Dont know exactly what the Nets are looking for but it looks like they are trying to stay with just the veterans and moving away from youth. Forget the 4 team trade lets do a direct trade with them, maybe they would be interested in a S&T for Foye and a future 2nd rounder or maybe even a straight trade for a future protected 1st. Worth a look at least.

Wow, he has looked awful in the summer league games I've seen.

Although he looks like he'll be a special player, we're set at the SG positions. I think we should just focus on the SF and C positions now

might be why they are shopping him. we could pick him up on the cheap.

IMO, my 1st pick though would be to get Jamison as SF/PF but I dont think thats happening so Brooks could be a good option.

Don't trade a 1st round for Brooks. Look who celtics got at the 21st Jarrid Sullinger!

I like Brooks a lot, but he's not the player we need at the SG... We already signed Crawford, who is very similar. Marginal outside shooter with the ability to score... We have a Center and a combo SG/SF to add... It would be great if both of them could shoot the ball, but for the SG it's a must...

Paul and Blake need to have shooters around them to spread the floor... Crawford, Odom and Butler are just marginal... Bellinelli would be a good choice.

Two years from now, MarShon will be called "LilKobe" and you will all be sorry we passed on this young guy. He will be dribbling around and through every defense we throw at him and scoring at will. He will turn Jamal Crawford into an oak tree. A stump planted in the ground.

Id take him purely based on potential and rookie salary. Our team is going to have a lot of money invested in 5 guys so why wouldnt you have a young above avg sg, who is still going to be under contract for cheap for the next 3 yrs. Its bargains like this that balance out the team.

We need 3 pt shooters and Benelli is who we need but Brooks wouldn't break my heart

BUT 39% vs 31% BINGO! We need somebody to whom Paul can give the ball.

Im not disagreeing that we need shooters but Bellinelli can only play the 2. He's an amazing shooter but not really a defensive specialist. Id rather us get a guy like Carlos Delfino, who can hit 3's and defend the 3 spot. If not him, Terrence Williams, Dominic McGuire, or even Bobby Simmons.

Im not too interested in Brooks or Bellinelli, neither fit what the team needs right now.

Too bad Minny just got him, but Id love a guy like Chase Budinger. That's the type of player we should be going after. No more undersized players please.

When is this club gonna stop beating around the bush and actually sign Courtney Lee after all these endless rumors that we're at least interested. He can shoot the ball, play defense, and his price won't be sky high. Great role player.

go after him hard. give them a protected first rd pick. the kid is very good. he can be better having cp3 and bg to play off from. he can be our future sg. face it, bills may be out til february. i like brooks. we can plug him as our starting sg and we can put crawford in his best role as a 6th man. @sdclipper, lee is too expensive. if he wasnt that expensive he would be gone already yet hes still out there. idk why people think that he can play the 3. look, if he was cheaper im sure we would take a shot at acquiring him. but im sure hes looking for 7million plus per year. brooks is on his rookie contract. thats why i prefer brooks.

Good points.Don't need any more SG.We need a SF who can defend.First choice would be Delfino, followed by McGuire. Not sure about Williams because I think he will be looking for a payday. But I still don't mind B.Simmions either.Pick him up for another year and call it a day.He can defend and working with our players over the summer hopefully he can improve his shooting. He is a solid defender who wouldn't be that expensive at all. With Caron and Odom he won't need to play many minutes. But I think this would be a good solution only if we can't get anyone better. But don't think Bellinelli is the way to go.Wouldn't mind Brooks because he is still young and has a lot of potential.

brooks can become a good shooter. hes still young. hes long and is a solid defender. bellineli is not long, he can shoot but cant defend. if we dont go after brooks, then id take a S&T with milwaukee for delfino. he fits perfectly.

Some guys are born shooters, some guys improve their shooting over time, while others will never be good shooters. Brooks is 23, played 4 years of college and averaged 33.3% from a 3-point line a couple of feet closer than the NBA line. I wouldn't hold my breath expecting him to improve too much. Last season he was a rookie, but he was an old rookie.

Brooks can score, but he is incredibly inefficient at it. He takes a ton of bad shots. Clippers need to stay away from chuckers like that.

I wonder what the nets are looking for in return? 2nd round? 1st round? Cap relief in Gomes Razz

wasnt young a chucker as well ricky? people wanted him back. brooks would get a lot of good shots on this team due to the fact that u have to double bg and u have cp3 setting him up. idk if he would be a great shooter, but his shooting will improve. i know its off topic, but im hearing the rockets want to try to trade chandler parsons. heard it on nba tv. the kid can knock down the 3, can defend very well and is versatile. maybe we should take a look at him. lee is too expensive, but parsons is still under a 2nd rd pick rookie contract. plus parsons is a big sf at 6'9. could help this team out.

