this greek kid looks like a potential steal. i would trade a future 2nd rd pick to move up and get him. if hes gone, id go after reeves nelson out of ucla as contingency in case evans prices him self out of what we should pay him. nelson can hit the 20 footer, is athletic, tenacious, tough defender and brings the same toughness with which kmart plays with.

no thanks on Nelson, seems like a bad apple, not what we need especially from a rookie

The downside of this idea is when CP3 leaves besides trading EB youre empty handed though I like the Idea having a vet e.g. Nash as a backup for CP3 plus getting the same talent as Ebs as a SG or F via a S&T.

Imo there is no way of trading EB as long CP3 hasnt commited to LAC WITH a signature under his extension and this most likely will not happen for the coming season. So you should get used to the idea EB stays around at least 1 more year.

Now that our season. Neil Olshey has 1 job left b4 he leaves LAC. Pick our 53rd pick. I saw this dude NEMANJA NEDOVIC on youtube. He's amazing and he'll be at or near our pick. He's from Serbia. We have found gold in the 2nd rd. of late. Who should we draft? Hey maybe buy a 1st rounder. Razz

The Clippers are allergic to foreign-born players.

Nemanja is a great Talent, quick and athletic but sadly with 6'3 nothing we need.

what we need is legit toughness on this team, in case kmart and reggie leave. plus hes skilled and plays with hustle just like reggie, except he doesnt shy away from taking hard fouls like reggie and can score from the outside 5 feet. he would be worth a look with the 53rd pick. can become our own kenneth faried. if u are saying he is a bad apple from the SI story about the struggles of the bruins, there is a reason why hes suing SI for 10 million dollars for defamation. plus with cp3, BG and the vets we have, he will be under control.

we have plenty of talent, we need more effective role players. idk that we can expect a high caliber talent with the 53rd pick. i mean it can happen. (manu ginobili comes to mind) but its extremely rare.

I'm hoping we can find a Michael Jordan with the 53rd pick!! That would be a steal!

papanikolau reminds me of vlad radmonivic.

how about these 2 names (again, the late 2nd round pick is just a crapshoot so why not try for a guy that has done one thing EXCEPTIONALLY well throughout his college career - shoot the three)

john jenkins 6'4" SG Vanderbilt

avg 8.7 3's a game: 44%

undeniably consistent shooter

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Joh ... 826/stats/

marcus denmon 6'3" SG Missouri

avg 7 3's a game: 41%

doesnt turn the ball over, scores at will, thrives off the ball, better perimeter defender than jenkins

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Marcus-Denmon-6491/

make it happen, make it rain.

you can draft anyone and make them a michaell redd, arenas, eliss, or giniboli, it's called development, but our staff sucks ass so I'm sure this guy will get cut by next year.

looked at the draft a little closer and first thought is that those posters who are makin' noise for Reeves Nelson.... personally would much prefer Yancy Gates....

and do agree that Hollis Gentry makes alot of sense at 53, and.... after thinking it over some, would opt for Gates instead and mostly because we are now a playoff team, and again personally have little doubt that Gates is a playoff caliber defender, rebounder and perhaps scorer, and.... given that Gomes has one more year on his contract, would prolly wait another year to go after a sf in the draft.... we can't wait on a big, 'specially if KMart sells himself out for starter's money....

the other guy I like is Tyshaun Taylor, again especially if Donald and Neil are willing to go out and buy us a late first rounder....

and just to cover my bases, and just in case someway somehow Neil was able to come into a mid first rounder, two other guys that I think could help would be Meyers Leonard and Terrence Ross.... Arnett Moultrie is of some intrigue as well....

all that said, am gonna cast my vote for Yancy Gates, and that with hoping that someone like Laimbeer, Stan Van Gundy, or Monty Williams is brought in.... someone that can mold him into a wise man and NBA contributor....

DJ fell to us with the first pick of the second rd. and trey was the 41st or 43rd pick i believe. however the kid hasnt gotten any playing time. hope that changes next year. look at the rockets when they drafted chandler parsons. they put him to play and he became a valuable contributor. i guess the moral of the story is to play whoever u draft. see if they can become valuable players on your roster.

ive been saying to draft reeves nelson because 1) hes from my fave college team, ucla. 2) he is a rugged, tough and skilled 6'9 pf who can replace kmart or reggie if they both price themselves out of what the clips want to pay them. he would definately bring the bad boys mentality. now if we could get lambeer to come in to work with our forwards and DJ. yancy gates might be a good fit as well. i also love your tyshawn taylor suggestion. ive always liked his game.

gonna throw a few more names out there, none of which I wish upon the Clippers.... think Will Barton could well defy his second round grade and be a shifty but solid contributor at off guard.... think Ognjen Kuzmic is worth a throwaway pick to stash him in Euroville for awhile.... and don't think he gets drafted, and.... would think that Miles Plumlee might be able to make an NBA roster somewhere....

that said, still like Yancy Gates and/or Hollis Thompson....

Will Barton can't defend ***** and won't fall that much since he can actually hit it from anywhere. Ezeli would be huge if he falls like DeAndre did, but I doubt it. There is this amazing little shooter Kevin Murphy, who has great range. I think we should just try to cover the 2-3 or 5 spots with young and cheap guy. Centers can play with good coaching even from the late 2nd round!

Maybe Orlando Johnson will drop to the Clippers in the 2nd round. He would be a total steal there because not as well known as he played for the UCSB Gauchos.

