haha I actually enjoy it. So many wrong things, but yet its pure awesomeness.

On another note: you know with Steve Nash on the Lakers, its basically a championship team right there. Now they're all strong in all area of the floor. I still have hope Clippers can do it but they're unknown quantity yet Lakers already proven so we'll see from there.

they're strong on offense, defense will be a different story. and they've got zero depth. i wonder how nash does without the phoenix training staff.

while i think they've got a phenomenal starting lineup, i think they have issues.

That's unfortunate. Lakers actually one of top defensive team last season under coach Mike Brown and we all know he is the defense specialist. I"m sure he'll create a defensive scheme to fill the void of lack of individual defender so it's skeptical. For playoff, you won't need the bench.

I just can't see Kobe, Bynum and Nash all making it through the season without some sort of hiccup along the way.

I think our teams are about even given the age of the players, skill, health concerns etc. It'll be a fun fight in the division.

Depth is an issue for sure, as is their age. But if healthy, this is a very scary team. Defense shouldn't be an issue--as bad as people say Nash is, is he any worse than Fisher/Sessions/Blake? Probably a little, but Brown still made them a good defensive team last year with those point guards. Besides, even if Nash is a terrible defender, they have two long 7 footers to protect the rim and 2 aging but still great wing defenders in Kobe and Artest. In the Clippers current 8 man rotation, they probably only have 3 players who would be considered above average defenders(Bledsoe, Paul, Odom) with some pretty terrible ones too(Griffin, Crawford). Jordan and Butler are pretty average, while Billups could be average depending on his recovery. Basically, the Lakers will still be a much better defensive team than the Clippers, and probably better offensively as well. The Clippers will only be a better team if the Lakers have aging/injury issues, or if the Clippers youngsters(Griffin, Jordan, Bledsoe) drastically improve and some other players(Odom, Crawford, Butler, Billlups) return to form after a bad/injured season. Basically, Paul is the only known value, and how everyone else shows up will make the difference.

I wonder if this is how Jason Kidd got his DUI upon arriving in New York.

I wonder if Nash will turn into an entitled prick the way every other player seems to do when they sign with the lakers.

seanrooks, while i get some of your points, the depth that we have will give any team problems. the lakers have a good starting 5, but nash is very effective with shooters surrounding him. his effectiveness will decrease in a half court setting, unless bynum, gasol, kobe and artest become 38 to 40 percent 3 point shooters, which wont happen. i know common sense says that they will pound the ball inside. ok, so when is kobe going to get his touches? thats the problem. kobe will at first try to modify his game to accomodate nash. but in the end he will go back to the chucker he is. regarding defense, kobe a great wing defender? 5 years ago u could make that argument, but now hes an average defender at best. the wear and tear of his knees is a problem as is the wear and tear on nash's back. their lack of depth will bite them in the ass this season. once their starting 5 goes to the bench, it will be easy for teams to get back into the game or take control of the game. maybe this wont be seen in the first half of the season but it will gradually happen as the season progresses. but it will be a good division race as long as they stay healthy and unfortunately for them, it will be a big if.

That same injury scenario can be said about the Clippers, plus there's a lot of "what if's" on our side also....and I don't think their quite finish with the their roster just yet.

It's going to be a dog fight for the Pacific title.

Nash has never been that kind of guy. He'll be the same Steve Nash as he's always been...just a great basketball player.

@tense, i get what u are saying. nash seems to be a down to earth guy, but playing with the lakers makes almost all players that end up there entitled pricks. thats true without a doubt. however, there is also the possibility of nash being the exception. i hope so because i like the guy and his game (just not when he faces us). regarding the injury situation, our "ifs" are not as pronounced as their ifs because 1) we are the younger group and 2) our depth is significantly better than the lakers. but u are right both teams are not done making moves however idk how much more the lakers will be inclined to spend considering they are so over the cap and with the huge increase in the luxury tax looming that is something they are probably thinking of already.

Not all Laker players thought of themselves as so called entitled pricks...whatever that means, lol. Just to name a few across the years; Magic, West, Baylor, Jabbar, A.C Green, Nixon etc, etc.

Gotta say I have more respect for Steve Nash (even on the Lakers) then to pass him a Keystone Light. Great clip nonetheless.