We are very short on available cash and can only sign very inexpensive players from here on. If we are stuck with Gomes then it limits what we can do salary cap wise. We just might have to add a summer league player or 2.

well we can always do a sign and trade. do we have any trade exceptions? i recall we had two. plus if we were to go after parsons, his contract is very cheap.

If we got Marshon Brooks, our backcourt would be awesome. Even if CP3 bolted next year, I wouldn't mind having a Bledsoe/Brooks backcourt.

The guy had a whopping 34 points today in summer league. He looked great today. Maybe we should go after him!

Although I'm a fan of Brooks, shouldn't we be after someone that can defend the SG/SF's of the league besides Marshon Brooks(who's another 6'5 undrsized guard) plays primarly with the ball in his hands at the top of the key as a SG not as a SF so he basically plays like CP3,Billups,Bledsoe,and Crawford basically 5 guys that are uesd to playing WITH the ball in their hands <If we had a good coach that's creative(D Nelson, even D Antonio) it might work but VDN figuring that out,I don't know.

Anyways sign Michael Pietrus(somehow),or ,Ronnie Brewer,Martell Webster 4 one year.Maybe S&T Foye and a 1st for Austin Daye to back up Caron and let him rest his knees,or keep the pick and next summer trade Bledsoe,Butler, and that 1st for either Paul George,Igoudala,or maybe even James Harden(I realize these are a stretch but all are either on the last year of their contracts or free agents(Harden) and P. George and Harden are from L A regardless there's options and we have a lot of good players and assets on this team.

I would love for the Clippers to do half the things u say. Just being a fan for so long u begin to understand the Clippers don't have the front office to be as creative as u. Also trying to make everyone understand the importance of the Clippers doing is the right things. Is like finding a needle in the middle of a hay stack.

What I have learned. Especially with us having no GM. Is that we can only hope for the easiest trades and solutions.

The best an easiest things for this team is probably.

Courtney Lee, Brandon Rush and possibly getting Greg Oden.

I keep hearing reports that they want Marco Bellinili.

So based on this I am assuming our final pick ups are probably.

Marco Bellinili or Marson Brooks and a Ryan Hollins.

I would rather them get these guys for the exception of Hollins.

I think our coach is too offensive minded. Since he has no idea how to run plays. He is strictly looking at offense. Since he doesn't believe in defense and he is currently our GM. I doubt he brings any defensive minded players. You really got to take a look at our current GM and Coach. Part of the reason I keep saying Vinny will destroy this team. But unfortunately we have a lot of hopeful Clipper fans that believe no matter what we do it is always the best for the Clippers.

I am not one to agree with that philosophy. But I try to be realistic about players we can actually land. There is no bigger than at least attempting to get Dwight. We all know that's never happening.

So with the realitys of the team! Who do u think our best options are?

^^^ Well said Clippersam I agree I would also add that VDN fired Dean Demopoulos our defensive coach and Still hasn't replaced him.I couldn't believe were still going after Marco Bellineli, these are clearly VDN's moves it is beginning to get scary because I do realise we might be seeing nothing but 3 guard lineups and DJ, Blake, and Odom having to set all the screens(which they still need a lot of coaching to be taught how to set a proper pick)and grab all the rebounds(Ryan Hollins ?really). I mentioned Pietrus,Daye and Webster because VDN it was reported said the Clippers may look to add another big guy, a backup SF, and maybe another guard so I'm still hoping something happens but yeah overpaying 4 Odom(8milWTF)and signing Jamal Crawford and still looking for a three point shooter where DEFINETLY not what I was hoping for oh well we still have Blake, and CP3(and Bledsoe can play, also I'm sure DJ will be a good Center he just needs to be coached)

I have no idea why others. Can't see the things your saying.

Your still the best one on here that can actually discuss things correctly and debate them wisely.

You have my vote for best posts on the CTB.

Hands down.

I would give you the Top Dog award.

Unfortunately the Clippers can't afford one.

Great post!

I'm getting a slight hunch here that your definition of 'correctly' and 'wsiely' basically means in line with your views and opinions.

As for Marshon Brooks, I wouldnt mind having him on our team but I honestly think that there are other better options we can still pursue

We know Vinny like to play small ball so in this case Marshon Brooks would be a good pick up but I don't think that's possible since the deal between ORL and BKL is over.

No way man we can't trade 4 Chandler Parsons after we passed on him in the 2nd round last year 4 Trey Thompkins it would really be nuts(I'm still pissed Olshey passed on him because Parsons always played well and did a lot for the Florida Gators while he was there)

you cant look at sunk costs as something you can change. We made the mistake of Thompkins over Parsons, thats done. Now if there is a wa to get Parsons that would be huge but I dont think there is especially since they just traded Budinger.
