The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Steve Nash in a sign-and-trade with the Phoenix Suns, says source close to the situation. Done deal.

This sucks. Kobe gets to finish off his career with the best point guard he's ever played with.

This could also very easily trickle down into intriguing Dwight Howard to agree to come to the Lakers because there is now a ball dominant point guard to facilitate things.

Dammit.

Yeah. This is bad news for us. The only positive thing is that Nash is 38. But if he manages to play at least 75 games, the Fakers are still a threat.

I don't think Nash has enough left in the tank for him to be the Lakers savior, I'm not tripping at all. We got the West on lock.

Lmao this is gonna turn out bad for them. They could have a great PG, or not have one at all. Either way Kobe has the ball in his hands. Nash is gonna be an over paid stand still shooter for them

This would put pressure on the clippers to sign someone as big as nash

No draft picks for the Lakers next year and they lose their 1st rounder in 2015. Lakers can't hope to continue this trend. You need draft picks.

Expect to see the 39 year old Nash resting on his back the remainder of his career. I love Nash and always wanted him to get a ring but now, I want him just like my other favorite Sun...Sir Charles. No Rings.

they got better but not slower....what will hurt them is nash thrives on the fast break to find shooters and unless pau becomes fry on the fly then there is nothing to be worried about

I think all Clipper fans should start collectively praying that Dwight Howard goes to the Nets because if he doesn't he's going to be a Laker and that's not good. (Dwight,Kobe,Pau,Nash) not good at all.

I'm not, I just have a lot of faith in my team. I think we are going to win the championship every year regardless of the roster.

Between mike browns offense, the lakers training staff paired with nash's back, kobe's ball stopping ability, and the ridiculous amount of payroll they have tied up, i can only hope this ends in the beautiful disaster that its set up to be.

For a bunch of picks. Seems like they're mortgaging their future to really go for the title now. Nash definitely makes them a much stronger team, good move for the Lakers.

incredible trade, first because it seemed the knicks had a done deal for him, second because he is willing to play with one his all time rivals kobe

not tripping on this trade. if they think they will be able to get more than 30 great minutes from nash on a nightly basis, they are dead wrong. if we sign lee, convince allen to come to the clips and keep bills we are still a better team than the flakers. count on it. even if we dont get allen and keep young instead we will be better than the flakers. we are a deeper team. lakers= career hospice lol.

Disagree. Nash, the HOF'r is going to make them much better and IF they pull off a Bynum for Howard trade (which is quite possible)....ouch.

ok lets see tense, our team (if we sign lee, bills, allen/young and a big man like hollins) vs the lakers with nash and with or without howard

lakers starting 5

nash, kobe, artest/ probably g.hill since artest would be off to orlando if bynum is traded for howard, gasol, bynum/howard

bench: blake, ebanks, goudelock, murphy, mcroberts.

clippers starting 5

cp3, lee/allen, butler, bg, dj

bench: ebled, bills, ny, lo, hollins/thompkins

clippers are the deeper team by a lot. we would essentially have 2 teams.

true tense. well we can count bills in. lol. and luvmesummee, i agree. eventhough i put hollins on that list, i think we would benefit more by having mahinmi on the squad.

I thought the flakers were broke. Not only PHX got 4 picks but cash too 3mil. they gave cash to DAL for the 55th pick.

I'll be honest, I am no Lakers fan, but right there PHX may ticket them to a trip in NBA final. Yuck! Why I don't understand everyone keep helping the Lakers or are the lakers are that shew.

The lakers is good that is if Nash can touch the ball, Kobe will not allow Nash to become an MVP. They might good at the beginning, but kobe's natural ballhugging will destroy their game.

^ its funny that they are able to somehow come up with money to get players when they are so over the cap. idk what the suns were thinking. the knicks had offered them iman shumpert, toney douglas and a future 1st rd pick for nash. yet they accepted this deal. but the suns are making moves. they signed goran dragic to a 4 year contract, signed beasley for 2 years and are waiting on the gordon situation. now its time for the clips to make some noise.

I live in Arizona for school. People out here are pissed. Nash is like a god around here and for him to ask to get traded to lakers is like a stab in the back. The suns probably should have at least one championship with nash if it wasnt for the lakers and refs in the spurs series. Athletes nowadays have no competitiveness in wanting to be better then their colleagues. The elite players in the 80's and 90's would never go play for their bitter rival.

true CJ. even 5 years too late. its funny that the flakers fans i know, for the most part, think they will win 3 titles in a row just cuz of this trade. i think the 4th of july and their excessive alcohol consumption clouded their judgment, or maybe they are just acting like most typical flaker fans lol.

Let's think outside of the Clipper glasses and outside looking in. In paper, this look like a damn scary team. I hate the Lakers and I can't believe I'm saying it but I hate Steve Nash for going to your rival. Unbelievable.
