So its pretty clear (to educated clip fans) that CP3 is not going to sign a long term deal with us if we do not win a championship THIS YEAR, (not a western con. final but a CHAMPIONSHIP

Now sticking with del negro and ivaronsucks hurts our chances greatly into achieving a ring, so there needs to be a balance between "the stupid" (del negro) and the team ....VETS CAN PROVIDE THAT BALANCE

How do we win a championship this year? VETS ""CONSISTENCY IS THE GAME"

We need to put together a team of QUALITY Vets,

Having cp3 being backed up by a consistent Veteran backup, is a lot better than "lets see if Bledsoe is going to bring it tonight"

Oh DJ Sucks tonight? bring in a VET who can score ON A CONSISTENT BASIS

bring in kg, rayallen, aka players 1-2 years away from retiring but packs a punch on the floor

I don't think he expects us to win a championship next year or else. I think he wants to be with a team that is competing every year, along with a major market that allows him to maxout on endorsments. I think LA and the Clips cover all of that

I think that's the plan... We need to bring in a veteran center to share the position with DJ and a veteran SG... This might be Evans, or might not be...

In any event, exactly what you're suggesting has been the plan for the past year; Billups, Martin, Evans, Mo, Foye, CP3 and even Gomes are all veteran players... Bledsoe and DJ are the only unproven talents in the rotation and both are worth keeping, with proper backup.

Veteran players is one thing, getting descent (nba average) or better (above nba average) veteran players is another. We lacked those two thing in most of of our roll players last season. Finding the right guys is the key.

Would it be really really stupid hoping gomes come this season with his former 09-10 self. In 10-11 he played really bad and never had any real time to recover! If he does that this year, he'll be one of our legitimate veterans off the bench!

Hoping that Gomes can be better than average (which he's never been) is a very bad way to run a BB team IMO. Say goodbye Ryan.

He was scoring 13 ppg with 3 rebounds couple assists, couple steals or blocks. That's as good as Mo this year for half the price! He's a bench player, and that would be enough for us!

I don't think CP3 would be dumb enough to think a perennial bottom feeder team can rise to a championship in 2 years,,,that is beyond believable unless the fix is in. I think he is pretty smart,,smart enough to realize if we get further next year then this year,,as long as we get better,, he will stick.

IMHO the big hint will be in a couple of days. In my heart I believe he and Blake may have a plan. I think if we see Blake sign the big deal in a couple of days, Blake does that because he knows CP3 has a long run plan so Blake is sticking around for it.

Then we see Blake driving CP3 in the Kia on thier way to Subway in the commercials and we know CP3 will be here more then a year.

God friggin damnit your right. CP3 CLEARLY is making it obvious that if we don't win it all next year, he's getting the F outta here and taking his talents to Charlotte who is probably going to be the only team with enough money to pay him.

Veterans are good but role payers that fit into the Clippers offensive and defensive schemes is more important.

We need a good defender like Thabo or MKG

Same mistake Cleveland made with Lebron. Bring in players on their last leg to try to compete that year, consistently turn over the roster so the team has no chance of developing chemistry. If we want CP3 to stay, we need to build up a young nucleus that has the potential to become a dynasty.

Filling up the roster with vets would be this team's downfall.

No what Cleveland did wrong was sign vets to bad contracts, and could get lebron a second star to play with, the difference between us and cleveland is that although we have all these vets, they are not long term, which allows us to have financial flexibility to find better players if it doesnt work out.

Jamal crawford- 1st 2 years of his contract is guaranteed, the last 2 are non guaranteed

billups- 1 year deal

odom- 1 year deal

barnes- 1 year

grant hill- 2 years

willie green- 1st year guaranteed, next 2 year are non guaranteed

heck caron's contract ends after the 13-14 season

when you think about it we may have some cap for 2014 free agency
