Reminder that it was because of David Stern that we got Chris Paul as much as Olshey.

Meh, I'll wait to see who else we get before making any judgments. I just want to know some facts to see who broke off the agreement.

The facts are that Portland made a better offer.

I knew when we resigned Vinny the Idiot that something was not right. I gaurantee you he left over the hiring of VDN. Like I said earlier Neil was upset and he ok'd Vinny to get back at the Clippers. I knew it! Hope all you Vinny lovers are happy. This is a major blow to the Clippers org and fans. This looks like 2006 all over again but worse. Neil was the only person who helped change the org. Thanks DTS and Vinny this is how u constantly **** our team.

Things like this usually come down to money and length of contract for DTS. This isn't that big a deal if they replace him with someone thats as competent if not better then Olshey. I wonder how it all broke down. Would love to have been a fly on the wall of that office.

Olshey was the ONLY reason this team came together. Without him we're lost and worse, we've lost all the respect earned over the past year. It's absolutely embarrassing. Get ready for the onslaught of Clipper jokes from every newscaster in the country. Get ready for the CONSTANT and RELENTLESS debate about which other teams Blake and Chris will be playing for in 2013. And get ready for it to actually happen. If I'm Chris Paul, I put my house on the market TODAY.

Unless they go get some BIG TIME and I mean BIG TIME GM, it's over. It's all over. Of coure the chances of that happening are exactly ZERO.

One season. That's all we could get from Sterling. I would love to have that **** in a room for FIVE MINUTES.

There is no excuse for this. We should have extended him before he had the chance to interview with other teams.

so f'ing pissed right now. Regardless of what happens this is a shitty situation and a perpetuation of our f'd up management.

So how can we believe that any available GM will command less $ than Olshey? If he wasn't worth keeping, what's it gonna take to get Walse, Pritchard, Pjax, Lindsey or whoever else is out there?

This goes back to that old thread of who I hate the most associated with the Clippers: Sterling. He knows how to make money but has no clue how to make a winner.

Who the hell would want to take over this team. DTS wants a yes man with no brains. That's why Elgin Baylor lasted so long. Where did that take us. Neil's payback for sure was to ok the resigning of VDN. I had originally mentioned this. He gave us the based payback ever bringing back VDN prior to leaving. Portland is very luck to have such a great GM and now he also has a owner willing to spend money. No telling how good the Blazers will be in a few years. This also puts us in a very bad position to ever establish any trades to the Clippers. I bet Neil would choose the Lakers over us just to get back at DTS.

interesting candidates will go to real teams. Quality people don't work for this hack organization. Keeping this guy was our only chance to have a good GM. No good GM will even consider to work for Donald Sterling.

We're over. Don't think for a second that CP3 and Blake aren't affected by this.

Maybe we can extend Blake this summer because of his fears of another knee injury. Chris Paul is GONE. Our hope is GONE.

I'd rather lose any of our players than to lose the guy that put it all together and even more amazingly, brought respectability to this organization. He will take every ounce of respect with him to Portland.

Very sad day.

Well, I think it became a bidding war after DTS agreed. I bet Portland then contacted Olshey and gave him the job. I think Olshey used that to try and get more money out of that.

Seriously though, Blake Griffin started all of this in my opinion. Olshey did great as our GM for 2 seasons but his most important acquisitions were about the new CBA, and Stern nixing the CP3 deal.

The Clippers went further into the playoffs under Elgin Baylor, actually.

You argue earlier in this thread that Olshey left because Sterling wanted Del Negro back.

Now you're arguing that Olshey brought back Del Negro as payback.

Which is it?

im just in shock, just when i was starting to feel comfortable, about our clippers some bull**** like this happens Fml, because if Dts wont pay Oshley then who da hell will he pay. there is no excuse to explain why we let him go, if Blake doesn't sign his extension before the season starts i will be pissed.

Forget about the money. No self respecting decent GM would EVER work for that piece of sh*t Sterling.

Olshey's overrated. Any knucklehead could've gotten you CP when we had the pieces to give and BG fell into dun's lap.

This is more about DTS bring DTS.

i agree.

Neil did a good job for us but people are overrating him because he brought us CP3, when in reality Blake Griffin was the reason why he came.
