    How about this trade:

Clippers send SF Corey Maggette and PG Shaun Livingston (with draft picks or Korolev, to ensure equality of trade if need be)

    to...

New Orleans for PG Chris Paul and SF Peja Stojakovic.

    Our lineup would then be:

PG Chris Paul / Sam Cassell / Daniel Ewing
SG Sam Cassell / Cuttino Mobley / Daniel Ewing
SF Quinton Ross / Peja Stojakovic / Tim Thomas
PF Elton Brand / James Singleton / Tim Thomas
C Chris Kaman / Aaron Williams / Paul Davis

We get a excellent true PG in Paul. Quick, can score well, does it all and is very young yet. We get a proven 3-point shooter in Peja. He isnt gonna have to do much else since Q-Ross can defend and shoot when needed. If need be...we could even give them Tim Thomas for a guy like Marcus Vicinius or Brandon Bass.

For the Hornets: they are doing worse than we are, could add two young "starters" to their team and Maggette would be traded (which he wants, not necesarily us).

    Any thoughts guys on this:

1st: Would this help our team ??
2nd: Is it a fair trade for New Orleans ??
3rd: Would this trade even be possible with salaries matching ??

    Thanks.

There is no way New Orleans is trading Chris Paul, unless maybe, Lebron was available.

Yeah, I think New Orleans would laugh at us if we came with them with this trade. They are building around Chris Paul and there's noway they are going to trade him. It would be a great trade for the Clippers, but I don't think New Orleans would be that dumb.

I have one to think about, although I doubt that Sacramento would go for it.
Clippers send: Livingston, Maggette, Rebraca (to match contracts), and their two first round picks this year

to Sacramento for: Mike Bibby and Kevin Martin

This would give us the scoring point guard that we need (a younger Sam Cassell). Bibby would run a great pick and roll with Brand. Martin would give us the young scorer and outside shooter. I think the Kings would balk at trading Martin but if I were the Clippers, I'd try it. Maybe the 2 draft picks would entice them.

It's not a bad suggestion, Benoit. Makes more sense than Artest because we get help where we need it (PG). I think Bibby would substantially benefit from having Brand inside. He doesnt have that in Sac-town. With the other K-Mart and Q-Ross splitting minutes at SF.... I think I like it. Oooh...I despised Bibby back in college (nothing against him...just didnt like him) but I'd welcome him on our team.

Chris Paul would be the perfect addition to the team, but yeah there's no way the Hornets are trading him.

I think trading Livingston + fillers + picks for Bibby would be nice, though I think Maggette is much better than Martin, so I wouldn't do that part of the deal.

I was looking at NBADraft.net for any potentially good scoring PG that we might be able to pick up in the upcoming draft but it seems like the upcoming draft is more stacked at power forwards and small forwards. Too bad we didn't draft Monta Ellis a couple years ago- that guy would really help the Clippers.

Your suggestions are very interesting but mostly unlikely...Chris Paul seems untouchable so forget NO's trade.Peja is a great player but is often injured.Anyways I would trade Peja for Maggette. When he's healthy he's the best shooter in the world in my opinion. The defense would be the problem...

I like the trade with the Kings but seems difficult when KMart is having a great season and Bibby is a great player...maybe if they wanna start to rebuild in the PG position with Livi...I don't know.

As I see you are looking on the next draft I would recommend my countrymate Rudy Fernandez...I would be so happy if we had a Spaniard player wearing a clipper jersey!!He's a good shooter, great skills, great jump, great pass ability...he's improving year after year and right know he's one of the most valuous players in Spain.Playing as a SG he can do everything.A proven player. Not like Korolev.World Champion last year with Spain. His only lack is that he's maybe a little thin, like Korolev maybe, but he's very good. There are many scouters here in Europe looking Rudy and he's going to be a high pick...In a couple of days here we play a competition called "Copa del Rey" a tournament where only play the 8 best ACB teams (Marc Gasol, Splitter, Marko Tomas,Rudy Fernandez,Fran Vazquez,Navarro,Kasun...)...I'll talk you more about this event soon

Thanks Miquel...I'd be very interested in hearing what you have to say about the competition over in your country.

That's cool- have you seen Rudy play the point- is he any good as a PG? He's projected to be selected in the high-teens on NBADraft.net. I think a proven European guard who's heady, speedy, and a good shooter will help the Clippers a lot.

You can't draft a player thinking that you will convert him in another type of player...Rudy is mainly a scorer but not a PG.He can pass the ball, of course, but this is not his best function...I think you call this type of player with a good IQ...isn't it?Just like Mike Dunleavy Wink ...The problem maybe is that although he could be drafted around the 15th pick I think that he couldn't play in NBA the next year because of his buyout...European teams are sick of watching the NBA teams "stealing" his players for nothing...
