Well- it was a long road and we have reached the end of the season. Let's see if the guys can put up a good showing, but then er, lose on a miracle half-court heave by the Rockets at the buzzer . If we lose, then we will be assured of at least a tie for 5th spot in the lottery. If the Knicks win tonight in Indiana that we would own the 5th spot by ourselves. There's even a super-slim chance that we can tie Memphis for 4th if they can beat the Nuggets in Denver.
Go Memphis, go Knicks! |

| They just showed us being tied with New York for the 5th spot, so they said they'd flip for who gets the better spot....that correct? |

That's what Ralph and Mike were saying...guess we'll find out. The difference between 5th and 6th is quite large. We could really use that 5th slot. New York can go next year. We need it more |

| Teamfiend, you're right they average the 5th and 6th slots ... LAC and NY will get the same number of balls. Then if neither of them move up to the top three, then they flip a coin to see which gets 5th and 6th. |

Man that first quarter was pretty embarrassing to watch- guys just couldn't get a defensive rebound to save their lives. That right there killed the Clippers. That's why the Clippers really need a strong backup center to shore up the dirty work inside when Kaman is out. The Clipper guards really got outplayed too. The Houston smalls did a much better job penetrating and dishing, while the Clipper guards missed a lot of open outside shots. There makes a strong case for getting a penetrating/attacking guard also.
I was a little surprised to see Scola outplay Brand like that. I think it's was just a matter of EB never playing against him before because Brand played much better D on him in the 2nd half.
But yup it's over. This was a disappointing way to go out, but it also highlighted what the team needs to improved upon. As you guys said we'll end up splitting the 5th spot with the Knicks- a 7.5% chance at the top pick I believe. So even if we don't get lucky we should be able to fill a need whether it be back center or a guard. |

As I've said the whole season Scola is a great player. You don't win the ACB MVP award for free. He matured in Europe becoming the best big man and now he can school most of the league big guys. He hasn't had problems translating his game to the NBA because he's very solid and talented. He loves playing back to the basket and his footwork is great. |

| Yeah he definitely has great footwork, and he he tries to get to every rebound & loose ball. That was not smart of the Spurs to just give him away like that. Man if the Clippers had someone like him to backup Kaman and Brand our front court would be set. We NEED someone like Scola or a guy like Paul Milsap who hustles & is a solid defensive presence & rebounder. |
