a playmaking 2 guard that does everything. He would fill our needs perfectly. Is it even in the realm of possibilities?

If he's not getting the max, he's staying with OKC.

And we can't afford the max.

Free agent from Cali in 2013, rt?

He has KD and Westbrook on his team so I think defenses are geared to stop those two (both were in the top 5 in scoring this season). He is excellent off the bench, provides pop when one or both of your stars need rest, and is invaluable late in games. He's like a Ginobili.

It's so much easier to stack your numbers going against second units every night. But then again can you think of any 2 guards that are better than this guy who aren't named Kobe or Wade.

In a word.. NO.. I honestly dont think we need him.. we just need a better offensive scheme. I think the shooters we currently have are good:

Young

Foye

Williams

Butler

Billups

No matter how you look at it. There was a 0% chance of him coming to LA. even if we did have the $.

One word... STREAKY. So yeah, we have good shooters...when they can hit shots.

Young is as streaky as they come. Take a lot of WTF shots.

Williams has one good game and in between, a lot of GTFO performances

Butler has been a total disapointment

Billups might be clutch late in games but he had one of his worst shooting% seasons when he was on the floor.

Is James Harden related to Baron Davis in any way...

Ill agree with you about everything except for Billups, his numbers might have been down but that because he was trying to learn a new roll in a very short amount of time.. instead of being the primary ball handler (that he originally thought he would be) he played off the ball as a SG, which made him a shooter vise a distributor first, shooter second.

That DJ deal just sux. I bet Blake and CP would join up and get team friendly contracts if they could get Harden.

But paying DJ 11mil a yr is going to kill this team.

James Harden is most likely going to get the max contract offer from some team- I'm not sure if OKC will match. They probably will, which will scramble their salary cap situation and make it very hard for them to re-sign Ibaka, who will command $10+ million.

No.

Some team will give him max money, OKC is probably not going to be able to afford him and Ibaka.

Few things...

1 - Harden is going to get big time bucks from OKC, and they are probably going to advance at the very least, to the WCF to play San Antonio unless there's a miracle on both ends.

2 - Harden can command 10+ mill a year easily, and Indiana is a team on the lookout for a guy like Harden or Gordon AND they have the cash to do so.

3 - We don't have that kind of money to spend, unless we trade DeAndre. But CP3 wants DJ here, Blakes good friends with DJ so it may work against us to trade DJ. I am fully confident CP3 and Blake can help DJ become a more well rounded player in the near future.

4 - I have faith that over the next 3 years we'll see a transformation of DJ into a Tyson Chandler type C. He'll be better at Man 2 Man D, this playoff experience he has should help, and you can't go wrong with having CP3 and Blake being teammates. DJ regressed towards the end of the season / playoffs but maybe it was because of the pressure, the jam packed schedule ( remember we played more games than almost every team down the last 20+ games or so ).

cp3 and james harden would be a killer backcourt and a CHAMPIONSHIP one. I dont know but I'm excited to see what Neil does. Harden is far FAR away from us but if any way we got him I would be one happy dude. Chaunceys just to short to play the 2 guard and to good to be a backup. Well he is 35 or 36 maybe in this stage of his career he could be the most valuable bench player ever? I mean a finals mvp who is still good to be your backup guard and to play harden chauncey cp3 when the games on the line would be a killer trio. Along with Blake and hopefully a better DJ will be nice.

billups was actually shooting 44 percent from 3 before he got hurt. just have him take 10 shots from 3, he will at least make close to 5. plus his craftiness made him a nightmare matchup when he was out on the court. and no, we dont have a shot at harden. he would be more expensive than EJ. he wont get the max, but he will get at least 12-14 million.

Of the five guys you mentioned, only one is signed for next year. We clearly need to think about who our two guard should be.

Mo is too small to pair with CP3. Foye too inconsistent. Billups is old and may not come back well at his age from a serious injury... Young is worth considering, but he's a lot like Foye, inconsistent...

Butler, unless traded, will be our SF... Our shooting guard spot is wide open and we couldn't find anyone better than Hardin to fill it. Also, Hardin lives in LA...

That said, there is no way OKC lets him get away... But clearly, our search for a shooting guard starts now.

i know harden would be perfect, but i think the okc thunder will rework contracts if they have to in order to sign both ibaka and harden. but i agree sammays, we need a consistent 2 guard.

I wish but no. I'm sure he would re-sign with OKC. I wouldn't leave that place right now. He loves that role too i'm sure.

Harden is nice for sure but it appears that the 3-headed monster in OKC will not be broken for many years to come. I think we should simply bring back Billups 1yr/Young multi-year deals, sign&trade/amnesty/waive Gomes/Mo/Foye and go after either Ray Allen or OJ Mayo to shore up that SG position. Billups should be backing up Paul not playing SG for us but with Bledsoe on the rise our PG spot is pretty much sewn up.

Harden will get a fat contract offer and okc will match it why not just go after Ray Allen prob get him for 6-7mil sign him for two years
