I just talked to my friend and he said he read somewhere we are considering trading Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins for Dejaun Blair?

Any truth to this? If so, what do you guys think?

I like both players, but Dejaun Blair is a great underrated player and he pretty much brings us what Reggie brought us but with an offensive punch. His height might be an issue, but I rather get a guy that has already proven he can impact a game as opposed to two young guys who will probably just sit on the bench.

Dejuan Blair would be awesome but I think the FO really believe in Trey so ..

We are in need of a 7' Blair is a 6'7 PF and since we bring Lamar I don't think the FO is looking for this kind of player.

I like Trey and Leslie but for Blair that is a no brainier in IMO.But I doubt it is true.Spurs have Duncan,Splitter,Bonner, and Diaw so they don't really have a need for Blair but I think if they were looking to move him they could get a better deal.

Spurs also have another Euro big coming in, they are definitely looking to move him.

The only thing I take away from this is that if the Spurs want Leslie/Thompkins, you keep them. There's a reason why he fell out of the Spurs' rotation over the past season and a half. DeJuan is a great player in my opinion but has no ACLs on either knee. His career is very limited due to that fact.

Its 500% not true. LAC are extremely high on both of them. right now they are developing them as we speak. cp3 is working them out to make them better. i wouldnt want blair anyway.

No way man. We're gonna force Trey to play some 5 if we don't get one in the off season, He's working on his muscle so you're gonna see the sophomores get some minutes next season!

Blair has shot knees but he's a beast backup PF. With Blair and Odom off the bench teams would get OBLITERATED on the boards.

I would of rather kept Craig Smith than Blair.

Is it true that Greg Oden has one leg shorter than the other?

Didn't know his knees were that bad.He is a very good player who can really help the Clips but at that big of a risk I think I rather stick with the potential of Trey and Travis also but I would still have to consider it.

True... Trey is great but the only thing that worries me about him (even though he had limited pt all year) is that he roams around the perimeter when it seems he has the game and size to play in the post

Unless they know something we dont about his previous injuries then I dont see why they would keep him. It seems they want to build something with Diaw and Splitter up front and Duncan is probably going to be in the league a couple more years so Blair will get even less playing time than this year

That is why I am having second thoughts if this were true. Travis seems like a natural SG and something we lack so why not try to build him up. Same goes for Travis but I mean it sucks but I doubt any of them see any PT again next season why have them just waste away on the bench

Blair is awesome what are you nutballs talking about? Blair shoots about 53% career, gets 8.5 points, 6.5 boards in only 20 minutes of work. His per 36 min avg is 16 points and 12 boards. Yes he may not be 7 feet but Reggie Evans is only like 6'8" and was playing C for us, as was Kenyon Martin.

Outside of me defending a valuable and skilled player like Blair, I highly doubt were looking to trade both Leslie and Thompkins for Blair. I just can't see San Antonio taking a trade offer like that seriously at all.

If this Clipper trade rumor is true- it's a no-brainer. I'd like to keep Leslie, however.

no to this deal. if blair was so great, why did he sit on the pine in the playoffs and throughout the season. his knees are really bad. he is much better than reggie though. trade reggie for blair, if the nets trade didnt go thru. the clips are high on thompkins and leslie, so i dont think they would be traded anytime soon.

I agree 100% but if his knees are as bad as people are saying I don't think it would be a benefit to give up a solid defender like Leslie and a good Big man shooter like Thompkins.Blair is a very good player but if he does have some serious injuries that could keep him on the bench for most of the season,I wouldn't want to risk giving up Leslie or Thompkins.I think Thompkins can learn a lot from Odom and try to make his game similar to Odoms and Leslie can learn a lot from CP3 and Lee if we can get him. Both have been working a lot with CP3 so he must see some potential there with them.

Also if they are looking to move him, like I said before I think they can get a better deal than this honestly.

I am a big Pitt fan as well as a clipper fan. Dejuan Blair hasnt had ACLs since high school and yet he never missed a single game at Pitt and has only not played in 3 games in 3 years with the Spurs

He played a ton until the 3rd game of the playoffs. Popovich must have not liked the matchups and maybe Blair complained and got benched.

He is a beast of a rebounder and can help protect Blake when needed. He is 10x the player Reggie Evans is. He knows his role and can actually make a free throw even though he is at only just over 60%.

This is a great deal, you know what you are getting with Blair, he is proven.

Thompkins and Leslie are unknowns.

im not arguing about blair not being a good pro. he is. thompkins and leslie are unknowns because they didnt get any consistent run by vdn last season. id trade reggie evans and gomes' expiring contract for blair. helps both teams out.

Kill this noise. We just need Trey to come around. He has good length, and he was a natural shot blocker in college. Trey can step out and knock down shots outside. Blair isn't the answer. NO

Trey has a huge wing span long hands perfect for some good defense if he trains which he is, with CP3! The rest will come natural!

Not to mention........there's no way in hell that I'd invest any money in a player with no ACL's. I don't care what kind of luck he's had to this point.

Okay, Thompkins/Leslie didnt get any playing time this year so I wont judge them but are kidding me guys? Dejuan Blair is a beast. Yeah he's 6'7 but he's also about 270lbs. Some have been complaining about the loss of K-Mart/Reggie, well here ya go! Dont tell me our 2011 2nd round pick is gonna push people around, I like his upside but let's not act like Blair is trash. Although, IF the clippers were to acquire Blair, they would still likely sign a backup C for the minimum just to have in case. He's also making less than a million and has only missed a few games, and it wasnt because of his knees.

By the way, I looked for rumors about this trade and the only place that talked about the possibility was on....the bleacher report. So this rumor is likely false. But I wanted to give my input. Dejuan is a tough player who puts in work. I'd love to have him on the new 2012/2013 goon squad. (gonna miss the Martin/Evans/Mo/Young/Bledsoe group).

It hasn't happened yet, but there's nothing on the front side to hold his tibia in place. Like I said, he's had amazing luck thus far........but one wrong cut, and he's gonna be 75 years old instantly. And even if he's healthy........he lost PT this year because of his lack of effectiveness against length. Blair's a baller, but the NBA game has evolved. This isn't the 80's. You can't just have "heart" and skill only anymore or else players like Paul Milsap and D Blair would be dime a dozen...

Hines Ward didnt have an ACL either. Its not a huge deal. Guy played football for over 10 years with no problems. Its not like he never had them, they just got torn when he was young and didnt heal right. Other stuff had to heal and took over.

One torn up knee for anyone could make them pretty old instantly.

There's better options than Blair: Mahinmi, Hollins!
