It was just anounced that the Nets are about to make a new big 3 how will this affect the Clipper and the rest of the NBA?

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/81254 ... ources-say

This tells me the Clippers must now do more to there roster if they really want to win a title!

How does this effect the East?

Hope this happens would make the league more exciting + I don't want Howard anywhere in the western conference specially the Lakers.

It'd pretty much be a big 2. Those following Joe Johnson in recent years realize he's been struggling to get things going and to keep it there. Pretty much D WIlls & D12 if the trade goes thru. Still better than the Knicks LOL

I understand that, yet are there not restrictions?

Its not even close to being done yet. But I hope it happens. It gives Miami another team to worry about in the east, and if they were to play them in the playoffs along with Chicago and Boston, it would tire them out more.

They're gonna pay the luxury tax, that's the only "restriction". People say the Russian guy is not only a billionaire but someone from the russian mafia lol, so i think he'll have no problem paying it.

So wait you can sign as many players as 100 million in cap and all you have to pay is the luxury tax?

"Could" is the word that will be on Howard's tombstone someday, lol.

Yes, pretty much. Luxury tax is supposed to be a detterent to owners to create parity in the league. Your usual billionaire like Cuban or Buss has a breaking point where even they won't dare enter. Apparently NJs new owner is a far richer than the other owners in the league. If he wants to pay the luxury tax the nba can't really stop him.

As of right now, they don't even have a "big 1". D-Will hasn't re-signed, Howard would be a rental and Joe Johnson is far from a marquee player.

Jersey will have a big 4. Wallace, Williams, Johnson and Howard if the trade happens. All 4 guys are All-Stars. That > Miami's lineup.

Keep him anywhere in the East... Lawd I don't want to watch a 4 + Western Conference Series if DJ has to defend Howard and its the 1st or 2nd round... it won't be a slaughter but it won't be nice for DJ...

even if the nets owner is filthy rich, the tax will definately get to him. for example, the blazers have the richest owner and he wont dare pay the tax. even with their big 3 and wallace, they eventually will need to come out and rest. let miami and them duke it out. lol

nets are wack. they'll get knocked out 2nd round next year or ECF if they get DH12.

I like the moves the Nets have made. Johnson and Williams is an awesome backcourt and Johnson has a post game as well and can spot up off the ball. Wallace and Humphries are both gritty players who can play and Brook Lopez is a guy who can put in 18 and 7 even though I would prefer my center to grab more boards than that but Humphries is good at rebounding, look at what he did after the succubus Kardasian divorced him, he rebounded from that really well.

DWill isn't a pass minded point guard. Lots of players that like having the ball on the roster!

Isn't a pass minded PG? How'd he rack up 10+ APG 4 years in a row and nearly 9 per game last year? Not to mention over 9 per game his 2nd year in the league? CP3 must not be a pass minded PG either. Fact is D Wills and CP3 are talented PG's in other aspects outside of just bringing the ball up the court and passing. They can score and shoot at a high %. Ignore D Wills' numbers in Jersey the last 2 years, they blew ass and he pretty much had to take all the shots while getting a massive amount of pressure.

On no planet is Gerald Wallace an elite player, he disappears in too many games and inconsistent at best.
