I saw something troubling last night. Griffin accidentally set a hard screen (wasn't looking) and what it did was pry the defender off CP3. Griffin then instinctively rolled to the basket and got an easy dunk over Tim Duncan. Then the very next play he sets his usual weak ass screen, CP3 gets doubled and it leads to a turnover.

I don't understand why an intelligent guy like Griffin hasn't realized that simply putting a little more effort into setting hard screens would elevate the offense to a whole new level. Chris Paul would get free a lot more AND he would score more on PNR. Vinny has to be telling him to set hard screens!?

Here is the play:

^^It's also how you USE the screen as well. Sometimes I think CP3 is too much in a rush and doesn't use the screen to its full advantage. It's sometime these two guys (and DJ) need to perfect the timing of. The Spurs this series certainly showed us what timing is all about on the pick-n-roll.

Blake is either coached horribly or has a severe learning disabilty.

Hopefully its the coaching.

I dont know if its as much desire as it is Vinny not paying attention to detail.

I find his reb positioning more annoying. I still dont know why he runs out of bounds on offensive reb opportunities. And sometimes he just stands on the perimeter and watch to see if the ball goes in. He doesnt even dive to the paint.

At times he seems to want to avoid contact. Maybe he has a phobia of germs. But he seems to love contact on dunks. Go figure

Could Blake be gunshy? How many times have we seen him get a bogus offensive foul while setting a pic? I can recall a few this series, and one clear case (as CP knows) where the Spurs got away with a bad screen.....

That could also come down to proper training time, and one of the things I hope is remedied with a proper training camp.

He set a badass screen to make room for Chauncey's game-winner vs. Dallas.

Reggie should teach Blake how to execute the screen.

He looked like a lineman on that play holding Jason Kidd haha. He needs to figure it out. I think a coach like SVG won't put up with that ****. Vinny kisses our star players asses way too much.