I hear Houston are looking to ship the 16th pick. We should try to get it somehow as in that region there are some very talented small forwards!

would Mo Williams and our 2013 first rounder be enough to get back their first rounder this year, and along with Chase Budinger and Courtney Lee ??

dunno.... am thinking Mo is still really valuable to us as CP3's health is never a given, and Bledsoe is still developing, and.... think he would be equally as valuable to Houston as they could use a scoring pg with a shot to complement Lowry....

if we did lose Mo, would hope that we replace him with someone of like quality/ability.... my first choice would be to buy a late first round pick and draft Tyshaun Taylor for our third string pg....

if we got Houston's mid round first, as mentioned above, would opt for Meyers Leonard or Terrence Ross....

Reeves Nelson would be a good pickup in the 2nd round. Based on his trouble past, he may not even get drafted so maybe a roster invite?

did a preliminary mock draft to see how things might pan out, at least by my take.... which flipped my two choices, in terms of needing Portland's sixth pick to get Meyers Leonard, and prolly NOLA's tenth for Terrence Ross.... and flame away if you like.... it's just my coupla few cents worth.... would rather you post yours than dump on mine, which are more who I would take if I was GM, rather than who I think they'd take....

01) NOLA * Anthony Davis

02) Bobcats * Thomas Robinson

03) Wiz * Andre Drummond

04) Cavs * Michael Kidd Gilchrist

05) Sactown * Jared Sullinger

06) Blazers * Meyers Leonard

07) GState * Perry Jones

08) Toronto * Harrison Barnes

09) Detroit * Arnett Moultrie

10) NOLA * Damian Lillard

11) Blazers * Kendall Marshall

12) Bucks * Tyler Zeller

13) Suns * Terrence Ross

14) Rox * Terrence Jones

15) Philly * Andrew Nicholson

16) Rox * Royce White

17) Mavs * Marquis Teague

18) Minny * Festus Ezeli

19) Magi * Austin Rivers

20) Nuggs * Bradley Beal

21) Celts * John Jenkins

22) Celts * JaMychal Green

23) Hawks * Tony Wroten

24) Cavs * Fab Melo

25) Grizz * William Buford

26) Indy * Tyshaun Taylor

27) Heat * Jeremy Lamb

28) OKC * John Henson

29) Bulls * Doron Lamb

30) GState * Jeffrey Taylor

obviously I think some of the off guards are undersized and overrated, and that a couple of highly ranked prospects are just too underweight.... also value the other end of the court just as much or more than the offensive end of things, and.... put alot more value on need than BPA....

Players I would try to get my hands on if I were a GM are:

Michael Kidd Gilchrist

Damian Lillard

Bradley Beal

cuz I couldn't find a good spot for him any higher.... where do you slot him and to who ?

really don't see him as a top 5 or 10 pick, and really much prefer Terrence Ross' defense and upside, similar to Russell Westbrook coming out.... Ross can also shoot and get to the rim for Lob City....

Beal is s'posed to be a shooter, yet only makes a third of his threes, he has trouble in traffic driving the lane, and is only an average defender with not much of an upside according to scouting reports....

also like Austin Rivers over Beal in that he can get his shot off pretty much at will, whereas Beal in unlikely to be able to create his own shot so much in the NBA.... and Rivers problem on D apparently is more mental than physical.... his liability is that he's a combo/tweener guard, and more likely best suited for a backup scorer's role off the bench ??

think Beal pairs well with a defensive minded off guard, like Affalo at Denver, hence my slotting him there.... and yes, it looks like he'll go much higher/earlier than that....

personally i like beal more than either of those other 2. and i also like jeremey lamb before a lot of those guys. Im not a big fan of Rivers, and to say that his problem on D is mental is kinda an obvious thing. Whose problem isnt mental? its not knowing where to be or getting fooled. everyone in the nba is physically able to play defense.

The only way we move up into the 1st round is if we buy a draft pick from someone, which is entirely possible. I don't see us making any moves this year outside of trading away our only pick in the draft for a future 2nd rounder and if someone takes Gomes off our hands and frees up the 3-4 mill he's going to make next year.

For how deep this draft is, hitting a money player in the 2nd round is going to be a 1 in a million chance. With the 53rd pick or w/e we have it may not be a bad idea to trade for a future 2nd rounder that may be higher or sell it.

coulda missed on him as well as Beal, and.... again by my take, seemed like supply exceeds demand at the two guard.... if you like him alot, guess you could find a spot for him as early as the late teens.... my thinking was that Indy and Chicago could use a combo guard.... personally really like Tyshaun Taylor, and chose Doron Lamb's shooting ability and ability to facilitate over Waiters aggressive D and ability to slash and get to the free throw line....

tough call on the off guards.... who do you give him to ?

There is a good chance clips get a lottery pick in early teens. Kevin arnovitz and eric pincus both have said teams were offering picks for bledsoe. Trade mo/ebled for number 10 and ariza is a real possibilty. At that point either jeremy lamb or waiters is available. either would make sense especially waiters. Because he is a 2 that could play some one. So you could run a 3 guard rotation until billups returned with either young or or lee depending on who you sign. And ariza fills a major need for us. Don't get me wrong i liked bledsoe since uk. But mo needs to go to expensive so if you can use bled/mo to fill our need at 3 and get our sg of the future you cant ask for more.
