be. This is a great organization. These people around here really take care of you.
Q: Is that why the Clippers have unraveled? Because the powers that be aren't on the same page?
A: They also lost Elton Brand. You know what I'm saying? When I found out that Elton tore his Achilles, I knew it; I knew what this season would be. We got off to a 4-0 start and everyone went gung ho. I was like ho, ho, ho, hold up. Golden State on opening night, emotions won that game. Then we beat Seattle, Chicago and Indiana, basically three teams under .500 right now.
I knew [a buyout] was gonna happen eventually. That's why I got David Falk [as an agent]. He told me, 'Just be patient, don't cause no trouble.' Because they say I'm a troublemaker. But they weren't going to re-sign me back next year, so why not?

No love for the Clippers ever (not from Sam I'm talking about the media, as well as the public)

Right As I say for baseball: Is it really that exciting when the Yankees win?
Based on that: the same goes for basketball and I think Clippers fans got more excited when we almost went to the Western Conf. Finals than Lakers/Pistons/Spurs/Suns/Mavs fans have gotten these last 5-10 years. |

Doesn't surprise me a bit. To say he TOOK us there is a half truth at best. He was the leadership we needed but he was also a liability. That 8 second count lost us our chance and I blame it on his arrogance. I guess his intentions were set before the season started and that is sad to hear cause I thought he was better than that and i wanted to think more of him...guess not. To start talking crap now is insult to injury.
ET.....phone home will ya? I hope you never get to see the finals again...unless it's from the planet you came from....good riddance! |

Looks like we may be able to hold on and win. C'mon guys, if you cant beat Memphis with Thornton, Maggette and Kaman playing, its pretty sad.
GO CLIPPERS! finish them off! |

| Wow 39 points thats just awesome! too bad he couldn't hit 40. Would of been a rookie clipper record, but ties it instead. Even the fans wanted him to hit 40. AHHHHH bummer no worries. |

Nice win and a GREAT job by Al. He really filled it up and made it look easy. Too bad he couldn't break the record. 67 points between he and Maggette- WOW what a front court combo performance tonight.
I'm glad we could break that ugly 10 game losing streak. Kaman's presence makes all the difference in the world defensively. And how about Brevin Knight- he played terrific- hitting J's, making great passes, and playing good defense as always. 11 assists to only 1 turnover, 6 of 8 shooting, 1 steal + 1 block- can't ask more than that for your starting PG. |

Congrats to Al Thornton!!!!
He's the best thing we have had this season along with Kaman's improvements. He just have to be more regular in his game...I mean some games he struggles shooting and he should find the way to impact on the game doing other things: defense, dishing the ball...If everything goes as it should, next year he should have to share the shots with more players (mainly EB) so he should have to upgrade in other areas...But anyways the player we have seen is better than what we could expect so it's great.
About Cassell I wouldn't be so "hard"...I mean he shows love for the fans from LA and I really thing he was the main part for the Clippers mentality change. I see him grateful to the team despite this final year.I know without EB we wouldn't have done nothing but we have to recognize Cassell as the vocal leader. He was in the final days of his career so for me is easy to understand his buy out. I don't feel bitter |
